TCL Tow Truck Company removed our vehicle at approximately 3:00 AM under questionable and potentially non-compliant circumstances. Our vehicle had been hit overnight while legally parked in front of our home, causing it to end up partially on a small portion of our neighbor's front yard. The vehicle was not blocking access, preventing anyone from entering or leaving, or creating any immediate safety hazard. We were actively working with our insurance company and arranging removal within a short timeframe. After police responded, we were informed that the property owner stated he would communicate with us regarding moving the vehicle. We made attempts to communicate and waited throughout the day expecting that discussion, yet no effort was made to contact us before the vehicle was suddenly towed in the middle of the night that night. The conduct of the tow operators was also highly unprofessional. We were denied the opportunity to speak with a supervisor, and the tow proceeded without transparency or reasonable communication. Additionally, one operator had a clearly visible handgun during the interaction, which created an intimidating and unnecessarily hostile environment while we were attempting to address the situation calmly. Based on this experience, I seriously question whether this tow was handled in accordance with Maryland and Prince George's County towing procedures and standards or did the owner simply use his power to unjustly remove our vehicle without notice. It's been about 2 weeks now and still no communication from neighbor/tow company owner. I would not recommend this company. read more

They're supposed to be 24 hours for impounded vehicles, but do not know how to answer the phone for information after calling several times. Whenever they do answer, employees don't have the answers for anything and when you ask for a manager, they don't know what time they'll be in saying "they come whenever they want" not being helpful. On January 5,2024 at around 2:45pm I mistakenly cash app $625 to this company when I was trying to pay for different company that was in position of my car. I immediately call the company and a lady pickup and confirm the transaction but then told me that only the manager can grand the refund. Again, she said the manager will be available in an hour, but still after waiting with several calls till around 5:45pm no body responded. The next day I drove to their office, met one guy and he told that there's nothing he can't do. Mean while I proved to him with the company's name and contact number. But still this same company decides to go with my hard earned money( $625). Predatory Towing Company. They illegally towed my car which was parked in MY space. The bylaws of Oasis Condominiums state that only the owner of the space can get a car towed. The paper work was on the window next to the Vin Number. They just ignored it. They need the Vin Number when they tow a car. They lied about when I could pick up my car. - Violates Subtitle-5-273-5. By law, it is 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They state that they are closed at 5 pm. In Maryland, you can get charged $175 for the first 18 hours and then $50 a day afterwards. I could have picked up the car the same night, but they are not there, so they can add an additional $50 charge. They tell you that you have to pay by cash. By law, you can use a credit card (Sub-26-142-14) When I went to pick my car, it was held by another company. They do this because everyone wants to beat the hell out of them. (Check the Yelp reviews on their Predatory towing) So you have this THIEF who just stole your car and they expect you to give them your credit card over the phone. If they steal your car, what do you think they will do with your credit card so you need to have cash to get your car. The owner is Laster Travis - he has 31 cases against him on Maryland Judiciary Case Results - he is the definition of a SCUMBAG. The Police Officer told me to go the Commissioner Office, 5000 Rhode Island Ave. Hyattsville, Maryland 20782 . Here you can go and have charges brought against them for theft. They stole my car on 11/1/22. I got my car on 11/2/22. I will definitely go and press charges against them next week. They need to prove that the car was illegally parked by photographs. They are also supposed to provide them to you when you pick your car up. I didn't want to be yet another person to complain about a towing service, which get all sorts of abuse from angry people, but I had to say something. I was towed from my own apartment parking spot because my permit wasn't clearly visible. It was on the dashboard but apparently had slid to the slide... Ok, that sucks but I'll chalk it up to bad luck. However, when making arrangements on the phone, it was not made clear that they only accept cash, so I had to run down my Uber driver and get him to take me to a bank. Luckily, he was much better as his job than the towing service, and did what he could to help me out. I didn't even bother trying to argue about the permit or the damage done to the vehicle bumper, as I know that towing services rarely accept fault out of court. There was just negligence at every step of the process, and that adds up to some very poor service. The location also has no markers whatsoever; you just have to walk up to a guy in a tow truck and hand him cash. Make sure you schedule an appointment on the phone. I drive a Mercedes C class. I waited over an hour for the tow to show up. The service provider never called me to tell me where he was. So communication was very poor. Upon arrival he was not equipped to tow my vehicle. He was trying to put the vehicle on the flatbed and the bottom of my car was dragging. He had some wooden blocks and they did not work. Under his breath he said "I told them these blocks don't work". He asked me to drive the car on the flatbed and I refused. I told him I don't get paid to do that and it is dangerous. Insurance contacted this company to pickup my car they showed up at the wrong entrance to a military base got mad because they were told by security they had to use another entrance for