I have been a student at Tease since May of this year and it has completely changed my life! I have no prior dance experience, and couldn't even touch my toes when I started. I'm also a size 14 and on the chubbier side so I was really nervous about feeling judged for my body. However, the atmosphere at Tease instantly put those thoughts at ease. Everyone there is very welcoming and friendly, and you will meet people of all shapes and sizes at Tease. All bodies are welcome and celebrated! I feel so honored to be part of this community and hope that it continues to grow. The facility itself is very clean. The floors are wiped down in between each class and the equipment is cleaned as well. The bathrooms are clean and they are even stocked with hygiene products and washcloths for drying your hands. 10/10, I recommend Tease to anyone who will listen! read more

I enrolled in two intro courses. (Burlesque, Becoming Starlets and Bellydance.) I was going to enroll in one of these based on which one I liked better. The first one went fine but when I came into the establishment tonight, presumably to take the second class, I asked the lady at the front desk when it started and she told it had been cancelled. I asked why and she said that no one signed up for it. I know for a fact that they charged me for both classes. Even though she claimed that 'the credit didn't go through.' The way this was handled was extremely unprofessional. There was no phone call or email or anything that this class has been cancelled and I just wasted my entire day after work getting ready for this class. It's a shame cause I liked the first course. But now I feel more comfortable looking for other establishments for dance class options. read more

I took a teaser pole class here in their other location, a lyra class pre-pandemic, and am now taking burlesque. I've usually taken burlesque classes in the city; they are much more expensive here, but most of the city burlesque studios have closed, so it's good to have the option. The stretches for the pole class (ballet-based) were excellent, and while pole wasn't for me, it was a good class. I highly recommend their taster class special. Lyra was a bit unstructured for me, but it was their very first session so that may have changed. The other lyra studio I've attended started with the hoops low and built a routine; here they started high and it was based more on learning/building on tricks and then doing your own choreo. I never had the arm strength to do a pretty mount, but I did learn a lot more tricks here than the other place. I'm enjoying the burlesque class, which so far is purely "learn some moves, do a routine" (after some basic stretches). It's not their normal teacher, so again, your mileage may vary. Teachers are very encouraging and it is a super positive environment. One of the things I particularly appreciate about Tease is that, unlike the other lyra/pole studio that I'm aware of in the suburbs, they offer a series of classes, instead of charging a monthly fee. Great for those of us who like structure and don't like automatic recurring charges. read more

I've been doing aerial at Tease for about 2.5 years now and I love it. Ashley is a very fun instructor and makes sure we're safe when learning and reviewing tricks. I just wish I had more time to take more classes! Buyers beware ... prices are high but if you invest in a Groupon. You would probably be in a similar situation as me. Buyers BEWARE of GREED Extremely disappointed that I was talked into getting the $20 Groupon to try an introductory class by a friend. Once enrolled, I was told they needed my spot for a full paying customer as that was their protocol. They also told me they did not have many introductory classes due to shortage of staff, however more classes would open up in the near future. Every time they had a class it was full, even by members, which doesn't make sense since it is an introductory class. However they didn't have a whole lot of offerings at this time. Any other times did not work with my schedule . After falling ill with COVID, I needed a doctors release before working out again. Regaining my strength and lung capacity took time. Once I was ready to enroll once again for the introductory class that I had paid for they told me they do not accept expired Groupon vouchers despite all of the prior attempts of usage. Super disappointed because why would I want to waste $20? A business owner, they should have worked with me due to all of these circumstances. After I lost my job I felt like I needed a pick me up and a friend told me that if I found a studio she'd come with me to dance as support. I loved it. By good fortune I got to do series 1 pole with Olivia and a twerk class with Lyhnzi and they were both amazing. I'm getting stronger and more sure of myself than I was a month and a half ago. I feel like this studio is worth the 40 min drive just based on how much fun I'm having and how great I feel afterwards. 100% I'd recommend here and I've told my friends about this studio in hopes they'd join. My cousins and I took a pole dance intro class and we had a wonderful time! Our instructor Ashley did a great job teaching the class! She was very patient, kind, and helpful! The location is beautiful inside and the staff was very friendly and helpful! This location has yoga mats and you can bring your own mats as well. I highly recommend trying an intro to class. I experienced Aerial Yoga with Kat on Friday, 7/20...it was awesome! I totally thought it was easy, but passed out when I got home and woke up so sore I had to ice my spine. I'm really out of shape and want more. I didn't really feel like I was working out and that she went easy on us, but man do I feel muscle groups now. If you are looking for something different to peek your workout interest, this is for you. They are a women's only, safe space where you feel comfortable in your own skin surrendered by a sisterhood that supports and encourages you. I'm going back for sure! read more

