The old signs were green aluminum with vinyl letters that were disintegrating. After checking with numerous companies to undertake this project, we opted for Sierra Safety Company. We provided an inventory of signs and street names. They provided an example to demonstrate their work and it was impressive. The signs incorporate our District graphic, along with the street names. We were concerned that going with a brown background with white letters may not be as visible at night. These signs have a reflective film over them and they practically glow at night. The proofing of the signs was done online, and the turnaround time was well under 2 weeks from approval. We had a few minor issues including brackets that were rusted in place. We ordered replacements and they arrived the next day. A poll of the residents in the District were overwhelmingly positive as how quickly this project was completed, along with the quality of all the signs. If you are looking for a similar project, I would recommend that you contact Sierra Safety Company for these needs.

About 4 years ago Tanko installed a new submersible pump for us using one that was over-sized for the output, they married brass fittings with galvanized fittings and did not run a ground wire (required since 1991). First, the owner Mike is not only extremely knowledgeable (30+ years in the business), but he is gracious, kind and patient. He answered all of our questions and provided a very nice solution to our low producing well at a price I thought would have been at least $2000-$3000 more. The solution was a 2500-gallon water tank positioned where we wanted it, out of the general view when driving in to our property and moved the over-sized pump to the tank and put the correct pump in the well. Another thing was that he was there helping set the tank and was periodically checking on the job and encouraging his team throughout the process. His team, Clayton and Steve, were terrific. They definitely knew what they were doing and went about the installation very methodically, wasting no time. Their demeanor was very, very pleasant, read professional, and were willing to answer any questions I had (I'm quite curious about stuff). They did not fumble about like some others we have experienced. We were impressed by the design of the installation, it was very neat and tight, taking only the space necessary. Icing on the cake was that they used all stainless fittings where metal was required otherwise they used schedule 80 pvc. None of that galvanized stuff for them. Yes, we would highly recommend them to all.

This is the LAST place you would want to have your event, in the town of Auburn CA…read more The building is old and dilapidated......they should have demolished this place 20 years ago. The food is quite awful.....last time I was there, they were still using canned green beans. An interesting factoid about this Lodge: about 20 years ago, the members purchased an acre of land on the other side of town, near Raley's market. That land still sits empty, because the older members refuse to vote for the new Lodge building. It wouldn't cost them a dime to move: a real estate developer had offered to build the new lodge for nearly nothing, in exchange for their downtown Auburn property. The members refuse to budge. So the younger members are waiting for the older ones to die off so they can proceed with the plans for a newer building. Note that the Placerville Elks successfully moved to Shingle Springs, into a modern new facility that is the State Of The Art (as Elks Lodges go). The Placerville lodge should be a model for the Auburn Elks, should they finally decide to tear the old Elks Lodge down.
