Chris came to my house, explained in detail the work they perform, showed me the best way to solve my problems of my 20 year old gutters. He was very knowledgeable about this type of work. He took pictures, shared them with me and explained what needed to be done. The employees were very good, friendly and hard workers. They were dedicated workers who worked and produced a quality job. They finished, gather the trash, ran a roller magnet to make sure no nails were left after the job. My roof looks great and very satisfied with the work done by Sutton's employees. From the process of the estimate, to the contract, to even getting issues resolved--nothing but…read moreproblems, being interrupted by people, and quite frankly, some shady business practices. You should be well versed in contract law, paint colors, and triple check any paper against what is verbally discussed if you decide to use this company. Apparently they are very good at saying one thing and writing another. We'll start with the estimate. There is NO transparency in prices. If you watch your money or live on a budget at all--this is not the company for you. They show you photos of all these great doors, tell you to pick one, and then they'll start looking up prices...after they've talked your ear off about it for 30+ minutes, and you don't want to go through the entire 30 minute process again to guess the cost of another door. Simple list of A door is $X? They don't have it. I was told verbatim, "the brochures don't come that way." So apparently salesmen knowing the prices OR even the novel idea of using a pen to write down the prices hadn't occurred to anyone. We agree on the price, anyway, despite feeling like that was all a plot to hike the prices of the products. Slightly higher than others in the area, but we went with what we thought was an organized company. We requested the color that matched our siding. What I specified as the important part--that it match our existing siding. Not a problem, Brett says. We've got that. He writes down a color name. I'm not a door salesman. Or a paint salesman. I don't know one color name from the other. I just know he's shown me 9 colors and 57 doors and one is the color of our siding, plus that this meeting has gone on much longer than I expected an estimate over a door to go. That was in August 2023. The doors finally arrive from the supplier in February 2024. One possible date was given for install, so we took it, not feeling like there were a lot of options. They arrive (earlier than stated and sat in our driveway for a while before ringing the doorbell), and immediately start to work without even checking to ensure the product was correct. No, "would you look at these doors to make sure it's correct?" Nothing. I don't see the doors until they've got my old one already off and who knows where?! It's not like I can say "please put the old door back on because this isn't what I ordered." It's gone. The color: very much NOT the color of my siding. Grey. Blue grey. It's a great color of grey! Beautiful, really. The problem is: My house is brown. If you've ever looked at grey next to brown and kept from losing your lunch, I applaud you. The two are not even slightly complimentary colors. No one with any sense of a color palette--like someone who sells things in different colors for a living--could say these colors go together. So of course I am upset that I thought I was getting a beige/brown tone door and a blue/ grey one showed up. I call in to try to figure out what can be done. I am interrupted by Stacey. Repeatedly throughout this 30 minute call. Stacey doesn't understand why I would want to see the range of prices a product COULD cost before I buy it. Stacey doesn't understand why I might be upset that this is not the color I thought I ordered. Stacey assured me that even though she wasn't there, I was definitely shown every color in a correct representation and weighed my options. Stacey cannot tell me what comes next in the process of fixing this despite that I indeed tell her this is not the color I was *shown* in my house during the estimate and writing of the contract. Yet when I call back, I am told Stacey is the only person who can address this problem. So does Stacey know how to address the problem or does no one knows how to address the problem? Spoiler alert: it's no one. Which means I dig out the contract and the estimate, each of which actually list different colors but because the *contract* lists the incorrect color and obviously verbal remarks aren't worth the paper they're written on, they choose to uphold a piece of paper due to me not being able to correct the salesman that in fact, the color I asked for that matches my siding is called "heritage", which is beige, and not, in fact, "sandstone/beige", which is not beige at all, but grey. The verbal assurances that it would match the siding mean nothing--which, yes, may be contract law 101, but just another example of why you can't trust anything someone here says to you, nor do I think most of us would be able to correct door paint colors that are specific to a single supplier, having seen a single sheet of paper where we were unable to read the tiny font of the paint color, for under a minute, after saying "yes, this color matches my siding" and being assured "this is the color that matches your siding." So, know your paint colors, triple check your contracts, and never have an issue that you expect to fix, because they will help you with exactly none of this. They'll collect their $.

The owner whom I met while walking the block responded to my request for bid immediately and all follow up was quick, thorough, transparent and personal. He responded that very day. They communicated by text, email and phone and I could choose what worked best for me in any given exchange. It is so easy to get business done when a company uses all the tech available to them to reach their clients. I work full time and do not have the time to deal with any Mickey-Mouse operation who doesn't text or use other forms of communication, or takes forever to respond in 2024. 2. They are local, so I trusted them more. I was worried about shady contractors, so I liked that they had a local business address and staff who answer a phone, email paperwork etc. They also worked within what my insurance budget. Everything from the bid to the bill was above board, not shady! 3. The crew were the most hardworking I have ever seen. And, it was so hot that week! ‍They cleaned up after each session and were professional, polite and most of all very kind people. They kept their work contained in my yard and parked properly near my house in the street. They didn't encroach upon the neighbors' property. I received no calls or complaints. They kept all their equipment in order and they were not in our way. They parked their own dumpster to toss the old roof, and someone even came quietly after dark to retrieve it. Now that it's been a couple months, I wanted to share my experience working with the company. Throughout the project, I found the sales rep, office staff, and management to be courteous, professional, and generally responsive. When I reported concerns, Stonebridge agreed to fix the issues and worked through many of the problems I identified. Unfortunately, the installation side of the project was much more challenging. The biggest issues in my experience were with workmanship and quality control. Although Stonebridge has quality control people, it often seemed that completed work was not thoroughly inspected before crews left the job site. Instead, many issues were discovered only after I identified them and brought them to Stonebridge. Some examples of the issues I discovered included: - Step flashing had not been installed in one area where the roof meets a wall; wood was exposed. - A bathroom exhaust vent opening was completely covered over with siding. - Exterior light fixture mounting blocks and trim pieces were either installed crooked, not fully seated, or missing altogether. - Loose, bulging, and damaged siding in multiple areas. - Exposed nails through flashing, and bent drip edge. - Multiple areas where the roofing, siding, flashing, fascia, or trim installation required correction or replacement due to poor workmanship. These examples represent only a portion of a multi-page punch list I was asked to create by Stonebridge to document the issues. Another recurring challenge was communication between sales/project management and the onsite crews. I often discussed specific install details or repair issues with sales or office personnel, but many times that information was not communicated to the crews performing the work. Installers would arrive without a clear understanding of previous discussions, requiring the same issues to be explained multiple times. An additional challenge was the language barrier with the non-English speaking onsite crews. By itself, this would not have been a concern if there had been stronger supervision and communication from Stonebridge project management. However, when questions arose about workmanship or repairs, it was very difficult to communicate directly with the installers. My goal with this review is to provide an honest account of my experience so prospective customers know what they may encounter. If you choose Stonebridge, my advice is to stay actively involved throughout your project, inspect the workmanship carefully, ask questions, and don't assume completed work has already been reviewed or inspected. In my experience, Stonebridge was willing to respond after problems were identified, but much of the responsibility for finding those problems fell on me, the homeowner. This ultimately broke down my confidence in the quality of Stonebridge's workmanship.