I went to Tease Dance and Fitness pre-pandemic. I can't believe I didn't write a review sooner! I loved this place so much. I took Aerial Silks which was amazing! It was one of the most unique things I have done and was always surprised by my ability to do some of the moves. You can purchase a set of classes; however, the instruction is very individualized to your skill level. The class has multiple students; however, you go at your own pace. The instructor only shows you a progression of moves as you master the previous one. Plus, everyone in the class is so encouraging and supportive. I absolutely loved it. I wish I could have kept going forever, but I had a foot issue and then the pandemic hit and we moved. They offer intro classes at a huge discount to see if this is your thing. I would definitely start with an intro. Just keep in mind that the intro class is more of an entire class instruction while the main classes are individualized in a group class setting. read more

Customer service is customer coerement for non, pre-registered students. They punish patrons for not pre-registering by charging late fees if not signed up 1 week before class. No consideration or pro-rating for prescheduled absences and makeups not available other than for a class another discipline. 14 yrs olds are considered "adults." The good: Great workout! I was sore all week. Compared to Flirty Girl's Pole class, Tease is so much more serious. We got to do pre-pole floor warm-ups which was a mix of pilates, meditation and yoga. My abs and core got a super workout. Another highlight of the class, we got to see advanced girls rehearse their final routine in another room, as well as our instructor perform a dance. Such amazing talents. The bad: First and foremost, Tease seriously needs to re-evaluate their communication strategy. My friend and I bought Groupons for this place, and registering for our class via phone was a pain. Lots and lots of phone tag. First my friend tried calling. She had to leave a message and when she got a response it was less than 24 hours before said class was to begin. I took over and played phone tag for an entire week before I got a response. I think the reason their communication is so sloppy is because their staff is heavy in part-timers. Regardless, the day of the class the staff was surprisingly organized! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now for Flirty Girl vs. Tease Pole Dance Battle: LATE ARRIVALS: FG - Their policy is you can be up to 10 min late for a class. Tease - Seems like whenever you walk in you're good. It was annoying to have folks walking in during the pre-pole meditation stuff. AMBIENCE: Both locations are neck and neck! The main difference, FG has a bar, a backroom for bridal showers/parties and a super nice locker room. It's more LA trendy. Tease is more NY hokkuh bar. Yes, East-coast-west-Coast battle. Otherwise Tease and FG have comparable workout rooms. FG's pole room might be a tad bigger but the setups are similar. LOCATION: FG - Chicago near warehouse looking buidlings. Tease - The burbs in a strip mall INSTRUCTOR: FG - My instructor was nice and very strippery. Tease - My instructor was nice, super classy and professional. CLASS: Tease is way better if you're serious. FG is sillier but still fun. read more

I love things that can be taken out of context and turned into sexual innuendos. When I found an aerobics class that includes "pole work" then I knew I'd feel right at home. I love to dance, I love to be silly and sexy, I like to just let loose. Their deal on Groupon gave me that chance. My friend and I tried out the 90-minute "Teaser" intro class. It's a very basic class that gives you a feel for what you'll learn if you decide to become a student. Our group had about 14 people or so and only 6 poles, so we had to take turns and I didn't get as much time on the pole as I would have liked (that's what she said!). However, the instructor assured us that normal classes do not have more than 10 people. The instructor, Melissa, a redhead with a rockin' body, was super friendly. She answered all of our questions, made sure to demonstrate all of the moves and made us feel comfortable with ourselves and the other people in the room. Her story of going from student to teacher is truly inspiring. At the time I bought the Groupon I was employed. Unfortunately, I was let go recently and I just cannot afford to sign up with them right now. I would love to have the opportunity to take more classes and definitely recommend the teacher we had. Yup. Still here! I'm on level 4 now and I've definitely improved. The only reason it's still missing that last star from me is again with the class size. 6 poles and sometimes if we're lucky, no make-up girls and/or someone missed class. About 90% of the time now because we're at a little bit of a higher level, there's less girls that continue on so everyone gets their own poles. BUT when it comes to signing up for the next level, we need to get the minimum of 5 or the class is cancelled. What a dilemma. I ABSOLUTELY ADORE Michelle and Barb. Both ladies gives you a challenging but doable workout! Both teaching styles are awesome. They're just so patient, detailed, and they both really break the new moves down very nicely with tips. I really like how even if Michelle is subbing for Barb, Michelle knows exactly what