This facility has essentially kidnapped my mother. First day, she falls, and they don't even call…read moreme. Then they file for Guardianship and Conservatorship behind my back (this should be illegal -- conflict of interest), and make up lies about me on the petition that falsely claim that APS found the house unfit, and that I have misappropriated funds. I filed a counter-claim but lost because it's very difficult to find a lawyer that takes Guardianship cases in the area. So she's been there for over a year now because of all this legal stuff. Now the worst part of this arrangement by far is that she is being forced to share a toilet with two male residents. This is practically an open invitation to sexual abuse, with my mother having Dementia and being given medications that make her drowsy. Never mind the fact that even prison inmates don't have to share their toilets with the next cell over. Also, after all this time, she's still in a wheelchair. They didn't give her a walker even though she is prone to falling. I had to take her one. It never gets moved, and she still has as much trouble walking as she did 10 months ago, so I do not believe she is getting the physical therapy she needs. They appear to want their residents to abandon their legs and embrace the wheelchair because that makes it easier to control them, and complicates attempts to discharge them since no one with stairs can take them home. In contrast, Cedar Ridge had her up and walking within a week. They also have no chairs in the rooms, nor room for them, because they are cramming two people into rooms made for one. That's not only bad for visitors, it also means the residents spend more time laying down, and are therefore at a greater risk of developing blood clots due to inactivity. Social Distancing is likewise impossible because the rooms are too small to place the beds 6 feet apart. Thus the place is a super spreader and every resident gets exposed to every bug that is going around. Oddly enough, when you tell APS about that, they say it's happening at every facility. So, they're all garbage? That's no excuse. That just makes my case that she would be better off at home if you ask me. The staff are a bunch of sexist bigots and hypocrites as well. On March 13th I complained to the receptionist about the "sh**ty" cable, and they said that I was not allowed to use profanity because it might offend the residents. OK, for one thing, no one is holding a gun to these people's heads and forcing them to stand up there next to the front desk for one thing. If they don't like the conversation, they are free to go somewhere else. For another, I then proceed to go into the Lunch Room where they are showing a movie (on a relatively small TV at that with no external speakers -- should be using a projector and sound bar with a remote sub at the very least, if not a full 7.1 audio setup), because my mother is in there watching it. The movie they were showing was "Grown Ups" for whatever reason. Now it's bad enough that they're showing a crappy 6.0 movie (for reference, even that barrel-scraping cash grab "Baseketball" got a 6.5). But as I was waking out of the room to go to work, Rob Schneider suddenly burst out the phrase "That poultice sh** doesn't work, it never worked, put some alcohol on this b***h." So, they weren't worried about the residents getting offended when Rob Schneider said profanity, just when I said it. Hypocrisy at it's finest. And this proves that they were just trying to boss me around for the sake thereof. Which if you look up the staff, will come as no surprise. They are all female. The only occurrence in the entire Huntington-Charleston area. The staff is entirely comprised of man-hating feminazi bigots. Now it makes sense. They get off on bossing men around for ego trips. And they always use "it's for the residents" as their rallying cry. Ironic considering how little care they show for their quality of life. So, the other day I was visiting with her and watching a show with her by hooking a phone up to her TV (which looks like a dumpster rescue from about 15 years ago, and doesn't even have zoom functionality, thus the snowy analog cable that's been split 100+ times to avoid purchasing multiple accounts gets side-barred AND letter-boxed, rendering a full 25% of the screen useless), and she was having difficulty concentrating on the show and seemed to be slipping into a catatonic state. I told the nurses that I thought they gave her too much. So, the next day while I'm visiting, they have the Sheriff's Department show up and throw me out of the place on some made-up accusations of being disrespectful or whatever. Apparently they don't want me to see what is going on there anymore. Probably because I refused to sign the Arbitration form. Maybe they're selling sex with her to those two males she shares a toilet with. It wouldn't surprise me. All they seem to care about is money, not the well-being of the residents.

We paid for a month but my mother n law got out after just a few days back in March 2024 and we are…read morestill waiting for my refund. My wife has been given the run around by the corporate office and the facility both and lied to. A few of the girls that worked there were really nice but the food was awful for older people to eat and no place for patients to sit except a wheelchair or the bed. My mother n law would enjoyed a chair of some kind to sit in but no room in the tiny rooms. She was never able to sit in comfort the whole time she was there. The rooms should be for a single patient not 2 people.
