Had a great first experience here attending a concert featuring a few 80's British artists. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is nice, well organized and easy to get in and out of.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We found parking a couple of blocks away for free. Security was easy to get through. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have lawn seating or actual seats.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lots of beverage stations, also some food trucks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had great seats right in front of the stage, but honestly there's not a bad seat here as it's not a huge venue.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ticket prices are kinda steep as are the alcohol beverages served up in a plastic cup. I guess that's the norm these days though. I paid $100 for 2 beers and 2 mixed drinks. Open since 2023. As you read older reviews you can tell that many things have changed. You CANNOT bring your own chairs for the lawn, you must rent on-site. There are many more alcohol options. I'm not a beer drinker but I saw the prices: the least expensive domestic was $16.50 24 oz. They go up from there for imports and craft beers. They have food tucks as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have easily accessible bathrooms but they are SMALL.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ladies line was SO Long but the men's seemed to be much shorter and was moving quickly. The men's was very SMALL.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Susan and I were there to see String Cheese Incident. It was not sold out but well attended. LADIES must have your purse checked for size. no larger than 6" X 9" otherwise you CANNOT enter. The other option is bring a plastic see through at 12" X 12". You go through security gates then another line to get your wrist band. We had reserved seating row O section 221 and tix were a little over $100 bucks with fees/taxes. I bought two tickets for a Primus Concert VIP. As always with concert tickets, I purchased insurance for each ticket which would reimburse if something happened and I could not attend. My mother passed away a month before the concert, she died in her sleep unexpectable, so my life was turned upside down. She lived in another state so I had to relocate for a while to clean up the aftermath and I couldn't attend. The insurance that I purchased was worthless. It would not reimburse. So I reached out, keep in mind weeks before the concert, and The AMP management would not reimburse, nor would they let me resell or give the tickets away. I will never attend another event, nor will I ever recommend the AMP for an event to friends or family. What a cold-hearted group of people. $600 down the drain!! Beware of the insurance. I visited The Amp for an R&B fundraising event. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The venue is quite comfortable (bring your chair and sit on the lawn). From my seat, I could see the stage and hear without interruption.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There were venue seats, but they looked cramped, and more than half were empty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Closer to the stage, on the right, there were 4-person tables set up. [[HIGHLIGHT]]All of the seating is in the hot sun, so come prepared. I brought a hat with a wide brim, which kept me sane mentally, but I still felt a lot of sweat running down my face and back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is to be expected at an outdoor festival in the blazing sun. With proceeds donated from each ticket sold, the $10 + tax for a bottle of water in 80+ degree heat was too much. With alcohol on sale, patrons should have had access to water at a more reasonable price, e.g., $2. I won't attend their next event. However, I look forward to attending another music event at The Amp, as other reviews report many more food trucks and vendors. I purchased food from the first truck I visited. I ordered a steak flatbread, and it was delicious. The price ($20) was on point. Sadly, the few food trucks on site couldn't sell any liquids or water. I had to endure my 3-hour stay with one bottle of water. There were only a few vendors, so it wasn't much of a shopping trip for me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The women's restroom was clean, and an attendant was on duty, a plus on a hot day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking wasn't much of a problem. The area is excellent for entertainment, with a plethora of restaurants and bars. This made for congested parking at the venue. Horrific customer service at check in! Made us walk back back to my car because my wife's purse was too big. You need to give your employees training on how to do their job. Went to yacht rock last night and it was chaos on entering. Kept being shuffled to different lines and then was screamed at by an employee for "cutting" when we were shuffled to the line. She was extremely rude and not helpful. Saw String Cheese Incident with The Wood Brothers in mid-May. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The venue was very convenient, and we had a great time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There were limited options for beverages (like only 4 beers and two were IPAs) a seltzer, a hard tea, and some canned wines. There were mixed drinks, but again limited at most of the beverage stands. Prices were so high that I would expect more than a couple of options. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bathrooms for non-VIP ticket holders were port-a-johns, but I walked right into the VIP bathroom because no one was checking wristbands or anything. It is also not labeled as VIP, it just said restrooms.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My big problem though, and one I hope they fix, is that while we were all dancing and having a blast the lights came on at 9:00. They stayed on for the rest of the show. There were several food trucks set up inside to enjoy before the show. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The sun sets behind the stage and since it was a little cloudy, the sky was absolutely beautiful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had lawn seats and there is a great view of the stage from any angle.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a few kinks to iron out as to be expected. They ran out of alcohol and bottled waters pretty early on. I would assume events have to be planned and scheduled. No actual seating provided. This is definitely a BYOS (bring your own seating) type of outdoor venue spacing. All things were good until not being allowed to use "indoor VIP bathroom" at a 50* rainy event!!! The bathroom was empty but was still not allowed to use the bathroom after spending $100 plus at this venue! This place needs to reevaluate their policies. I certainly won't be spending any money at this place when not provided with a proper public bathroom for a paying client!!! It's fine to keep serving drinks at ridiculous prices yet not providing proper facilities. Ballantyne needs to do better! read more
