Jr pulled pork sandwich. Ribs, brisket, and pulled pork with some jalapeño cheddar grits and sweet potato casserole in the foreground.

Never disappoints!! The meat and sides are legit bbq. Nice smoke flavor, delicious sauce and juicy meat they get every side right too!! The sweet tea is spot on too. Not overly sweet, but you can taste tea. This place rocks! Our server was great and I like how you fill out your charge receipt AFTER you eat so you can tip the servers appropriately. Can't wait for summer and enjoying the massive outdoor space too

This is my second trip to The Smokin' Pig and I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Expect a little bit of a wait but they have outdoor cornhole games and putt-putt while you wait. I'm not the biggest fan of brisket when visiting BBQ restaurants but theirs is amazing and I highly recommend it! I learned the hard way on my first visit and my son allowed me to try some of his. The sides are very simple but they compliment the BBQ. Fried okra was fresh and cooked to perfection. The jalapeño cheese grits are unbelievable and a must try! Service was a group effort by several waitresses who took good care of us. If you ever near Clemson, I would definitely make this a stop.

Had another great meal at the smokin pig. The food was so delicious. We ordered so much to try. Service was just great. The restaurant was super clean as always. They never disappoint.

We stopped in for a late lunch before heading to the mountains. I got the chopped chicken and pulled pork with mac and cheese and sweet potato crunch. The meats were flavorful and the Mac and cheese was good. I'd definitely return if in the area and wanting bbq.

This place was top notch for some southern bbq. It was crowded on a Saturday night. But we ended up getting a table for 9 people. I got the pulled pork sandwich and sweet potatoes fries. They were delicious. And there was an array of sauces on the table. I loved how you could play cornhole after dinner and get a drink at the bar outside. This is a great place to catch up with a larger party of family or friends.

Every time I visit my Dad in Seneca we come here. Absolutely the best barbecue I have ever had. Recently I had the pulled pork plate with fries and fried okra. Miller Light to drink. Last time I had the pulled pork sandwich. The sweet potato crunch is awesome. My Dad said try the cobbler next time. My gf really enjoyed the dry rub ribs and green beans. Solid service and great ambiance. We sit in the bigger building out back. You can play corn hole or put the golf ball around. Take your picture out front with the pink pig.

We ordered online so there was no wait at all. The meat was delicious and not dry at all, plus it was a huge portion. The potato casserole was just okay and I was given a roll instead of the cornbread I asked for so I was a tiny bit disappointed there. Not pictured is the banana pudding, which was absolutely perfect. The wafers weren't all completely decimated and there were real banana chunks. The outside seating/bar area was really nice so if one ever back in the area I would definitely go back and sit outside! I'd also try more of the sides since there are so many options. Overall I think it's worth the hype to try it since the meat really is good!

CLEMSON!!!!! You have delicious BBQ!!!! Great vibes in this fun spot to grab BBQ. Ordered the Brisket and chopped pork plate with Mac n cheese and cobbler as my two sides. Huge portions and it only cost $19!!! I asked for burnt ends for my brisket and they gave me the end piece with lots of bark. Everything was delicious but I was not el expecting how delicious the warm fresh baked roll would be! Almost went and asked for more but I was so full!!! They have 4 different house made BBQ sauces at your table. My favorite was the spicy one but the mustard base sauce was good too. Servers are super friendly and have a "team approach" where they are all checking on you. Will definitely be back!

Great food but you need to be willing to wait. We waited over 2.5 hours. Get there early to avoid this. They have games and mini golf outside to play while you wait. Their food is great, I recommend the Mac and cheese as a side. It is a very casual restaurant.

One of the best BBQ places in the Southeast. Everything about it is great. Jalapeño Cheese Grits should be preserved as a southern treasure.

I ordered at the eindow so didn't go inside. Service was nice, I waited in the arts of the picture. I had read about this place and was really excited but it was just ok. I ordered pulled pork - perhaps they ate known for another dish? I even asked the girl at the window and she just said it was all good. Anyway, funky building seems like it would be fun.

Great barbecue. Probably the best in the area. The only problem is that they are not open all week.

Way over priced ribs were good but the brisket was so dry putting bbq sauce on it didn't help.

Hidden Gem Alert…read more Some places spend millions trying to manufacture "authentic." The Open Door at Alley's Ol' Store apparently skipped that meeting and just kept being authentic. The building looks exactly like what you'd hope to stumble across while wandering the North Georgia mountains. Rustic. Colorful. Cozy. The kind of place that makes you instinctively slow down because you know there's probably something interesting inside. Parking is a bit of a scavenger hunt, but that's part of the adventure. If you're expecting a six-level parking garage with valet service, you've made several wrong turns. The staff immediately made us feel like we'd wandered into Papaw's store and the grandkids were helping out for the afternoon. Two young ladies were running the place, one at the register and one making sandwiches. They weren't reciting a corporate script or trying to upsell me a rewards program. They were just genuinely friendly people who actually seemed happy we stopped in. Imagine that. This isn't a restaurant pretending to be a country store. It is a country store. There's no fancy dining room either. You can eat on the little front porch if it's available, but we grabbed our sandwiches and walked across the street to the riverside park. Honestly, I can't think of many lunches that end with eating beside a mountain river and making a few casts with a fishing rod before heading down the road. That's hard to beat. Now let's talk sandwiches. Three of us ordered the Harvest. Presentation? Maybe a 7 out of 10. Nobody is arranging edible flowers with tweezers back there. It's toasted store-bought bread filled with ingredients that simply belong together. Sometimes food doesn't need to perform gymnastics. It just needs to taste good. And it did. Every bite reminded me that somewhere along the way we've confused "artisan presentation" with "good cooking." The Harvest isn't trying to become internet famous. It's just quietly being delicious. My brother ordered the meatloaf sandwich, and if he wasn't already family, I probably would've stolen half of it. He declared it fantastic with exactly the right amount of condiments. The grandkids inhaled their grilled cheese and ham & cheese without a single negotiation, which every parent knows is basically a Michelin star. One thing that really caught my attention was the steady parade of locals coming in for takeout. That's the kind of review you can't fake. Locals vote with their wallets every day, and this place clearly keeps getting elected. Here's another tip: don't skip the neighboring art gallery. My daughter wandered in and came back smiling. The manager wasn't just selling artwork. She was telling stories. She explained the history of the area, how it shaped the artists, and why certain pieces existed. You could tell she genuinely loved what she was talking about. That's becoming a rare commodity these days. By the time we left, I realized something. The Open Door doesn't have the polish of a big destination restaurant. It doesn't need dramatic plating, twelve-word menu descriptions, or foam strategically placed with tweezers. It has something much harder to create. Character. If you're driving through Lakemont, call ahead if you're in a hurry. If you're not, browse the store, visit the gallery, grab a sandwich, walk across to the river, and stay awhile. Some places feed your stomach. Places like this feed your trip. That's the definition of a hidden gem.

We stopped in with our grandkids to get desserts after picnicking at the park across the road. I…read morehave a small service dog for a serious medical condition. She rolled her eyes and nodded her head and said "ohhhhkayyyyyy" and walked back behind the counter. We left without patronizing this establishment.
