i called happy bank customer care call center on march 27, 2026, to find out what i needed to take…read moreto their addison tx branch in order to open an acct. their rep said, "$100 & your driver's license." i giggled b/c that seemed too easy & it was! i found out the hard way that nothing with happy bank was going to be easy! on march 30, 2026, i went to addison branch and walked in with my driver's license & $100. i wasn't greeted by the two young women seated at a large desk just inside their front door. i waited for a while. then, i saw two more employees seated at another very large desk. i walked over & asked if i could open a new acct. both told me, "that's not our dept." so, i was ignored by the first two and refused assistance by the next two. i asked who could open an acct for me. they said, "vicki." since it was my very first time in their bank, i had no idea who vicki was. they just pointed back to the front lobby. i walked over & asked for vicki who told me that she was busy!!! do you see a pattern developing here? i had been there less that 10 minutes and the games had begun. nobody at this branch is interested in customers or opening a new acct or anything else associated w/ banking! vicki's associate said that she would try to open the acct. so, i handed her my d.l. & $100. then, an older woman walked over dragging office furniture. i thought that she was the cleaning lady b/c she didn't smile at me or introduce herself. she demanded, "i need more indentification. do you have insurance? so, i placed that on the desk as well. she became upset & belligerent & told me, "this insurance is fixin to expire." i looked at the service dates on the top right-hand corner of the insurance document which read 'expiration date april 4, 2026.' i explained to her, "today's date is march 30th. this doesn't expire until april 4th." the old woman began arguing over the dates!?!?! then, she demanded my medical insurance. at that point, i simply asked her for the branch manager. she just stood there. at least she had stopped arguing. she didn't say anything or make a move! i asked her a 2nd time for her manager. still...no response!! finally, on my 3rd request for her supervisor...she ran off behind a corner. i wasn't sure what she was doing. then, a very friendly man appeared from around that same corner w/ his hand outstretched & a smile on his face!!! plus, he told me his name!!!!!!! the old woman hadn't done any of those things! we went into his office & i told him exactly what had happened. he apologized. but, then...the old woman began peeping thru the window of the branch manager's office glaring at me!!!! i asked the manager, "can you see her staring at me?" he said, "let's go downstairs for coffee." we went downstairs & 5 minutes later the old woman was following us!!!!!! she came over to where we were seated & demanded that we go back upstairs!?!?! she may need her meds adjusted. the kicker is that it took happy bank four solid hours to open a new acct for me. 4 hrs! they claimed it was their computer system. but, i have found out...their computers crash frequently! it seems to be a daily occurrence. i have attempted to provide customer feedback in good faith...but, nobody was interested. it was very alarming to me that all of my id was dismissed as invalid by the old woman, that she stared at me thru the manager's office window and "stalked" me all over the bldg!!! the sign out front says happy bank. i think that is false advertising! unhinged bank would be more appropriate! i called back on april 6, 2026, to speak w/ the bank president of the addison branch & vicki answered the phone...the same vicki who told me that she was too busy to open an acct. but, now...she is calling herself victoria! i asked vicki/victoria for the bank president. she said that she would have to look it up b/c she didn't know that info. unbelievable! vicki said that chris/svp would call me back. so, i gave her my phone number. let's see if their svp will return my call. the over-arching theme is...the lights are on but, nobody is home! i wasn't greeted, acknowledged or offered anything that resembled customer service! their computers routinely crash! other customer reviews reference their ongoing computer problems! my valid id was refused! one quick phone call would have confirmed that it was current! no verification was done. i was offered hostility & rudeness instead of common courtesy! they made excuses and refused to listen. they accuse their customers of being the problem! the old woman peeked in windows like a child & followed me all over the bldg even tho the branch manager escorted me to their coffee shop. if you enjoy unhinged drama, happy bank is the bank for you! p.s. the latest development...they said that my account is being closed. that's called retaliation imho. i noticed all of their systemic failures & now i am being punished. not happy!

The wife has been looking for a business bank account and found out that our normal bank is no…read morelonger offering business accounts and started charging her a fee. Boooo. So off she went to find another bank that didn't charge fees. Somewhat across the street, she found Comerica Bank which offers free business bank accounts. So she signs up for one. Bada-bing bada-boom. She's got a bank account. No fees and no problems. The one negative about Comerica is that their ATM still uses the old envelope and deposit slip style of depositing. It's really quite annoying. Our personal bank has a check reader and a cash counter, so, even though you have to put in each check separately, you just put in the amount, put in the check and then do the next one. It's a little more time consuming, but you don't have to have deposit slips with you. Just sign the check and deposit. Or, do you have a huge wad of bills to deposit? Just take them, up to 30, and put them in the ATM and it will count it for you. Just to emphasize, this bank does not have this feature. Otherwise, Lupe is an awesome employee, she took care of me when I had questions and has gone out of her way to take care of us. Not sure what Comerica stands for, but if anything, it stands for customer service.

Just when I was ready to close my accounts at this bank, they have redeemed themselves. Friday…read moremorning, I made at atm cash deposit for $560. $200 posted immediately. I didn't understand why there was a hold on my money when the deposit was cash. I called customer service and the rep told me that the remaining funds will post overnight. On today, I wake to find that my deposit had not posted. I went to this branch to gain understanding on their cash deposit. The guy told me that the rest of my deposit would not be available until Tuesday morning. SERIOUSLY?! He says the corporate office handles the arm deposits and their machine doesn't have a smart reader (which is why they use envelopes). I was very disappointed in his response and their policy. I had a transaction to post which made my account overdrawn (due to my funds not being available) and I was told that I would incur an OD fee. I went about my day and 30 minutes later, the bank called me and shared with me that after looking into things further, they released my deposit and made all my funds available. I was very happy to hear this and it made my day better. I still don't understand why my cash was held however I will know next time to use the night deposit or go inside the branch.