we're working on and she teaches it the same as Barb would. So much fun!!! My sister and two of our girlfriends went to our first class last night. It was awesome! Being my first time taking a "pole class" I really wasn't sure what to expect, but the owner (who was also our instructor) kept the mood very light and was super fun and very encouraging. The rooms are dimly lit, which helps take some of the pressure off (at least if it's your first class), and helps you to leave your inhibitions at the door :) We ended up going because there was a deal on groupon, and I would have signed up for more classes, but it's a bit of a hike for me, which was kind of a bummer. Hopefully, I can help with your decision by telling you a little about my own experience here - and why I believe Tease Dance and Fitness has continuously earned their 5 stars. I first walked into their studio on a whim with my best friend just over 8 months ago with the only intention of having our questions answered. Upon first glances, Tease has a very calm, welcoming and cozy environment. It's clean and has a sitting area, two restrooms, three studios, a small merchandise area and cute cubbies for your gear. At the time we walked in, we were both welcomed with smiles and happy greetings. Little did we know, as we signed the forms to try our impromptu teaser/intro class, that this building and the women who also come here would impact us so greatly in the most positive ways! After our 90 minutes of the teaser led by business owner and founder of Tease herself, Kristin, we were both hooked and immediately signed up for more! Tease offers the option to go all in at once or pay in segments throughout their 8 week classes for all of the various classes offered. You can even double up with more than one type! Tease Dance and Fitness is unique in a way that really sets them apart from an ordinary fitness studio - they provide the workspace to exercise AND stimulate individual creativity. You follow a course and can go at your own pace without pressure or judgement. My instructor is a total rockstar and is patient and kind and is in it for her students. She has been a major motivation for me and I am so grateful for her and for every instructor and classmate alike - we all have strengths and weaknesses and we share them it seems in our community of aerial arts. I am in this for life and as a level 5 poler I am determined to master whatever I can... I have NEVER been athletic - and have struggled with my weight, confidence, and self esteem for my whole life. On top of that, I lost a lot more after I was laid off just a week or so before coming to the studio. One of the most positive outcomes of becoming a student here is that I have found a safe, therapeutic, welcoming and supportive atmosphere of dynamic women of all backgrounds, sizes, ages, and abilities. Anyone can pole! Coming to Tease and sticking to our class every week has helped me realize that I am strong and I am sexy and that I am capable! My confidence has skyrocketed and I am doing things that I never thought I would be able to do. And I FEEL good about it. I love coming to Tease! I've been a student since December, 2014 (of 8 levels, I am now a level 5) and I can't express how great it is to have a workout in my life that is as fun as this. I have over 10 years of dance training under my belt, and if ever I have learned anything about my habits in exercise, it is this; I need classroom settings to thrive. The second I walked away with my dance minor degree and had no set dance lessons, working out went away very quickly. Tease lets me be on a structured schedule with familiar faces and instructors that watch me progress and encourage me. I love that Tease has classes that are 90 minutes long. The first pole class I had taken had only 6 classes in a session at 60 minutes each. I felt like I learned very little, had no time or attention to working out or strength building, and concentrated solely on gossiping with each other, simple dance moves and shaking your butt. Tease was a refreshing change. There is always time set out for a proper warm up and work out; and instructors are great about adjusting stretches and workout depending on the students needs. These classes concentrate on really making students strong enough and confident enough to do moves that you never thought you could do. I'm not going to lie, it is a bit of an expensive habit for me. But there is a reason why there are a good amount of students who come back every session; it is worth it. And for me I know I am getting stronger and better. Also, I'm not going to lie, part of why I like the classes so much is because of the instructors. Since being in this studio, I have had a lot of different instructors, and there are some that I simply like their classes/work outs better than others; that happens to be the nature of how I like to work out. All of the instructors have their strong points and styles, but It has taken me a while to find the instructors that I will absolutely stick with because their teaching styles and workouts flow with me. This is a wonderful, positive environment to explore a different kind of strong, confident workout, and one that you can feel very sexy in! Highly recommended for the one time bachlorette party goers, for the gals (or guys) wanting to try it out having little to no experience, and for those people who have lots of movement/dance/gymnastic experience who want something different. Best workouts ever! i have been working out at Tease for over a year now, and I must say how life-changing this experience has been for me. Dana was my instructor, and she is the best! She has led my class through the first