Wonderful tea house. Tea and food absolutely delicious. We ordered several plates. The sausage and crumpets really stood out. SO GOOD. We had elderberry tea and Chai as well, best I've had. Ambience also beautiful. There are games to play, newspapers and magazines to read. So happy to trust my gut and come regardless of online stars. Bonus: they have several large tables to accommodate our group of five. Another local tea house with high stars (has a name of a flower in it) seated us separately yesterday , and wouldn't allow us to add an extra chair to a table for 4. The flavor of the tea here far exceeds the others too!

The Tea House Theatre has outstanding food including excellent breakfast available until 6pm, tasty dinners, and scrupsious cakes and pastries at any time of day. The proprietor and staff are all friendly, efficient, and charming. In additional to educating you on the dozens of types of quality teas on offer, when not too busy they may be lured into discussion of neuroscience research, the London theatre scene, international politics, et cetera. Additionally there are all sorts of entertainments from jazz nights to political debates ("should AI replace magistrates?"). The Tea House Theatre was a highlight of our trip. It and the Victoria & Albert Museum are the principal draws for a return to London.

Excellent and cozy tea shop! I'm really happy I found it during my trip to London. The tea was pleasant and the food was great as well. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone passing through central London. Cheers!

I would definitely return here and would recommend it to others. I was looking for a cafe where I could have an afternoon or cream tea, but also set up my laptop and work for a bit. Tea House Theatre is the only place I've found that is a genuine tea shop and allows/encourages those working remotely. I had a good cream tea experience. The scones were delicious, but unfortunately they were out of clotted cream (such an important aspect!) They offered butter and cream as alternatives, but it is just not the same. The jam was good. I was hoping they'd take some money off the bill due to the lack of clotted cream, but I paid full price. I didn't mind too much though as I did hang out for over 2 hours. The tea pot came with a cute knit cover that kept my tea warm the entire time. The staff was a bit challenging to get ahold of to order and pay, but all in all a good experience and I would love to try their clotted cream next time!

We have been for breakfast many times. And once for dinner. Always good food. Always good service. We like eggs Benedict with bacon or spinach. Lovely place and atmosphere.

I absolutely love this place. It's one of my favourite places to visit. The service is sweet and quick. Perfect for a good long chat without being bothered. Cozy in the rain. And CHEAP. The cakes were so delicious. I dreamt about them days later.

Having walked past this intriguing little place on several occasions on the way to and from the art galleries popping up around Vauxhall I was glad to finally have time to stop for tea and cake. Less quaint and quiet than usual due to Black Pride turning the area into a party zone we were still happy for a table in the sunshine. My friend and I shared a large pot of darjeeling - proper leaf tea served with a strainer and a cuddly pot in a handmade tea cosy. The salted caramel cake provided a sugar rush lasting for the rest of the day, providing me with enough energy for the cycle ride back to Notting Hill, my friend's gluten free brownie was a similarly indulgent guilty pleasure. Staff were very accommodating and friendly and even let us stay until the last minute, leaving our table till last when closing down for the night. Can't wait for another excuse to return, perhaps even taking in one of their performances.

LOVED this place. We stumbled across it and ended up going 2 days in a row! I will definitely visit when I come back. We played board games, the owner and staff were very friendly and accommodating, and you can't tell me the little knit sweaters on the tea pots aren't cute as heck! Food was great and I would highly recommend snacking on the English Tea...crumpets and add on the house tea. I also mixed the elderberry tea with lavender tea since I had the sniffles and it was calming and felt wonderful on my throat and stomach. Such a lovely experience and wonderful ambiance to be in to get away from a crazy world outside. Loved it.

Wow! What more can I say. Talk about a hidden gem nestling in the heart of Vauxhall. An old pub that has been converted into a Tea House selling (how surprising) tea and cake. The cakes are very temptingly arranged on the tables to give you a good sight of what's on offer and I defy you to resist. The problem is not giving in to gluttony. In addition, a proscenium arch in the middle of the space announces the second part of is unique proposition. The venue doubles up as a theatre space and advertises a comedy night on Wednesday evenings. Something to try, I feel

Such a calm cafe minutes from Vauxhall station. Breakfast served all day - the Scottish breakfast is as big as Scotland itself. While they don't serve coffee (clues in the title of the place) they have an enormous selection of tea some of the more unusual being quite pricey and huge cakes dotted around the place on each table. They really stick by their word to not hurry people along; you could sit there all day. Lovely staff and a resident cat. Great place to sit and catch up or get on with work with their wifi.

