So let me preface this by saying I'm not an expert in BBQ however, I do have a lot of experience dealing with the "best". My past reviews include, Joes from Kansas City, The Shed from Mississippi, Big Bob Gibson's in Alabama along with another place that won awards, Blacks in Texas where BBQ began, other Texas places that said they were the best, 4 Rivers Smokehouse from the original location that was ranked 4th in the nation in Florida, bbq in Chattanooga and tons of other places which were ranked nationally and locally. Please read my other reviews. So we came here after helping someone that was stuck at long creek hike. So I found this place and asked my wife to go here. To my surprise, Jim's Smokin Que has won numerous awards. So we pulled up and the place was already humming. Cool shows the place is good in the middle of nowhere. We walked in and met Jolie. Very nice girl. Bubbly personality. She talked us into the chicken sausage which is her favorite. We also got 3 other meats of ribs, pulled pork and brisket. Jolie said the ribs are award winning and the pork and brisket are people's favorites. She also said the macaroni salad is also award winning and is different from a classic macaroni salad. Beans were very good as well as the collard greens. She then offered to give us samples of whatever we want. She gave us a sample of the collard greens which won my wife over. We then ordered the 4 meats with 2 sides. We got the ribs, brisket, pork and chicken sausage and got beans, collard greens and macaroni salad which we paid extra for. We then got our food. So here is where once you say you're award winning or something is the best where the feet hit the pavement. If this was a normal place and didn't have numerous articles about award winning I would give this place an overall 5 star but a 4.5 overall. However, due to it needing to be judged by their awards I have to be fair. The ribs were very good. Thick, 3 ribs, tasty and sweet. The pork was good, tasty but ran a little dry. The brisket was good however, again a little dry. The chicken sausage was good. Reminded me of like a Chicago sausage with the peppers and onions. The pork and brisket weren't dry where I needed water to drink after but wasn't moist as it should have been. The beans were really good. Sweet with pork and delicious. The collard greens were good. My wife loved them. The macaroni was my wife's favorite thing. The bbq sauces are homemade and thick. Very good. We then got to go another order of macaroni and the peanut butter chocolate pie. The chocolate pie was good. Very sweet. Not really a pie. More of a pudding. Overall, for it being an award winner, I think the pork and brisket lost points. Still very good overall. 4.25 I'd give it.

Great flavor! I was only getting a snack so I picked up a pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. I also had a side of Carolina sauce which was vinagry (?) and a bit spicy. The pulled pork was excellent, one of the best I've had traveling across GA. You may find the best BBQ in a shack or a food truck, and this place is not exactly either but it delivers. Unfortunately, I had no time to sample other items. I wanted the smoked then fried wings, and obviously a rack of ribs.

A must-try for BBQ lovers! We had an incredible experience at Jim's Smokin' Que! We ordered the pork ribs, brisket, and pulled pork -- and each one was absolutely exceptional. Perfectly smoked, tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. To top it off, we tried the peanut butter pie -- and WOW. It was rich, creamy, and delicious. Definitely save room for dessert! The service was excellent, fast and friendly, and the restaurant was spotless and beautifully maintained. It's clear the team takes pride in everything they do. If you're anywhere near, this place is a must-visit. Southern BBQ done right!

Welp, you have found it, the Holy Grail of BBQ. No words. Absolutely the most delicious BBQ ever. It's a small restaurant that's easy to find with plenty of parking (there's even a side lot). They have indoor seating, as well as several outside areas (porch & deck area to side of building). Knew we were in for a treat when the parking lot was popping. You go inside to order at a counter and they bring you the food regardless of where you sit - they will find you. They do have small little shelf or two of some cool retail items. They have an extensive menu of all things BBQ and all the fixings that go along with it. They even have banana pudding. We got chicken wings, ribs, then a two meat platter (brisket & pulled pork) that came with two sides (sweet potato fries & baked beans). I don't even know here to start. Just get one of everything! Seriously. Whatever you order will be good. The pulled pork was smoky and delightful. The ribs fall off of the bone and have a terrific bark on them. The winds were crunchy and good as well. Brisket - juicy and moist. The sweet potato fries were good as were the baked beans. It's hard to pick a side. Would be super cool if they had like a flight of sides - little 2oz containers of all they offer for a set price. I feel like I missed out on some good food. LOL They do have large containers of different homemade sauces for your meats. Nice options and variety. However, you won't need them. They have little containers to take food to go. This is important as they load up your plate! The value and quality is crazy. Super reasonable prices. If I weren't on a road trip, I would have gotten much more to go as I will be thinking about this deliciousness for quite some time. Wonderful!!! The people working here are delightful and super patient as you go into a trance trying to figure out what to get as your nose has been held hostage by the terrific smells coming from meat paradise. Do not skip this as a spot to eat. You won't regret it. I don't know who Jim is, but I would be his BFF. That man's got some serious talent. Thanks for sharing it..

This is a good stop on a country drive. Very clean restaurants . They even have an old fashioned hand cleaning sink.we got the chicken and brisket combo. The chicken was delicious. The brisket was juicy and cooked right. The grits were very good. The potato salad was fresh and tasty. The service is very friendly. They only have a few sauces. Hot was ok . Sweet was too sweet. They didn't have a mustard flavor sauce. Ice tea was good also.