commercial vehicles. I also stated I requested a flatbed because vehicle will not run. They brought a regular tow truck and dollies to move vehicle which is in my garage. They said they would meet me at the other gate I went and waited for 45 mins tried to call the number went to VM finally called the tow company to be told they refused to tow because they don't push cars. Which is why I requested a flatbed with winches to help load the car. These 2 individuals were rude and acted like it was my fault. When papers clearly stated flatbed needed for tow. The owner of the company picked up the phone and was very rude and cussed me out and told me that he was doing me a favor and helping me out and that all state don't pay them anything so I should shut up and wait for my tow truck to come, I was stranded on the side of the road with my two year old son my seven year old son, and my 12 year old son for four hours. Rude, disrespectful, ignorant and arrogant are some of the words that can describe the tow driver who towed my car. Parked the car where I was not supposed to, and didn't look for any signs. No problem, it was my fault and I take ownership of my negligence. Went to take the car out of the lot they keep the vehicles and this is where everything went downhill.. First, they do not accept any payment types other than cash. So imagine you go in the middle of nowhere just to find out that you have to pay $175 in cash to take your car. Thankfully the taxi driver was still around so he took me to the nearest ATM. Got the car released and because it is lowered, I always check for any damage before I take off (see pictures) Second, just because you towed somebody's car it does not mean that you should not be mindful of their property! The surface of the lot is not even and there is a big dip. Apparently, my car was lifted way too high which caused the damages on the rear bumper and exhaust pipes. The paint on the bumper was damaged. I found a handful of dust, rocks and dirt in both of my exhaust pipes. Everything was documented immediately and addressed to the driver who towed the vehicle. He did not want to take any responsibility for his actions, as you can guess. Boomer! His response was "This is nothing..." and "I do this for 30 years".. and then "Take us to court.." What you are going to see on the pictures is not nothing. At least not to me, since this is my vehicle and I paid for it. Perhaps, he needs to get some extra schooling because it seems like the past 30 years of experience were not enough to teach him how to do his job. Areas to focus on: Communication skills, Work ethic, Etiquette, Being a man (oh that they don't teach in school).. etc. He pulled up his phone and started showing me the pictures he took prior taking my car. What a nonsense! One can clearly see that my vehicle was not damaged and then you have the car one hour later in a completely different condition. Contradiction. His critical thinking needs improvement as well!!! Then he kept repeating the exact same thing over and over again which did not make any sense. Just be a man and admit you messed up, dude.. Fast forward, before I left, I took a picture of his license plate. Went right in front of the truck to take a good angle.. This man started acting childish by revving up his engine while I was in front in order to scary me. Well, that did not work so then he got on his horn. What a jackass. Unfortunately, that did not work either. Dude, you gotta be better than that!! If my fiance was not with me, I would have been right in his face...talking.. I understand tow truck drivers get a lot of shit by upset people, but being ignorant and stupid does not help either. You guys need to learn some skills and know how to avoid conflicts, and more importantly take responsibility for your actions. No one is perfect, but you have to stand up and own it. My car was towed by this "business" last night from visitors parking in Top of the Hill Apartment complex. Mind you this was in a lot of other vehicles surrounding mine. My friend called the company around 7 am to inquire about my car and was put on hold for about 10 mins and then eventually told that he would receive a call back. After about 20 mins of waiting, as my friend was already late for work, he called back this time to be told that that they were trying to contact the tow truck driver and would call back once he did so. My friend and I waited until about 7:45 I called back this time confirming that the car was actually there because at this point that was never confirmed. Lo and behold he confirmed that my car was in fact there and towed mistakenly and that I could come pick up my car free of charge (as if this was a favor to me). Pissed is a gross understatement. Again as previous stated this was a marked visitor's space in a lot that has space for about 12 cars. How the hell do you randomly pick one car and tow it? It wasn't like it was parked at an end sticking out or something. That, again, pissed me off and seemed deliberate. I frequent that apartment complex damn near every other day and have done so since September 2021 and have never had an issue. Fast forward a bit. I let my friend know what was told to me and we made our way to the tow yard. We get there at around 8:10 and ring the doorbell. No answer of course. I call back only to be told that they did not open until 9 am. Not only did you at this point steal my car in a sense but now you have inconvenienced my friend and I for your incompetence. My friend was so kind to have waited until I was able to actually retrieve my car. Now I walk back to the gated entrance where the car was actually parked and the guy, who I assume was the same guy my friend and I had spoke to all morning, was so damn rude and ignorant after I asked if there was damage done to my car what would be the next steps. This is where everything took a turn. He immediately got defensive and told me "you just assume there's damage, you can check the car and go". So in response I told him you tow my car "mistakenly" and now acting like you're doing me a favor. He said "all I can do is apologize". Complete bullshit.
