They are still fundraising to build a playground for children 5-12 years old. Once that playground is built I'm sure it will be even more of a hit for families. That said there are features that the 5-12 year olds will like! Two large slides, an obstacle to climb on, and a glider swing. There are also several walking trails. My son loved this park! The ground is super squishy rubber matting: nice shock absorbtion for all the running, and a fall on that wouldn't hurt nearly as much as on other material. The swings are surrounded by wood chips. There are several covered picnic areas and lots of trash/recycling bins. There's a sledding hill and a stadium as well. The grounds were well maintained: clean, grass and plants cared for. Not to mention a free splash pad if weather cooperates! It's small, but it seemed clean and parents were present and on top of things here. It did say on the website that the splash pad would start at 11:00. It didn't start until 11:10. But the tiny parking lot close to it filled up at around 10:45. So getting here early would be beneficial. There is also a covered gazebo -- so bring a lunch when the kiddos get hot and tired of the sun. There is a port-a-potty too in case the little ones need to use the bathroom. Visit if you can!
