I've gotta say. This is the best place in Omaha to start your trading! Open an account online and start trading at your own pace. No pressure or salesman wanting to sell annuities. Unless you're into that sort of thing, they have access to pretty much everything under the sun. Free online and mobile trading makes it easy for you to copy the holdings of your favorite mutual fund or index so why pay the fee if you have the time. Education is their specialty so take advantage of learning their platform thinkorswim or take a course at your own pace on the grid site. If you think they need to improve they have a suggestion box in the upper right corner after you log in. See what's to come in the always evolving financial industry! Be advised that because of my last Yelp review of TD Ameritrade, my TDA business portfolio has only been allowed to periodically gain only a penny from a so-called "money market fund" my account supposedly is invested in according to TDA's Regulatory Compliance Analyst Michael Bach, who in an official response letter to my complaint to the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) gave his pathetic reasons as to why my business portfolio is earning hardly any money at all. From the many negative Yelp reviews I have seen so far and my overall experience as an account holder, it is my conclusion that TD Ameritrade is a worthless, corrupt financial institution that should not be dealt with at all, both offline and online. It is a company that basically rules by secrecy when handling your money and if you make any complaints about the way your money is being handled by them, then you may lose your money as one Yelp reviewer revealed with the loss of $1,500.00. Therefore, if you have not found a way to protect your financial investments, then it is best to avoid investment brokers like TD Ameritrade until you do so that you will avoid being victimized by the "Great Reset". read more

I signed up for a papermoney account to play with before deciding to trade with TD. I'm so happy I did because I signed up a week ago and haven't been able to login. After many attempts to resolve the issue with tech support, nothing has changed. They literally just hang up on me while on hold after about 45 min or so. (Happened 3 Times.) I've even sent emails to customer service asking if I could speak to anyone about this situation and no one has even bothered to respond to the emails. I cannot believe this place conducts business of any kind. Absolutely unreal. Without question this has been the worst experience I've ever had with any business of any kind in my entire life. I buy and sell often and I noticed that they sold my stock at times for about 50 cents a share less than what it should have sold. I was watching the real time price as I was selling. I have been closing the accounts that I manage. I am going to video my next sales of stock so that have proof. TD Ameritrade prides themselves as having a accurate up to the second real-time price so, there is NO reason to lose 50 cents per share. When I called and spoke with there customer service, you could tell he has gotten the same call many times before. I highly recommend you try another broker. I am opening accounts in Charles Schwab today but I don't know if they are doing the same thing. Time will tell. read more

We attended the first MLB baseball game (Detroit Tigers vs KC Royals) last night and the service was absolutely terrible!! The facility should have known by the number of tickets sold how busy it was going to be!! We had to stand in line for at least 45 minutes each time we got something at the concession stand. One time we waited 50 minutes for 4 beers and 4 hotdogs. Once we ordered the hotdogs we had to wait some more because they weren't done. Then we went to add condiments and they were completely out! When we got back to our seats and opened our hotdogs, two of them were cold and not done!! This is absolutely uncalled for and definitely a health violation...serving uncooked food!! We attend the college World Series every year and have never had this problem! Totally disgusted....figure it out!! read more

Ameritrade has held my family's estate money hostage for over a month, I am in escrow and they have lied to my brother (a class action attorney) our trust attorney, trustees of the estate and to me personally about missing paperwork and fictional timelines. We were going to deposit more money with them (more millions) which I am now encouraging the trustees to avoid doing. This is unconscionable and just gross. The trading platform is not wonderful and they hold my money there as well. AVOID I'm pulling every nickel as soon as it's convenient for me to do so. read more

I have $10,000 that has been just sitting in my account at Ameritrade (AMTD) for the past 2 years, that earns no interest at all. If AMTD drops their "Trade Architect" platform, I will withdraw my cash. I enjoy watching CNBC (although I do not trust CNBC's views) while using Trade Architect at my office and figure that has value, so its a trade off. When AMTD removes the Trade Architect platform...I will remove my cash from Ameritrade. read more

