I didn't feel like the movements were too difficult for my skill level (which is more of a beginner, closer to intermediate I'd say), and there were a variety of options for all skill levels so that you didn't feel left out. This class wasn't incredibly serious, but it was more laidback and fun. That is also something I really enjoy because I feel less stressed/anxious. If anything, the smiles and laughter kept me interested and made me feel like I've been going there for ages. If you want to go out and try something new without the feeling of judgement then I highly recommend! Plus you get to work out while having fun! Sounds like a win/win to me. They are trained and certified to make modifications when necessary to help you keep the proper form & alignment to protect you from injury. I like the variety of clients at this studio ... male/female, young/old, fit/not so fit ... and the classes easily accommodate experienced and novice side by side. I love the variety of classes and each instructor has his/her own style so you may want to try several classes to find the right fit. The classes are reasonably priced and you can schedule online or with their mobile app ... very convenient! I like to participate in the many studio "challenges" they offer because it helps me stay engaged and there are great prizes! In April 2016 I was introduced to CrossFit and specifically the coaches here. The coaches invest themselves into your training and well being as an athlete. They balance pushing you to do your best with knowing your current limitations. Each workout is tailored to your individual needs and individual coaching is given throughout the entire session. I cannot recommend this box highly enough. Not only are the coaches friendly and welcoming, your fellow box members are also wonderful individuals who cheer and encourage you every session.

The yoga class was great and the star of the show was the instructor Hanna. I was in the beginner class and the pace of the class was good enough that I could keep up. The lighting and music was perfect for some yoga although the music kept getting interrupted ever so often. Both Hanna and the person assisting her went around the class correcting everyone's postures. She was funny and very encouraging which is always a plus. The cherry on top was the quick neck massage at the very end, which I did not expect! Gotta love those surprises.

I took the Saturday beginner class which was recorded live for her virtual students around the country. It was a beautiful class. I had never done this series of postures in this sequence before. The instruction was wonderful. I can't wait to join in again. I am from out of town and am even considering doing the virtual classes when I am not in town. I just love spending time and learning from such present instructors to help me deepen my practice and Martha's Yoga Studio is a beautiful place to do so in a small, yet powerful setting.

There's a great 20-20 deal for first-timers to Martha's studio where you get 20 days of yoga for $20 ...yep, really. It's a great deal and gave me the push I needed to finally give this studio a try. I have chronic severe pain in my neck, so thought I'd give yoga a try. I walked into the Martha Gordon Yoga Studio completely new to yoga and to be honest, quite nervous because I have astonishingly inflexible muscles. Martha has been great about offering modifications for me to safely perform the workouts and, having just completed my final day of the 20-20 deal, I was thrilled to realize that for the first time in my life, I can touch my hands flat to the floor without bending my knees! - I could previously only graze the top of my feet with the tip of my fingers. Huzzah! I can't wait to continue learning yoga in this supporting and uplifting atmosphere. I'm so glad I gave this studio a try.

It's not too crowded, and it's open 24-7. If you are a MAC member you can go here, or any other facility which is a nice benefit too. The only downside is that they don't have lockers, but otherwise I have been very happy coming here when I want to swing in for a quick workout in a comfortable environment.

The Palestra has four courts-- for basketball or volleyball with a handful of batting cages and pickleball courts! You can conveniently rent courts online. We were in a tournament run by the Palestra this past weekend. I'm knocking a star off this review because there were a handful of things I'd have done differently in regards to the tournament planning. (Notably; we were at TWO locations for the tournament vs one, our games were super duper late and finally, we had to provide a parent to run the scoreboard.) Just ask the person in your seat to put your coat there when they are through. And for Pete's sake don't let your children practice dribbling between this mom and the game I'm trying to watch. I shouldn't have to ask your children to move!! My son's team did amazing and sadly went home with medals that weren't even intended for them. Some were baseball, not basketball, so yes I'm upset with the facility, but I'm more upset that parents can't work together to support our amazing kiddos.
