My truck needed to pass Emissions and this place was recommended. I left my truck undamaged, when I picked it up it was parked facing in a different direction. Took it home to find front end damage. Didn't drive or park anywhere else. Went back to them to report the accident, but the owner said that it had been over 24 hours. Can't go back that far to look at the video. Nothing that he can do! I just got out of the hospital and didn't move my truck for 6 days. Not willing to help . The parking lot is very small and they have tow trucks that are in and out of there. I won't be using them again! Just inspect your vehicle before you leave or don't use them

There could be worse places to break down I suppose.

Fun story, my crankshaft sensor went bad on my way to work down 210 South to Indian Head in Maryland. My car went in to limp-mode. I immediately called Geico for a tow, and the car died right next to my assigned towing service. The trucks were out on call, so despite my proximity to the business, I still had to wait for about 45 minutes, but the truck driver greeted me from across the fence and said he'd be around shortly to get me. He arrived not long after, and quickly proceeded to load my Subaru in to the bed. He went so far as to point out that my bumper had sustained damage, which was useful information from the dealership. I hope I get these guys again in the event of a southern PG county breakdown, I was pleased.

While scheduling a Maryland state inspection for a vehicle is easy to accomplish with Ft Washington…read moreAuto & Tire, it is evident that the main reason they "serve" as a Maryland State Inspection Station is for the added benefit of their crew obtaining the work required to pass the inspection rather than focus on what the customer needs in accordance with the Maryland state guidelines. ....talk about poor customer service!!! We took a vehicle for Maryland State inspection. They documented 3 "Declined Jobs" 1.stabilizer link right front has play 2.stabilizer link left front///suggested 3. battery hold down. (and a) note: "passenger door does not open properly" We took it to our mechanic who repaired the "Declined Jobs" AS REQUIRED. When we took it back to Ft Washington for reinspection, we were told it failed because the door had not been repaired. HAD FORT WASHINGTON AUTO & TIRE LISTED THE DOOR AS ONE OF THE "DECLINED JOBS" AS THEY SHOULD HAVE, our mechanic would have repaired the door also. When asked WHY they failed to list it as a "Declined Job" the response was "...because we don't repair the door so we couldn't give you an estimate". Again, since they could not benefit from the repair, they caused us GREAT inconvenience! Thus, we strongly recommend you take your vehicle to a Maryland Inspection Station which inspects your vehicle and DOCUMENTS THE INSPECTION RESULTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH MARYLAND STATE GUIDELINES. Fort Washington Auto and Tire certainly failed to do that.

Upon arrival, I pulled to the front but only accessible parking was available so, i pulled around back. Tamara saw me, ran out to meet me, took my keys, and got me right in! I was instructed to go inside and speak with Betsy. She assisted and had me giggling with shared interest. I made a few phone calls while waiting and then my car was done. Excellent wait time!! The entire experience was smooth, from the original phone to call to receipt retrieval. Thank you, all!!

My car was there from Aug 05th until November 19th only because of the health monitoring of staff. I brought my 2017 GMC Sierra (92K miles) to this dealership in early April to diagnose a…read morenon‑working passenger power seat, get a new key fob, and have a multi‑point inspection done. Their diagnosis: the entire seat track supposedly needed replacement for $1,600, the transmission cooler lines were "starting to leak" for $940, and the key fob would be $270. I approved the cooler lines and key fob since those were priorities, and paid the $205 diagnostic fee, even though the seat track diagnosis didn't sit right with me. When I picked up my truck--on a rainy day--I paid the $1,400+ bill and went home. The next day, once the truck was dry, I noticed a dent in the chrome section of my rear bumper that absolutely was not there before service. I contacted my advisor, Josh, who reviewed the security footage. To his credit, he confirmed the damage happened at the dealership and said they would take care of it. Around this same time, I also began experiencing a jerking sensation in the transmission that was not present before they replaced the cooler lines. I brought the truck back for the bumper repair. When I picked it up, the chrome piece had huge gaps and clearly didn't fit correctly--they replaced only the chrome section instead of the full bumper assembly, and it looked nothing like the original. So back it went for a third visit. I also asked them to diagnose the new transmission issue. After keeping my truck for over a week, they "adjusted" the bumper again and told me their transmission diagnosis was that it "probably needs a new transmission" due to the year and mileage--an estimated $7,000 repair. They still attempted to charge another $205 for a diagnosis that amounted to the word "probably." When I questioned how "probably" qualifies as a diagnosis, I was told that a real teardown would cost much more, as if they were doing me a favor by not performing one. Josh did end up waiving the fee, which was appropriate since no actual diagnostic work was done and should have been under warranty since they just did work on the transmission. As for the passenger seat? I did my own research, bought a $20 switch on Amazon, installed it myself, and the seat works perfectly. A $20 fix for what they claimed required a $1,600 seat track replacement. At this point, I'm convinced that because this is the only Chevy dealership in Fort Washington, they assume customers have no choice but to accept inflated or inaccurate diagnoses. Fortunately, Alexandria and other nearby areas have reputable dealerships--and after this experience, that's exactly where I'll be taking my truck moving forward.
