The therapy/program is suited to my problem, so I'm going to focus on what I liked about the way the facility is run. 1) Not pertinent for me, but easy to get in to, parking is not a fiasco -- this actually is a major afterthought for most places as they try to put in-group offices together. Instead, PT not requiring a drop off and long walk or not having to navigate a bunch of corridors is a pretty big deal. 2) I've been early both times and this place isn't overbooked. Overbooking is an increasing problem among specialties and there is less and less regard for the patient's time. They're busy here, but it's not slammed or over-crowded. Very big plus. 3) You can miss the turn in here, and even though it's a busy road, it's in a location that you have several choices of directions to come with, it's only a 1-on-1 road with good sized breakdown lanes All of the patients seem to value their time there, and everyone that works there seems to be doing what they want to do. Physical Therapy and recovery are a very personalized experience - that appears to be the top priority at Top Hat. If your injury or problem has been particularly discouraging or draining, this is a really big deal an I recommend them highly.

The entire staff are all very friendly, caring and highly qualified at what they do. The office is very clean and everything is in its place. I never felt rushed or ignored. I really felt that they take their patients' needs as priority. (I am hopeful that I will not be going back for some time.). But, if I need PT, that's where I would go. The folks were well intentioned and caring but not very detailed oriented. Communication always seemed to be an issue, and my medications were never quite right. The individual therapy was fine, and the groups were hit or miss, depending on who facilitated. The life coaches were just unreliable but nice and well intentioned. My biggest reservation involved our dependence on rides to the store, appointments or to the clinic. Being on time always seemed to be an issue, and schedules would change at the last minute with no communication. I intended my stay to be a six month treatment experience but only completed one month. That's all I could take. I was discharged and transferred to a sober living facility but foolishly decided to continue with Blue Sky IOP for "treatment continuity". I lasted 3 more weeks before reaching the end of my rope. Overall, Blue Sky was a learning experience and like most such services, it's exactly what you make of it. I sought to make the best of my time there but was very glad to leave and finally cut ties completely. UPDATE: Today, I am working on 3 years sobriety and remain hopeful about long term recovery. Now that some time has past, I definitely see how Blue Sky was a major challenge in my post treatment recovery, but I plugged into another program and learned from that whole ordeal. I finally got ahold of my grandmother tonight. No one told her of my call. She could have passed it on if she was busy, anything. What if it WAS an emergency?? Thanks Janine. Didn't start out that way but that's where it is now. This is a for profit organization and they have cut staff over the last 3 1/2 years so that the poor nurses and aides are worked off their feet. They cut all kinds of nice things they used to do like holiday lunches for the patients - and the food is pretty mediocre. But for the inefficiency of the office and the rudeness of same I would say try somewhere else.

What was not good was the care my husband received. I was there every other day, and I left each day dissatisfied with his care on the "ward". Also I paid for PT and OT services 5 days a week each. They did not give that care. He was lucky to see either of them a couple times a week. I complained but it did not change. AND I was billed for all the days that he did not get care. By the time he left the facility, he was so weak that he could barely stand. It took a month of at-home services to recover from the inactivity while he was in the facility

Floor nurses and CNAs are overworked. Unit managers never offer to help or even ask if we need…read morehelp. Medications aren't being ordered for patient. Nurses aren't putting in orders correctly. Turnover of staff is huge. Agency workers make up 50% or more of their staff. Poor pay for staff. Lots of favoritism. Employees talking in other languages other than English on units. Makes some families who visit uncomfortable.

The meals served are better then 4 other rehab centers I've been a patient in. Activities are available and quite varied. Cards, cooking groups, movies, crafts etc. You can be as busy as you want to be. PT staff does a good job at rehabbing patients that are willing to put in the effort.

Neck & Back in Danbury and it was a miracle. Dr David Bomback is amazing and highly professional. He spent a good deal of time testing my husband and explaining to him what he thought the problem was. He was so thorough and professional and his manner was great. He put my husband on a steroid course and within a few days he was feeling better. Because of the coronavirus Dr. Bomback recommended a followup by Telecall. Every minute of our experience with Dr. Bomback and his staff was incredible. It turned out to be a Sacro issue and NOT a disc. We would highly recommend Dr. Bomback to anyone with Neck, Back or Spine issues. This was a fantastic experience. My husband is doing very well thanks to Dr. David Bomback.
