I really want to love this park because it's so close to me. My dogs love coming to romp around the dog park. There are two separate fenced areas, each with water hoses and toys. Sometimes poop bags are available and other times they aren't. I'd recommend bringing your own or recycle a plastic grocery store bag. No one wants to step in that mess. Trees offer some shade. There are several benches around the dog park to take a break on. They have also recently added some agility poles which my border collie goes bananas for so that's a big plus! The people are usually very friendly and from around the area. Other than the dog park, there are separate gravel and concreted trails for runners and bikers. There is also a playground, softball/baseball field, and disc golf course. Lacking a star because I don't always feel totally safe there. I wish they'd turn on the lights sooner before sunset, maybe add more of them. There is usually glass in the parking lot from where someone's car has been broken into. read more

A giant dirt pit, or mud pit when it's wet. Bring a towel! Only real water feature are the baby pools patrons have supplied. Dog parks are not well maintained other than mowing, and even that sometimes is lacking with knee high weeds. On the positive my dog loves it no less!!! Unfortunately, my dog is targeted every time we go here. She's young but we never have issues at other dog parks. Tanglewood and bill archer are great for my pup. No bad dogs - just bad owners at tc jester. When we have visited tc jester dog park, she's covered in spikey burrs, mud and dust... the park is not well maintained and has a broken fence. What a shame for the cost of living around this area. read more

I've come here a couple times to play disc golf. The course is pretty well maintained. It has 21 holes, and each hole has blue and white tees for different skill levels. The park is nice. If you have dogs there is a nice dog park one side for little dogs and one side for big dogs. It would be better if the playground had sand! Other then that it's an okay park in an okay neighborhood. read more

Traveling through the area I stopped in and met up with the local Houston Flying Disc Golf Society, as they have mini events on Sunday's. The park survived the floods well and the disc golf course is improving with their dedicated work. Great park and a fun 21 hole course to play. read more

This review is limited to the disc golf course at the park. Best disc golf course park in the city of Houston! The course features a mix of 21 mostly open holes, with some trees in play. Dual tees with unique use of the bayou geography including a throw over White Oak Bayou. The nature trail on the course is a nice aesthetic feature. If you play all 21 holes then you have walked 3.7 miles. There are a couple of areas where you have to walk a little bit to get to additional holes, but it is worth it! read more

Awesome place for dogs to run and play except for the assholes who think their dogs shouldn't have to be with other dogs.

This is a nice place to go jogging through. However the dog park I would not recommend. The reason is because the last dog I had he went there and he got a disease from there (we think) and he died. So I wouldn't recommend the dog park, but I would the jogging trail. The pool however, I also wouldn't recommend. The reason is because they got rid of the high dive and the diving boards. I mean who wants a slide? Not me! read more

This dog park is unkept. It gets extremely muddy and the grass is patchy. The 3 times I have come the people don't really monitor their dogs nor clean up after them. I would not recommend this dog park unless you have no other option. read more

Would not recommend this dog park to anyone. The size of each section is decent enough but there is a sparse amount of grass, no water feature and parking is only on a busy street unless you park in the shared lot for the entire playground and park which is far from the dog part. I would hate to see it after rainfall because it would legitimately be a pool of mud. read more

This review is for the pool part of the park only. I love TC Jester park otherwise. I guess the news reports in the city pools didn't do much to change things around here. Lifeguards need to enforce dress code of swim wear attire ONLY! It is very disturbing to see women in khaki shorts that are are through with red panties and sports bras. Yes, you could see her panties because the shorts exams transparent once he got into the pool. Also, there were men wearing basketball shorts and underwear too. You can get really cheap swimwear at Walmart and Target people!!!! Just tacky. None of the lifeguards were on their cell phones that I noticed so good job with that. I think the pressure on the splash pad is a little too...pressurized... I saw a couple of boys sitting on the stream when it came on and yelled "look it's going up my butt!" That was rather disturbing. Parents I think your boys need to speak with a therapist and maybe need an etiquette class.... When it came time for the lifeguards to take a break I sat down on one of the lounge chairs. The woman next to me ignored her child when she kept saying she has to pee. The child then decided to pee on the concrete RIGHT NEXT TO ME. The woman's response was "I guess you really did have to go!" She took her to rinse her off but didn't notify anyone that her child peed where people WALK BAREFOOTED. So my friend went and told the lifeguard. They did come over and spray the area with bleach. The same lifeguard was on the stand the whole time. There were others siting in the office and at a table. Why are we paying these people to sit in an office and not in the chairs? Also, open the deep end for people to swim in that can pass the test. You have enough life guards to do it. I'm not 5 and sliding down a slide isn't appealing to me. You took away the diving boards. You could at least let those who can swim actually swim! read more

I have been in Houston most of my life and I love discovering new parks to go to. This park is close by where I live and I love it. The trails are long and spacious great for jogging, and bicycling. They even have a cute little dog park. It's a complete park great for taking the family on a beautiful day. read more

We live right across from this park and go nearly every day. We truly enjoy it but there is much room for improvement. It's a public park so it's always trashed after holidays in the spring, summer, and fall. The pool is public as well which I feel should be changed to a community pool. This park used to be known as a bad area but has slowly over the years become nicer with very little crime. I have faith it will continue to get better! read more

