If you're looking for the BBQ dive style restaurant shack then this is your place. Walking up I could tell this was going to be a fun place but it also had amazing BBQ. There is so much space in the front with cornhole boards or just to hang out. When we walked In I could tell this was going to be amazing BBQ. Writing on the walls and chairs, menus board hanging on the wall and daily specials written on chalk boards. Or orders were quickly taken by a very efficient hostess the. We grabbed a seat. I ordered brisket and pork with collards and cobbler. My wife ordered the same with the grits and my son had the side of Mac and cheese with his brisket. The brisket slices were think and it was really well cooked. The pork was awesome but the sides were out of this world. Every single one of them was perfect. There were four BBQ sauces to choose from, Eastern NC style, hot, mild and mustard. I am not a huge fan of mustard BBQ (I'm from NC, IYKYK) but I'll say this was the best I had. The hot was my favorite and it had just the right amount of heat. For those that may be concerned about the description of the writing on the walls and divey spot don't be. This is my second trip to The Smokin' Pig and I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Expect a little bit of a wait but they have outdoor cornhole games and putt-putt while you wait. I'm not the biggest fan of brisket when visiting BBQ restaurants but theirs is amazing and I highly recommend it! I learned the hard way on my first visit and my son allowed me to try some of his. The sides are very simple but they compliment the BBQ. Fried okra was fresh and cooked to perfection. The jalapeño cheese grits are unbelievable and a must try! The facilities at the Anderson Pendleton location has dramatically expanded & improved from the little gas station turn restaurant it once was. Still located in the station, they have added more seating to accommodate the growing community. The menu has grown as well, adding more meat, side, desserts & pork rinds, all while retaining the home cooked flavor you've come to expect. The holes were too easy. Enough ranting, let's get to the food. The water was cold and the lemon had more juice than any lemon wedge I've ever had. The Mac and cheese was incredible. It was smooth and rich. The roll was hot and buttery. Melts in your mouth. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and the mustard base barbecue went perfect with the glaze. Every time I visit my Dad in Seneca we come here. Absolutely the best barbecue I have ever had. Recently I had the pulled pork plate with fries and fried okra. Miller Light to drink. Last time I had the pulled pork sandwich. The sweet potato crunch is awesome. My Dad said try the cobbler next time. My gf really enjoyed the dry rub ribs and green beans. The potato casserole was just okay and I was given a roll instead of the cornbread I asked for so I was a tiny bit disappointed there. Not pictured is the banana pudding, which was absolutely perfect. The wafers weren't all completely decimated and there were real banana chunks. The outside seating/bar area was really nice so if one ever back in the area I would definitely go back and sit outside! I'd also try more of the sides since there are so many options. Absolutely 10/10. The best dry rub ribs in the US in my opinion. Sides are absolutely delicious, and so many options. You must find the time to eat here if you love BBQ. You order your food, find a table to eat, and then enjoy the experience. We lucked out and had Ann as our waitress. She was fabulous. She was engaging and inquiring and always made certain we had what we needed. We had the Pork, Brisket, and Ribs combo with coleslaw and fries. And finished off the meal with Apple Cobbler.
