The sales clerk said exactly and kindly, "Hi, how are you?" My response was well and yourself? She responded, "Good, just letting you know we close in 10 minutes, but please feel free to look around." I did not find this rude at all. Afterward, Mr. Victor and his family came in. The sales clerk said the same thing, kindly, and his wife seemed to not have an issue with this, seeing as she responded "Okay, thank you," with a smile. After that, Mr. Victor's response was, "That's a pleasant way to greet us, I'm not spending a dime in this store." and he stormed out of the store. His family remained to browse and apologized to the sales clerk for how rude their father/husband was when she was so friendly and did not do anything wrong. I worked in retail many years ago, and for one know you cannot simply lock a door to close. You have to count change, restock, clean, etc. You're not able to do this with customers still browsing. I've been coming to DeeGee's since it was across the street at Ruddy Duck's. They have an excellent selection of books and gifts. I have ALWAYS found the staff so friendly and helpful. DeeGee's is a must stop for anyone visiting Morehead City!

They had model cars (snap) for younger kids. They had a lot of STEM sets for girls and boys. There were circuit boards (snap), robot kits, chalk kits, etc. They had a huge selection of games. They accommodated me and only charged another 5$ which I expected it to be a lot more. I also love it as my S/O never felt harassed or looked down upon by being a female they were so excited to share stories and help find items and just loving the genre and hobby. I usually hate leaving their side because of harassment but I felt comfortable exploring while they have a good time talking and laughing to the employees! I happened to be standing behind a local with whom she was having a nice conversation, I waited patiently for them to finish, they were having a discussion on facial care products. It was sweet and the cashier was very responsive and friendly. After a fairly long wait, I greeted the cashier. The reception was cold, unwelcome, almost to the point that I wanted to put the items back, but had expectant grandchildren behind me. I really like the contents of the shop and it's displayed very nicely. Some time spent on customer friendly service will make a tremendous difference.