six levels of class, and she has molded us into strong, confident dancers. I am a sister for life! Each class starts off with a meditation and workout on the floor. They work out your core, arms, and legs to prepare you for all the tricks you learn. After those 45 minutes are up, you learn tricks and transitions. At the end, you get a chance to dance and put all of those tricks and moves together in a freestyle routine. I also take Burlesque class with Dena on Sundays. She is amazing! She also starts class with a workout on the floor, and then all the fun is during the second half of class. She teaches you a routine each session, and we learn different tricks of the trade. We learn how to dance with boas, chairs, and gloves. I totally recommend every woman to try Tease. If you choose to stick with them, you will see your body and life transform. Not only are you losing weight and building muscle, but you are making friends for life and finding your inner beauty. I had such a great experience trying out the intro classes that were available. I was able to try three intro classes for $50 which is a really good deal! I tried intro to pole fitness, intro to aerial silks, and intro aerial yoga. Each one was unique in its on way and made my decision of which one I wanted to do so hard. The atmosphere in the studio is very welcoming and its decorated so cute. My instructor for my pole class Jessica was very nice and made me feel very comfortable for my first time. My favorite class was aerial yoga with Kat. I love how she incorporated essential oils. Its such a great way to relieve stress. I was able to work on my lower back pain and neck as a well. They offer 8 week session classes and you are able to sign up and do a payment plan if needed. I definitely recommend and I can't wait to go back! read more

Love Tease, They have taught me everything I know about dancing & pole. However, I feel like I could of learned more with 7 courses and all the money I paid. I also wish I had been addressed correctly when trying to make up classes. Of course, I was forsure jipped out of money & classes due to covid and I didnt think that was really fair due to the current pandemic. It is what it is, this place is great for learning & routines. some teachers are more experienced then others, I had tried a new teacher each course just to keep an open mind during my learning experience & it was quite different with each one. some instructors are more yoga focused, some are 2-3 poses focused, and some are routine focused, and some just want you to play with what you know. I wish I had a more 1 on 1 experience because as you excel at something and the rest of the class is still struggling, your just stuck waiting for others to learn a step that was simple for you. Tease Dance & Fitness is my happy "me" place. I'll start with the objectives for those trying to get an understanding of the studio, and then i'll mention the subjectives of why I wouldn't go anywhere else. This particular studio focuses on strength and abilities. The classes are taught in succession of levels. Each class is 90 minutes long and begins with a stretch/meditation, then a section of strength-conditioning. You'll spend a portion of class learning new tricks/moves and then a portion learning how to integrate those into a dance. Each instructor will tailor every class for each student, modifying to make things more or less advanced as needed. It's common to move up in levels with the same classmate, creating a community of strong women. Some studios are more "sexy". This studio focuses on strengths, confidence, beauty AND sexiness. Here we are goofy, fun, sexy and strong, all in balance and comfort. Here, you are...you. I have been going to Tease for 18 months, now. Part of me wishes I would have written the review the day I started, but perhaps it's better testament that nothing about what I would write then, has changed now. The classes keep me in shape, physically, and the staff and other dancers keep me in shape emotionally. The investment in yourself, even for 90 mins each week, yields returns like no other. I am happy, healthy, strong and confident. I came to Tease to improve my confidence, not even owning shorts, and now i am so proud of what I can do, that I can't even stop to judge myself for what I can't. I have taken dance classes here and there throughout my life (ballet, tap, jazz) - for fun, to keep in shape, to learn new terms and moves. So - when I saw a groupon for Tease - I knew I had to try it!! Sometimes you just know you're in the right place with the right people -- so welcoming, so inviting. A variety of women - backgrounds, ages, personalities, shapes and sizes! And, when I watch myself, my instructor Kristin, and classmates dance - I am so proud - so proud of all of us taking the time and making the effort to exercise, believe in our beauty, and realize that sexy to not a bad word and that sexy is achievable by all women!! After going through 8 weeks of a Level 1 class I feel like I need a refund. Am I biased about workout classes? Yes. Completely. I am paying my hard earned money and taking time out of my day so I expect to be sweating and shaking every minute of the class. Not the case with Tease. Tease is located in a strip mall and is decorated in dark, cabaret- esque decor. Cute if you are coming in for a bachelorette, etc. There are J-Lo laser lights going on while class is in session and music is played on an ipod speaker system on the floor. They have been here for 4 years and no stereo?! For a 90 minute class I was expecting to spend a good 45 minutes on some gut wrenching stretches, abs and leg lifts. Instead 10 minutes or more was spent wasted