We were introduced to this amazing barbecue place by our friends who took us here for lunch the other day. It's amazing how much driving you have to do to get to different restaurants in this area. But definitely worth it. Apparently it's very popular and people even stop by just to take a picture of the outside. No judgment here since my life revolves around taking photos of businesses and writing my honest review about them. So my best bet when deciding on what to order is ordering the exact same thing my friend ordered since this is his go to place. So I'll have what he's having. The brisket was my favorite and all for that creamy mac & cheese. There is a side table where you can pour your own different sauces to have with your meal. Of course, I took one of each and was not disappointed. The food was definitely made with such love and there is an art to cooking up BBQ. I highly recommend taking that long drive to the side of the road restaurant and ordering one of each.

Wish I had taken a photo but the food was gone before I thought about it. Jim's is really good and they have high volume down to a science. It was very busy in there as usual but we didn't wait long and our food was great! I love good bbq and their sauces, which I bought to take home as well, is really tasty. They're very close to where I live so we go there at least once a month. Never disappoints. I had the smoked turkey and my girlfriend had the pulled pork. The picture is a screen shot from their website.

Holy cannoli that was a ton of food. I got the 2 side pork plate. You get a bun so I made a sandwich. Then basically had a full meal left. I ended up turning it into a salad but instead of lettuce I used fries. It's decisions like this that causes me to hid these reviews from my wife. Get extra sauce because you get so much food. Everything was good but I need a nap now.

this brisket looks more like wood than meat. It was sliced the opposite way and they never offered to fix it.

First time eating here was special but today was not worth the drive. I ordered 2 meats and 2 sides and asked for ribs to try and the first time the cashier put 3 rib boned added to my meal for a charge of course. I ordered the same thing today Brisket, 1/2 Chicken and 3 bones to taste the ribs again. Look at the pictures and the bill to see what they did. I didn't think it was funny and when I said something to the wait person they seamed to blow it off. Also notice in the pictures how they sliced the brisket. It was sliced with the grain and so dry and hard I chopped it up for the dog when I got home. When I said something about the brisket being sliced the opposite way I was told they were very busy today, honestly they never even fixed it, replaced it or anything. I don't need handouts but when you screw up you don't tell the customer that you were busy. What pittmaster slices brisket with the grain instead of against???? I just wanted it re-done and sliced right. See the pictures below. I smoke my own meat at home so I know how to slice brisket. It was an hour drive waisted.

Best BBQ around! Team is amazing! Bring your pups and eat on the deck! Always welcome! Ask for a water bowl for your pup and they will bring it right out!

I wanted to try their pancakes but didn't want a full stack, and our server Robin was wonderful in recommending the Sweet Start. One thing we really appreciated is that all breakfast entrees include coffee or tea, and the prices are already very reasonable. We were also pleasantly surprised to learn that even though we ordered specialty coffees, we could still enjoy complimentary refills of regular coffee. The restaurant has a charming and unique atmosphere, with every table looking a little different from the next. For my meal, I ordered the Sweet Start, which included one pancake, eggs, and bacon. I also appreciated the transparency from the staff. When I asked for an extra serving of their homemade pecan butter, I was informed upfront that there would be an additional charge....a level of honesty that's surprisingly rare these days. My husband ordered the Banana Nut French Toast comes with homemade whipped cream and homemade pecan butter, which also came with bacon. He added a side of eggs as well. Everything was delicious. I'm especially particular about pancakes, and I can honestly say they serve some of the best pancakes I've had. The food was excellent, the service was friendly and attentive, and what stood out most was how genuinely happy all the staff seemed to be. It created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made our visit even more enjoyable. We would definitely return the next time we're in the area.

It was absolutely delicious. We went by the farm store for lunch, so we split a Philly cheese steak. It was made with prime rib and absolutely would melt in your mouth. When we went back for dinner, my wife had the all you can eat catfish and I had the Cod and shrimp. Both were out of this world. The cod had a nice crunchy batter and came with fries, coleslaw, and fried okra. I substituted green beans instead of coleslaw. The catfish had a nice texture and my wife thoroughly enjoyed it. We both had the all you can drink juice bar, which was kind of an interesting touch. You could select from both versions of tea lemonade, and cranberry juice. I figured this was a more economical choice than the individual sodas. Speaking of, they had some rarely seen in Georgia sodas such as cheerwine. Service was great too an hour server was just as down home as she could be. We had some nice conversation with her as well. I seem to remember some review mentioning No Air conditioning. It was served over a bed of mashed potatoes with a side of green beans. We shared an order of lava cake. Arriving with whipped cream & a scoop of vanilla ice cream all were greatly satisfied. The only negative is because the floors are wood, and not carpet, the acoustics are quite "echoey". Plus we arrived at the height of the Sunday brunch crowd. Therefore, this made it a challenge for our 93 year old friend with hearing aids to understand the conversation. The restaurant is a big hall with no booths. The chairs are comfortable.
