The poor old thing (the secretary) was really showing her age with years of touching up, damage and oxidation. She was long overdue for a rehaul. I found AAA on Yelp and texted Keith. His response was quick and honest and he was willing to take the job on at a very reasonable cost, and referred me to Stan. Stan was also quick to respond and we arranged a time for pick up and an ETA. Stan contacted us anytime he had a question about something and sent pics of her in progress. After about 2 to 3 weeks, he was ready to bring her back and we were extremely flabbergasted at how gorgeous she had turned out. When you have a piece of furniture so long and it looks so worn, it's hard to imagine what it could look like beautified. I am attaching before and after pics to show what wonderful work they did, which included completely stripping her, which Stan said was VERY labor-intensive. She was covered in old varnish and old polish. I digress. Here are the pics, and a very high recommendation for AAA.

Bob has refinished and redone all kinds of vintage and modern furniture for decades, he's an absolute expert. Recently I brought he and his partner two large pieces that have been in my family forever and were pretty rough and damaged, an armoire and one was a sideboard. They meticulously removed the old finish, then I selected a new stain with Bob painting swatches on my piece to see. He also put all new hardware on them. When I came to pick up my furniture I was amazed at how beautiful they looked. Completely redone to better than their former glory. They were perfect, and I will enjoy them so much more now, as will my descendants. Bob and Ben are the experts and do excellent work, you can trust them with your treasures.

When I received the chair it was in rough condition with extensive water damage to the ottoman. Tom took great care in repairing, replacing, and restoring the wood, and fixing up the metal parts on the chair. He was clear and honest about the cost and the time it would take. Due to the water damage to the ottoman, Tom had to completely re-veneer that and recreate the wood at the foot. In addition, he removed, sanded, and sealed the metal parts which had been rusted. For the chair, he stripped the old finish, refinished the veneer and fixed the damage throughout. I could not be more pleased with the end result. It's obvious that Tom takes great pride in his work. I would not hesitate to return to Furniture Restore and More for future projects. *Note that the upholstery was completed elsewhere.