Nice park to walk at plenty of area to walk miles long. If you want a park you can feel safe at go here there are plenty of ppl that walks. After 4 is where most of the ppl walk here but that's the best time for me being That I walk three miles at the least and someone's always around. The scenery is beautiful and they have a pet park where you can take your dogs too also a playground thays kept clean. The soccer field is spacious also . read more

The dog park itself is decent size to accommodate a large number of dogs. There is also a separate area for smaller dogs. The dogs always seem to enjoy the time spent running and playing with other dogs. Benches are set up around the park so that you can have a seat while watching your dog play. My main complaint is the walk to the dog park. It is a minefield of dog feces. You have to watch your step or your shoes could be ruined in an instant. There are dog bags readily available but I guess they just aren't put to use. read more

This park is pretty big. Lots of running/walking/biking trails but look out for the bikers if you're walking. There is a Frisbee golf course (look out for flying Frisbees too). The dog park is a nice size and always has people but is never too crowded. There is a pool, swing set and plenty of space to run around. Big parking lot with parking on the street too. Good place to bring the dogs/kids! read more

The renovations are nice compared to what was there but the splash pad area is TINY and pretty boring. If it was anything like the Bellaire Town Square or West U pool, it would be an amazing family spot. Also, I'm hoping this is just a delayed renovation, but nothing was done about the ugly, old playground. Parts of it is plain dangerous (try to get your toddler to climb that 'chain' ladder). As old as our area is, it's a shame that no mature trees surround the playground area so the kids don't fry while they play. read more

With it getting dark earlier I have been going to this park more often than the Hwy 1960 dog park. I am happy to see people are still coming out with there pooches. With this area being smaller there are a few more skirmishes that I would hope, but with the cooler weather I am convinved it makes a few dogs crazy. read more

Came here for the Disc Golf course. 21 Holes and not too shabby. Good mix of different obstacles and distances. There is a little bit of a water hazard on a couple holes, with some lightly wooded holes as well. It is a pretty big course so have your walking shoes on. Overall great course for all levels of play. read more

I took my dog here on Friday morning for his first visit to the dog park. In short, the dog park is ok but could be better. The owners and their dogs have good manners and it seems like people follow the rules. The dogs played well together and there wasn't any weird social behaviors or aggression when I was here. I also didn't see dog poop anywhere, so that's a huge plus. I'm giving the park an average rating because there's pretty much little to no grass in the big or small dog areas so the dogs get really dirty and it gets dusty if there's a lot of dogs running around. There was also a broken pipe or something because there was water that leaked all over the entrance to the dog park, which made the grassless surface an even bigger nuisance. However, there were hoses in the dog park so that you could rinse your dogs off. read more

I have lived in this part of town for 18 years now, and we have always passed this park going here and there. It has changed SO much. Since the changes I'm noticing its is getting used more as well, which is good. So I started driving over there to walk my dog to check it out. I was pleasantly surprised. The people are really friendly, its well kept an maintained and the trees provide a ton of shade. Yes it does attract more of an older crowd due to the surrounding area, but that doesn't bother me. In fact I think I even like it better because it keeps it kind of low key lol. The dog park is really nice, although I haven't actually taken my dog in there...the other dogs seem to really enjoy it though. The finally finished the parking lot by the pool (they spent the last couple months redoing it) so there is plenty of parking. Whenever the weather starts to cool down I will definitely take my dogs here more often or go for a nice jog or walk. read more

T.C. Jester Park is a Northwest Houston Treasure! I grew up in Oak Forest and my fiancé and I just bought our first home spitting distance from the park. This park extends all the way down TC Jester, it has Frisbee Golf galore, EZ7 Skatepark, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, picnic areas, a well lit freshly paved jogging trail, and a bike trail from Pinemont to Downtown Houston that is fit for my better half to train for the past 3 years worth of MS150s on. They recently added a brand new dog park that is so awesome, 31,000-square foot run for big dogs and a 16,000-square foot run for small dogs, for a total enclosure of 1.08 acres. We walk both our dogs down to the enclosed Play Land every day after work and they love the freedom to play with all their neighbor dogs. True, most of the visitors are Oak Foresters but it's great to be welcomed by such a friendly community where everyone says 'Hello' to each other with a smile. This place is definitely family friendly and large enough to spend the entire day here without seeing every mile of the park. Even better news, it is undergoing a huge renovation right now that will be completed by this July, "The project will include a pool renovation, new pool deck and spray ground, demolition of the diving board and wading pool, a new entry canopy, renovated restroom facilities, expanded parking, landscaping and irrigation, and construction of an amphitheater." Love this park! We love the to take walks and enjoy the weather. There always seems to be a breeze in the evenings. We enjoyed the pool a couple of times last summer. It is not a luxurious pool but it was fine and served its purpose. The lifeguards (the adults and the teens) could use a lesson on professionalism but I mean it is free. They are extending the bike trail all the way north to the Inwood Forest neighborhood. This will make for an extensive afternoon bike ride. I can't wait. Check out the bluebonnets in the Spring. Last year I took jogs among all the colorful wildflowers. It made working out bearable. read more