One of my favorite places to eat in London! Afternoon tea was brilliant, if shared with a friend you can leave with a full belly and only $12 spent (what a deal in central London)! Outdoor seating is beautiful with a view of Vauxhall's local park or sit inside and cuddle up with the Tea House's friendly cats! This hidden gem has unique events such as shows, jazz nights, and other artsy activities taking us back in time to traditional London! Just a few minute walk from the tube, perfect in the rain and sunshine!

My husband and I had the privilege of booking afternoon tea during our recent visit to London. The total cost was approximately $175 USD and served one pot of tea with the flavor of your choice along with delicate sized sandwiches and several desserts on a tiered platter. Alejandro, our server, was not only hospitable but knowledgeable with the tea offerings. Service was also efficient and the presentation was refined. That, along with the stunning view, made our experience memorable. The only part that STAINED my delight was being seated next to 3 overly pretentious young women who, while dressed well & presented the proper image, did not possess the etiquette they "TRIED" to present. It was more obnoxious than sophisticated. To give you a better visual - think 'ladies who lunch' but with the tone that matched women who discussed men like they were at a bar rather than an upscale tea room. I found their conversation inappropriate, immature and rude. They spoke loudly enough for perhaps a third of the room to hear. Other than that, I would recommend The Library for all that it offers - just cross your fingers you aren't seated too closely to a trio of young 20-somethings who think they have the male population all figured out like they've watched and taken notes of every episode of 'Sex and the City'.

Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! Served quite warm as well. Pretty alright tea finger sandwiches overall; the cucumber sandwich had a nice lemon zing to it though the smoked salmon sandwich and egg sandwich had bread that was a bit on the stale side. Regarding desserts, the raspberry macaron was very tasty and had a great slight chew to it but the red velvet cake was pretty dry. There were more food items at the tea service but I'm just highlighting the most noteworthy ones. :p For tea I had the jasmine lychee. Satisfyingly bold lychee taste! HIGH TEA / AFTERNOON TEA SET We chose the high tea and afternoon set which was ayce basically with unlimited refills of the pastries. This was around £95 per person which was a bit pricey, but the experience felt very high end indeed. The pastries were varying in regards to quality consistency and also depends on your preferences. Each pastry or bite has a savory or sweet taste and is paired uniquely. Each set also came with your choice of a tea pot and sparkling tea which was delicious. The honey tea non caffeinated was decent! HIGH TEA The sweet pastries were my favorite from a crunchy but creamy blueberry tart to a decadent chocolate mousse. I wasn't a fan of the rose cake, but the yogurty apple one and sweet bread were decent to my liking (definitely depends on your preferences). I did really enjoy trying new things though and being able to get more of whatever I liked! I also really like the side of marmalades and buttery cream with the scones. Both the regular and fruity scone were delicious. The sweet set also came with an entree and the beef Wellington was coooked to perfection although a very small bite. SAVORY TEA I was not a fan of duck liver mousse at all, but really liked the crab cake and savory scones that came with a type of cream cheese spread and red onion marmalade. A different take from the sweet set. Their scones are perfectly crispy on the outside but nice and moist on the inside. This set also came with finger sandwiches which were delicious: a variety of salmon and cream cheese, cucumber, hummus, and ham and cheese. It is a great experience for first timers when you are in London and definitely a good place to pick up teas and goodies to bring back home.

All she wanted for her birthday was a nice afternoon tea. We left London and were basically driving sort of toward the coast just stopping wherever we found a tea shop. We got to Glynde, parked outside this tea shop, went in, and found a large sign that said "cash only". OMG this wasn't our day. We had to go to the next town over to use the ATM which sucked, but we weren't in any hurry and we really liked the look and feel here. We came back, got seated, opened the menu, and right at the top it said afternoon tea available with reservation only. We were devastated. I saw the look in my wife's eye and there was no way I was not getting her this afternoon tea! I approached the woman working and explained our situation and before I could even fight for the experience she told me not to worry, she would get us taken care of. BLESS HER! We had a wonderful visit and would recommend the experience to everyone in the area. Fast forward to this year. I knew how much my wife loved that visit and decided to reach out and ask if they had any ideas of what I could get her for her birthday this year. Joanne reached back out with an amazing gift and shipped it to us and it amazingly arrived on her birthday! She also included a nice birthday card for her!