TD Ameritrade is a good online stock broker for the average investor. I have a number I can call to get right through to a client rep so that is great but sometimes the website has glitches which are really annoying. Recently Ameritrade announced they will be discontinuing their Streamer platform and switching to Trade Architect. I tried the Trade Architect product and it is horrible. I'm hoping Ameritrade either let's us use the streamer again or makes Trade Architect a lot better! If they do this, I will come back and give them a better rating. read more

I finally moved brokerages and now that it's time to do taxes you find out just how childish TDAmeritrade really is. They completely disable your account so that you can't even access your 1099-T and to-date I have never received my 1099-T in the mail. When you try to contact someone, they only offer Facebook Messenger chat (really?) and the minute I mentioned that I had transferred brokerage firms the guy completely stopped answering. Ameritrade has recently started holding onto cash wire and ACH deposits for several days before "allowing" the client to use their OWN MONEY or transfer stock. This has never happened before. ANd three people have experienced (the three we know that use that brokerage) are having the same problems. What used to be within 24 hours is taking 3 to 5 days. And when confronted, they claim, "It's always been that way." THat's not true. IS Ameritrade on shaky ground, that they need to hang onto to money? read more

I've had an account with TD Ameritrade for over 4 years. I started with a great service. However, I wasn't able to have access to my account for a couple of years. I recently was able to log into my account and discovered that $1,692.98 was missing. I contacted customer service and they told me to check my transactions. I did that and saw that from the middle of October to the first week of November of 2018 fraudulent charges were made against my account. I checked my account inbox and received a message from customer service in May 2019 telling me that there was suspected fraud with my debit card and issued me a new card. I contacted customer service and told them of the fraudulent charges against my account. After a week I wrote a BBB complaint. TD Ameritrade then opened an investigation. Less than a week later they told me that there was no error or fraud and the charges were made by me and they would not refund my money. How can they not refund my money even though they were the ones that pointed out the fraud in the first place? Why did it take 6 months to tell me that my debit card had been compromised? My advice: DO NOT do business with TD Ameritrade. It literally cost me thousands. read more

agreed with earlier reviews, once you move your account you are "locked out" and have no access to monitor the move, get archived statements, or even see your balances. Even after an acccount is over, all the historical information is essential to have access to. This is a terrible policy at TD. No one else does it - not Wells Fargo, not Fidelity, not Scottrade, not Chase - no one. Its horrible. DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT AT TD. I had a small account with a Portland brokerage house. They retired and sold to Ameritrade. Since I was moving to Omaha it seemed okay. After 10 years of pain (I'm a small investor, remember) I just couldn't take it anymore so switched my account. The minute they got the order from the other company they shut me out, thus preventing me from saving any of my trading history. When I called to ask why the phone rep was absolutely awful. Terrible customer service. Add to that the fact that I get no information on any annual meetings, I'm done. As another reviewer said, "run, don't walk, away!" read more

TD Ameritrade froze my funds on an incoming ACH cash transfer from my credit union to TD Ameritrade for 3 business days. It does NOT take 3 business days for an automated ACH transfer to "clear". In fact, other ACH transfers involving other institutions have always cleared THE SAME DAY. Later, when my account was finally "unfrozen" by TD Ameritrade, I wanted to transfer some cash from TD Ameritrade back to my credit union. TD Ameritrade deducted the cash from my account (which cash had already met the unreasonable "hold" requirement), but then delayed transfering those funds to my credit union. In other words, TD Ameritrade took the money from my account, but then then held up the outgoing transfer. It's worth repeating: after TD Ameritrade had already deducted the cash funds from my account (over which they had 100% control), they then further delayed transferring it to my credit union. Why do they treat customers this way? Conclusion: TD Ameritrade applies unreasonably long holding periods and makes it incredibly difficult for customers to withdraw their cash funds from a TD Ameritrade account. You might want to consider doing business with someone else. read more

