But since the menu is always a bit changing and depending on the catch, this time this option wasn't available. But there were some of them in the mixed seafood bowl. Also some herring, salmon, seafood dip and salad was in the delicous bowl. The fried fish wrap was excellent as well. Fresh cod, nicely fried. Crispy outside and nice, fresh and tender inside. Good stuff. And now for the highlight: The Oysters. We've had oysters in the Normandy (France), Spain, Italy, Portugal, South Korea, Japan, Australia, the US and in many other places. In several spots in England and Scotland as well. And these here were so far the best we've ever had! Fresh flavours of the sea, nicely sized, very sweet, smooth and creamy. Excellent oysters - almost drove three hours back the next day just to get some more. -But an altogether six-hour drive was a bit too much in the end. Hopefully next time around the oysters will be as great as this time. This time the weather was pretty cold and it was a bit rainy at times. So it was easy to get a table - even got one under the tent. Last time it was warm and sunny, but hard to get a seat and there was a long line. This time it was all easy, an advantage of this kind of weather which we didn't mind at all. A really really great place to grab some fantastic seafood items. We definitely will be back.

We poured over the menu and the large list of specials up on the wall. Chuck decided his first meal would have to be fish, while I chose a roasted lamb shank. We were not disappointed. When the food came out, the portions were very large but it is high quality. The piece of fish was almost larger than the plate. My lamb was cooked to well that it just fell off the bone with the slightest touch and melted in my mouth. It was the perfect way to start our adventure in the highlands. The ingredients were very fresh and locally sourced. We returned for dinner again for our last night. They were slam packed and we were unable to put our names in for a table. Instead, we went to sit in the bar section, which is first come first serve. Thankfully, we were able to get two seats at the bar and sat for a few rounds before ordering some food. We saw the burgers on our first trip and had to order them for our last meal. These were also very large. It is served with a tomato chutney which was very tasty. Later, while on my ferry journey to Stornoway, I decided to look up the Tesco company and learned it was founded in 1919 and had operations outside of Scotland in a handful of countries including Hungary and Ireland. The inside of the store was straightforward to navigate and I got a few produce items, canned goods, and a small container of eggs. The prices were good and check out was simple with friendly workers. Products I bought were in good condition and served as snack and meal items both on the ferry ride to Stornoway and while in the Outer Isles until I replenished my supplies. Produce items and eggs were fresh and flavorful and the canned items and eggs easy to cook with.

It's just a walk in for coffee and languistines as yoy get on the ferry, or as you pass through Ullapool down towards the ocean front shops. The coffee is self-service, but the person at the counter will get you set up with snacks as they chat with you about the state of worldly affairs. Kind-of a must do as you pass through. The service is a bit spotty if you are seated at one of the tables but is friendly and prompt at the bar. If you're looking for a drink or a meal, this is a good choice.
