I closed my checking and savings accounts sometime ago and opted for PNC where I always get answers to my questions and am remembered in the two branches I frequent. Today, I ended the affair with TD by closing out my safe deposit box. First, I waited close to 30 minutes to be seen by someone. Then it took another 45 minutes. There was a minor dispute over a second key and I was charged $25 for turning in only one key. When asked if I would be reimbursed if I turned in the second key they allegedly gave me when I opened the box, the girl waiting on me who was probably not old enough to drink, replied she didn't know and it would be up to management and I'd have to deal with it IF I ever returned the second key. Prior to closing my accounts, I waited upward of 10 days for payroll checks to clear into my account. Service was always snotty at best. That place blows. Way to go with killing the Commerce reputation and fond memories I have of quick service and friendly staff.

Their on-line service malfunctioned. If you tried to call for service you either sat on hold for over twenty minutes or requested a call back that did not happen. I also went to the local branch to get a resolution but the desk jockey insinuated there was no on-line issues, but he could not reach their service center either due to an admitted twenty minute hold time.