FINALLY DUMPED THEM....AFTER DECADES.... Their screw ups never ended. If I didn't mention the RYPQX fiasco, where they recommended this fund as a safe money market related fund, where my $ was frozen from about 2008 until sometime like 2015 and the so called NAV of $1 crashed, and then things were readjusted where I lost about 23%....well that was just one of many issues with TDA. I was even contacted by the Attorney General's Office of MA to discuss this issue as they obtained my name threw their own sources as they were looking into TDA regarding this matter... Anyway, I had about 6 accounts with TDA, keeping various funds separate, including retirement. I was advised to make things easier and just have a few accounts, as not only did I have TDA for "investments" but other major mutual fund brokers/businesses. So in a conversation with a local rep within TDA, I indicated that I would transfer all other $ from other businesses to TDA, and have only 3 accounts in total with TDA and they would hold everything - a taxable account, an IRA and a Roth. Because I opened new accounts in TDA to which I would be moving things too, and opened them with transferred accounts, I got a silly amount of free trades (500 per account - but only good for like stocks and not mutual funds). There would be incentives too. Anyway, I wanted to sell a few items (like 50 positions) in existing accounts that didn't have any free trades. I called and the rep indicated he will give me like 10 free trades in one of the old accounts that had no free trades associated with it. Well, the free trades went to the wrong account - so the new account had 510 free trades....useless. I sent numerous emails to TDA telling them of the problem, but they said they don't give free trades and they could move some of the free trades from one account to another account. They never corrected the problem and therefore I didn't get the free trades in the account where it was needed. We are not talking about a lot of money IF I used those trades, as it was mostly mutual funds trading I needed to do and these would not be free. They are penny wise and pound foolish as they say. 35 years of investing and saving were going to be in their possession - all my accounts from elsewhere, etc. They pissed me off for the last time - can only deal with so much stupidity. I stopped the transfers to TDA and went to Vanguard, making Vanguard the guardian of all that I have. If you love frustration and ignorance, TDA is for you. All I have to say is that Im damn glad that I had gotten most of my $ out of the RYPQX fund before those funds were frozen for years and the price was readjusted, as if I didn't I would have lost FAR more than I already did..... read more

I thought Scottrade was alright . But when they switched over to Ameritrade it made me realize how Fabulous Etrade is! I want to transfer my portfolio to ETrade but it's scary to speculate just what a nightmare that might be. Ameritrade takes much longer to sign into since they have a security question and ETrade does not. Ameritrade shows 3-Three! numbers that tell , or attempt to tell you, your take or loss for the day. But the worst part? The " trading platform" is a poor joke. It is very tiny and faded out at the bottom of the page while ETrade's trading platform is a Breeze. It's very CLEAR and fast. Whomever dreamed up this inferior system should be reprimanded. Say you want to transfer funds. Good luck with that. Either into your account OR to send cash balances to your bank. You have to first tell them " the two deposits made into your bank by us." I can't do that; by the time I get my bank statement it's too late to post the two numbers on the page. Another snafu . So at the end of each day I look to see how much I made or lost. There are three numbers that claim to tell you and they're all different. Just try ETrade, please? With two clicks you can transfer funds from your bank into ETrade and it shows up, CLEARLY IN BOLD LETTERS instantly. read more

I am shocked and disappointed that #TDAmeritrade does not have 2-step login security for their website. In this day and age with all the Russian hacking going on, I refuse to invest my hard earned money in a company that does not take security seriously. I spoke with one of their customer service representatives and she tried to convince me that it was okay that the website supports encryption and that the funds I invest would be insured. But I know that I would not be happy if my account got hacked. I will review investing my funds with TD Ameritrade again after they upgrade their security. read more

I have brokerage account and TD Ameritrade VISA card. Both are incompetent, inept and unreliable. Took many hours on my part to have them restore $600 asset that disappeared from my brokerage account. Got VISA card for convenience of transferring rewards to my brokerage account. Did first transfer 4 days ago and it's still not in my brokerage account. With Fidelity it takes 1-2 days. TD rewards 1.5% rebate; Fidelity 2%. read more

There are many discount brokerage firms to chose from and TD Ameritrade is definately NOT the one pick. Their tools are difficult to read and combersome to use. You can get better pricing and better service from several other vendors. read more
