We ordered the salad ((it's huge) and the platter with three sides, potato salad, coleslaw was good but the BBQ beans were the best. The ribs and sauce were very tender and a light smoke, the pulled pork was delicious as well. You order inside and there is a great covered area with picnic tables. My favorite BBQ place thus far. Great fresh BBQ made daily, none of the reheated slightly dried out ribs you get at the high volume BBQ joint. Every meat I have tried here has been outstanding, and if you'd like a pro tip it is to call before you just drop in. Everything is made fresh daily and in limited quantities, so if you give them so notice you can roll in while it's being pulled off the smoker and have amazing BBQ. Lastly, and certainly not least, the staff are truly warm, kind, and attentive people. Every single person there is so polite, responsive, and make you feel like you've been invited to a pig pick'n, as if you're part of the family. Their smoked wings are straight fire too. These guys are smoke experts. Their beans have beautiful chunks of pork and taste fabulous. Their smoked Mac and cheese is divine. This place is so good. We stopped by after a Sunday morning hike at Hemlock Falls and it was the perfect way to start the day. This place blew me away harder than that tornado I was caught in when I was 6 years old, which destroyed my life because I landed in Georgia when I used to live in Kansas. Thank god that tornado did destroy my family though, because it brought me to this place. TB&J BBQ is an experience like no other. They had the cheapest damn price to portion sizes I'd ever seen. Me and my friend got a pulled pork sandwich, bbq plate, 5 wings, with coleslaw smoked Mac and baked beans. In addition to this we got the biggest god damn sweet tea id ever seen (and it was only the small) and a pint of banana pudding. The guy at the front counter was pretty nice and accommodating. He did try to warn me that the wings were too big and might not be able to finish all 5 and the sandwich. Clearly he does not know who I am. The lady in the back was cooking the food and running it as well and she was so nice. The food was amazing, and I would go so far to say that it's better than your step-uncles annual family cookout, which he never seems to be sober for. Yelp wants me to talk about the ambiance. It's a damn red shack. You'd think that it would be messy or whatever inside if you're a judgmental person just based on the size. If you did think that maybe you should stop thinking like that, because here you are reading the reviews for this place you previously judged and haven't went too yet. You're missing out. Anyways as previously mentioned- it's a little red shack. The seating is outside so if it's raining be prepared to run to your car and violently cry if you slip and drop your BBQ. What a treat! My husband and I happened upon this place while on a day trip in the area. The Yelp reviews looked pretty good...and this place didn't disappoint! The ribs were so tender the meat fell off the bone, the pulled pork was smoky and delicious, and the baked beans were yummy! The couple who owns the place were so nice. It's just a small building off the side of the road, but the BBQ is awesome! We literally passed it, and saw "WINGS" on the sign and pulled over. Awesome BBQ smoked wings. Some of the best wings I've ever had. They are doing it right with a smoker in the back. They also serve pulled pork. Baked beans side were hot and delicious. It was a gorgeous day and no one else was there, so we sat out in the back on the picnic tables. Just glorious!! The service was great too. Come hungry, the portions are generous without breaking the bank. I recommend the pulled pork, it's got plenty of good smoke flavor and no sight of dryness. Basically a small bbq shack but there is outdoor seating. The service was excellent, the people here are very friendly. Everything I ordered was delicious. Best potato salad I have ever had. They load up the sandwiches with pulled pork. Even the sauces were delicious. We had our dogs with us and they gave each of them a pork bone so they were pretty happy, they even gave us extra bones to tale home for the dogs. Ordered 20 wings total with 4 different flavors. After finding hair on the 3 different flavors took them back. A total of 5 wings had hair on them. The couple that did get eaten was over cooked. They were burnt on the outside. I expected the wings to be replaced but they was out of wings. With very limited options here to eat I asked for the pulled pork even though they didn't offer any substitute. I felt like I was bothering them even though this was their fault. Customer service can go a long ways in this situation. The wings was $1.25 per. The pork was much cheaper so I had to ask for my money back in the difference which was $11. Got the pork home and was severally disappointed. The "bark" of the pork was so hard you couldn't bite it. The flavor of it was lacking. Over half of the pound of meat that I purchased had to be thrown away. I will NEVER eat there again. Better options in Clayton or can make them at home.