chatting about nonsense and than we are told to "warm ourselves up" either freestyling or doing meditation. What am I paying for? A lot of times we were told we wouldn't do a "full" warm-up since we had already stretched. I don't think I did a full warm-up ever. When it came time for actual instructed warm up, I am not kidding you, we would do 3 (insert name here) and be done. And than some more conversation to reverse the 3 reps we just did. After warm-up is the 15 minute transistion to pole-work. I say 15 minute transition because the instructor would take time to fiddle with her ipod, chat with some of the students, show off a trick, wipe down a pole, etc. Meanwhile our "warmed" up bodies did nothing but get colder. There was a lot of standing around waiting for someone to tell you what to do but it never came. I honestly blame it on whoever is training these girls because they all came out and said they started out as students and are now teaching. I'm sorry but teaching a class is harder than it looks and without the proper training the end result is a bad class. Final Analysis: most nights I went to the gym BEFORE I went to class since I knew I would get a better workout there than standing next to a pole later. Save yourself the hassle and money and take classes elsewhere. If you are feeling naughty I would recommend Cardio Striptease at All About Dance. I have never taken that particular class but have taken with the instructor and she will kick your booty to suburbia and back. read more

This is by far the best experience you will ever have! Tease literally changed my life! I started out 30lbs over weight after having 3 kids in 3 1/2 years. I just didn't feel that great about myself & certainly not too sexy. A friend at work mentioned it to me and took me to a class. I was so shy and really really uncoordinated; I didn't think I could really dance all sexy without bursting out into tears or laughter. I started taking classes with a group of girls age 20-49 of all different sizes and back rounds. It's 90 minutes of me time. The ladies are all so supportive and each new trick you learn, you feel so sexy! They even called ME graceful (my nickname used to be oops). I'm in a level 6 out of 7 and going to graduate with my PHD (Pole Hottie Degree) soon. I lost 30 pounds, feel great. I could go on forever. This is a life changing experience! Its a great way to have naughty good fun in a safe environment. If you don't think pole dancing is your thing, try the belly dancing, burlesque class, booty camp, ballet pole, or any of the classes. Or if the pole dancing is too tame or you have a baccalaureate party, try the lap-dance class. It is the most ridiculous fun you will ever have. They do a monthly class that is the best girl's night out EVER (and timed at early enough to go out for the rest of the night partying). TEASE. I don't even know where to begin. I have been taking classes here since January (almost 9 months) and it has been quite the journey. I must say that in the beginning, I was intimidated. The first class I took was Burlesque with Dena. I took this class with a Tease veteran. I will note that I have a dance background but was WAY out of practice since my high school years. My first class, I didn't know what to expect but Dena talked us through it and was very helpful. Each class I found myself becoming more and more excited, playful, and having fun! 9 months later and I am a burlesque addict! I have my own wardrobe of fabulously sexy and cute burlesque outfits and Dena has become much more than an instructor. She regularly emails just to check up and has been an amazing support system. I tried the Pole class for my second set of classes. DANG! I have no arm strength so this was a HUGE challenge to me. I am by no means a skinny-mini girl and the first couple classes I became easily discouraged and had some self esteem issues. My instructor Tracy was constantly encouraging and tailored moves to make them easier on me or would say, "You are so close!" if I was having difficulty with a trick. There has been a huge transformation from the first class I took until now! I was injured in a car accident in July and had to miss classes because of it. The girls in my pole class sent me a get well card and I received emails from each instructor with well wishes and asking how I was feeling! I'll tell you how I was feeling, LOVED! The next session started and I was feeling awful knowing I could not sign up for classes because of the medical bills and car expenses due to the accident. I shared this with a few of the instructors and I got a call from the owner, Kristin one afternoon followed by an email saying she was sorry about the accident and wanted me to be able to take classes if I wanted and we would work out the payment. Needless to say, I wanted to cry. Tease is more than a workout. It is more than learning tricks and being hot and sexy (although that is a huge part of it!). I have met the most amazing women at Tease. The instructors are like old friends. Everyone knows your name, or wants to know your name! I feel an instant calm walking into the studio, so much so that I get there early to unwind before class starts. I have a burlesque name and work on my own routines at home. My body has changed, yes. But more than anything, my spirit and passion is something that cannot be taken away. I have to say that in an environment full of women, you would think there would be a competitive nature of this "sport," however I find it is completly the opposite. Everyone is very encouraging, clapping for each other and hooting and hollering when you master a new move. I laugh, I dance, I workout, I am obsessed with Tease!
