What I like the best is this: our sessions are carefully planned to address all of my individual goal areas. She mixes up the exercises keeps me motivated. She "multi-tasks" the exercises which focus on one than one muscle group. Best of all she is very fun to work with. I recently had a shoulder replacement. There's a great 20-20 deal for first-timers to Martha's studio where you get 20 days of yoga for $20 ...yep, really. It's a great deal and gave me the push I needed to finally give this studio a try. I have chronic severe pain in my neck, so thought I'd give yoga a try. I walked into the Martha Gordon Yoga Studio completely new to yoga and to be honest, quite nervous because I have astonishingly inflexible muscles. Martha has been great about offering modifications for me to safely perform the workouts and, having just completed my final day of the 20-20 deal, I was thrilled to realize that for the first time in my life, I can touch my hands flat to the floor without bending my knees! - I could previously only graze the top of my feet with the tip of my fingers. We were in a tournament run by the Palestra this past weekend. I'm knocking a star off this review because there were a handful of things I'd have done differently in regards to the tournament planning. (Notably; we were at TWO locations for the tournament vs one, our games were super duper late and finally, we had to provide a parent to run the scoreboard.) The Palestra is a great addition to the area!!

Just ask the person in your seat to put your coat there when they are through. And for Pete's sake don't let your children practice dribbling between this mom and the game I'm trying to watch. I shouldn't have to ask your children to move!! My son's team did amazing and sadly went home with medals that weren't even intended for them. Some were baseball, not basketball, so yes I'm upset with the facility, but I'm more upset that parents can't work together to support our amazing kiddos.

They were very prompt to follow up and schedule my appointment. A couple days later I was getting stretched in a very nice and clean facility by Delaney. They explained the whole process, asked me some questions and got me on the table. I appreciate that everyone there has certification and most have studied in a related field -like exercise science. My back felt amazing leaving. Delaney had me walk around to make sure I was happy and I look forward to being a regular costumer in one of their monthly tier programs.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this academy. The students were all welcoming and friendly and the instructor (John) did an excellent job breaking down technique and also explaining why the technique should be used. What I thought was really cool was that the class instruction was based around some things John had noticed from other competitors at a recent competition. He broke down what he was seeing and taught solutions to techniques that were being used. The skill level of the various belts was on par if not higher than many of the academies I have trained at along the west coast. There is a misconception that 'not a lot of jiujitsu gets in and out of middle America' and I can reassure that this is clearly not the case at Tipping Point. These guys are tough! I had a lot of fun training here and will absolutely visit again the next time I'm in town.

I have done CrossFit for over two years and before that worked out at one of the bigger gyms in North liberty, regularly attending their group fitness classes. I say that to level set my experience. I guess I was expecting more of the pseudo high intensity classes that are offered at the bigger gym. You know what I am talking about. The type of class where more attention is paid to the activewear that someone is wearing as opposed to the actual workout intensity that they are putting forth. Let me tell you. The work out at versa was intense! I can honestly say that it was one of the more high intensity workouts that I have done in a long time. While it did not focus on the weightlifting aspect that I was used to from CrossFit, I found the cardio portion just as intense. Before the work out began I felt there was an adequate amount of time dedicated to stretching and warming up. While the workout was going the instructors were supportive and helpful in their coaching. While I am not a member I would not hesitate to recommend this location to anyone looking for a high-intensity workout.

I had run on (almost) the daily on my treadmill. But man... something was missing. Enter Versa Fitness. Let me rewind a minute. Yelp had an event with them a couple months ago and I have NEVER been so sore after a workout. But I had also never felt so ACCOMPLISHED. I am a sucker for a runners high -- stress melting away with elation and a decreased ability to feel pain due to the endorphins released after countless miles. But, with Versa. I'll take all the pain for the gain. (Cause trust me... there will be some pain.) After the Yelp event, I wanted to join right then and there. No joke. But with a little still at home and constantly being a mom taxi... plus the gym being ALLLLLL the way across town from me... it's just not in the cards. Yet. Anyways. Imagine my excitement when I saw Versa was offering twice a day classes online during this hot mess? AND that they were free?! Nick, Josh and Ashley are amazing to workout with. So much passion and knowledge. (And did I mention heart? The gym literally loaned almost all of their equipment out to members when this COVID-19 businesses shut them down.) Last night I enjoyed a wonderful kettlebell class with Ashley. We did three sets of four exercises -- four times. What an amazing way to destress as you quarantine! They even have body weight only options for exercises... so no equipment necessary. Thanks, Versa Fitness!
