Jen and Jane Sell - Represented Buyer 2024

    Jen and Jane Sell

A wonderful first time home buyers experience, driven by Jane & Jen…read more My wife and I cannot recommend Jane & Jen highly enough. From the very beginning of our home-building journey through closing and even afterward, they consistently went above and beyond to make sure everything went as smoothly as possible. To start, Jane and Jen are very kind, down to earth people. They make you feel comfortable from the start, relating to you in many ways. We really enjoyed getting to know them, which made the process feel less transactional. Our build took about 10 months from start to finish, and throughout that entire process they stayed in regular contact, checked in often, and made sure every checkpoint stayed on track. We never felt like we were navigating the process alone. Building a home from the ground up comes with countless decisions, meetings, and unexpected challenges. Jane & Jen attended every builder meeting with us and were true advocates for our interests every step of the way. They listened to what we wanted, offered thoughtful advice based on their experience, and helped us make decisions that we are incredibly grateful for now that our home is complete. Looking back, many of their recommendations have become some of our favorite features of our home. When it came time to discuss changes or requests with the builder, they were always professional, respectful, and firm when it mattered. Their knowledge and confidence helped ensure our concerns were taken seriously, and many of the design changes and requests we wanted were approved because they advocated on our behalf. Without their guidance and willingness to speak up for us, several of those improvements likely would not have happened, or been thought of. During our final walkthrough, they were just as thorough as they had been throughout the build. They carefully identified imperfections and items that needed attention and made sure they were documented so they could be addressed before closing. Their attention to detail gave us confidence that nothing important would be overlooked. Communication was exceptional from start to finish. Whenever we had questions, they responded quickly with detailed answers and kept us informed throughout the process. Their professionalism, experience, and genuine care made what could have been a stressful experience feel organized and manageable. Even after closing, they have continued to offer support and make themselves available whenever we've had questions. That level of service speaks volumes about the kind of professionals they are. We have already recommended Jane & Jen to several friends and family members, and we would not hesitate to work with them again in the future. If you're looking for knowledgeable, trustworthy, experienced realtors who will genuinely advocate for you and make your best interests their priority, you won't find a better team.

I am writing this review for Jane Yoder and Jennifer Jenson to help others who might be searching…read morefor a realtor. Reviews have previously helped me when looking for reputable businesspeople, so I would like to pay it forward and provide a review for Jen and Jane. The most important traits I look for when considering business transactions are honesty and trust. I don't want to question someone's motives in a business deal. I can assure you that Jen and Jane will not mislead you in order to make a sale. For the past 12 years that I have dealt with them, above everything else, they wanted to be sure I was happy with my home purchase. This is the second time I have bought/sold with them, which is the greatest testimony that I could possibly give. For three years, I searched for a home in the country. I had specific requirements: an up-to-date house that didn't require a lot of work to make it comfortable, no neighbors close to me, and a property that was low maintenance. I quickly found out that these properties are hard to find. I called Jen and Jane many times to have them show me places, or to get their opinion on whether the price was appropriate. Time and again, they gave me their input on the condition of the homes. They also looked up information and history on the septic systems and what would be required by the county. (I have zero experience with that). They wanted to make sure I wasn't buying something that would become a problem later. Keep in mind that in three years we looked at several places, and that they were not paid every time they did this kind of work. My point is that they never pushed me, and always went through a checklist of things to consider before buying. It was clear to me that their priority was to make sure I was happy with my decision. Whenever I called, they were happy to arrange a showing for me. Three months ago, I found my dream home in the country. Jen showed me the house, was honest about the pros and cons, discussed the price with me, and helped me though the process of making an offer. She was excellent at keeping me posted with details since mine was not the only offer. Within 24 hours of making the offer, my bid was accepted. Jen continued to help me out after the sale and set up another showing so that I could measure the house to make sure my furniture would fit. When it came time to sell my place, once again I relied on Jane and Jen's experience to let me know what things needed to be done before selling. They advised me to have a few things painted and made the arrangements to have it done. They also arranged to have some skylights cleaned and a couple of repairs done. It should be noted that Jane's husband is an excellent resource when it comes to questions about repairs. He has built several houses himself and is experienced in the trades. He was willing to take a look at my place and give his help. Jen and Jane also have connections with reputable tradespeople who do good work. This is invaluable since I am inexperienced, and we were working with a deadline. Jane and Jen both helped me set the price for the sale of my house. I trusted their experience in the market to do this. They held an open house and there was strong interest. They gave me feedback on all the parties who toured the house. When there were individual showings, they sent me emails with the reactions of the prospective buyers. Once we got offers, they discussed them with me and guided me through the process of selling. We made a counter on the offer I chose, and I was pleased with the price. My house sold in less than a month. In summary, I can't say enough good about my experience with Jane and Jen and the help they gave me over the years. They are so pleasant to work with that every encounter with them is enjoyable. If you are looking for realtors with honesty and integrity, you have found them, and you will be very happy if you use their services. I don't plan on selling my dream home anytime soon, but if I do, I will be calling them again!

    Eisaman Property Management and Realty

This is a review from an apartment owner, who contracted Eisaman Property Management for management…read moreservices. I've been in multifamily property management for over 10 years, with top national companies. I'm not going to mention specific names regarding who I dealt with and try to stick to just the facts. Eisaman is what you might call an apartment "loss leader" in Fort Wayne. What I mean by that is, their managed property in Fort Wayne consists of poorly maintained, low rent units mostly all in less desirable, high crime rate parts of town. It is clear that this is their niche for both property management and sales. Carving out a niche like this is not a bad thing at all, but for property owners considering Eisaman as a potential management company, this can be a good yardstick for the quality of service and maintenance they provide. Setting up a niche market in the low rent districts like Eisaman has, results in a very low bar for most aspects of management - especially maintenance. Much of their managed property appears to be owned by the company owner himself. This is also fine, but if you are a potential client, keep this in mind when it comes to setting your expectations as far as where you fall on the Eisaman priority list. There was a combination of poor management practices and inexperience that led to many "little" things being done wrong. If you have experience in property management, you understand how certain little things can come back to haunt 6, 12 or 18 months later. I won't spend time listing out the many little things that were done incorrectly (regularly misplaced rents, electric baseboard heat left cranked up on high in a vacant unit, etc.). If as a potential client you'd like to reach out to me in a PM I'd be happy to give you a more detailed and facts only overview (I have no personal angst with Eisaman, they just did a poor job). The final act before Eisaman and I parted ways was an apartment turnover quoted at $1205.00. When the bill came, it was just under $2000. (I received no calls during the turnover for approval on change orders, etc. Per our original contract, I had to approve anything over $100). When I questioned the unexpected increase in the cost of this turnover, first I was met with resistance. To continue to be fair and stick to just the facts, after pushing harder, they did waive/refund the $700+ unexpected overage. (I can say that I would be swiftly terminated by most all of my clients if this same thing occurred on my watch.) After this turnover incident, I received a termination letter from my property manager at Eisaman, saying that we "had different management philosophies" and they would be terminating our contract in 30 days. A couple things about this. First, Eisaman's management contract is a long term contract (such as 12 months) and doesn't allow the client to terminate early without a fee (but apparently it allows Eisaman to cancel). In my experience on both the manager and landlord side of things this is atypical. Most property management contracts for 3rd party multifamily management are month to month with a 30-60 day notice period for termination. Second, although Eisaman gave me a 30 day notice, they terminated after about 2 weeks, just cold turkey. Luckily, by that time, I had other management lined up, but I found the "bait and switch" unprofessional. In defense of Eisaman, there is definitely a dearth of good multifamily property management firms in Fort Wayne, and housing is cheap. This all leads to a vacuum, giving Eisaman more of a market share than they should probably have and allowing just about anybody with a pulse to enter the business of owning rental property. Like most 3rd party managers, (this is my opinion) the whole office seems overworked and underpaid. Again, if you are in the market for property management services in Allen County/Fort Wayne/ Auburn area, feel free to PM me and I am happy to provide more details.
