Dr. Pancho is great. He is not there all the time now but if you can get a time when he is in you will be satisfied. The staff is friendly and are helpful. The other vets that work here do a great job. There is one vet that is afraid of dogs and wants to put a muzzle on them and that doesn't make the dogs happy. Even though that vet does a great job o try to avoid if i know that is the one on duty that day. I have boarded 2 of my dogs there several times and they have reasonable prices and thr dogs are always cared for there. read more

I made an appointment to take my dog Brody during my lunch break. I told them exactly what I wanted before I got there. He needed to get his shots updated. I sit out there for 15 minutes which is great. I get to the back, she examines him, tries to upsell me, heartworm test, heartworm preventative. I do not have the money for that right this second I told her that I would schedule him an appointment for that. Then I proceeded to sit back there for 45 minutes waiting for them to come give him his shots. At which time they never showed up. I went out to the reception area and told them that I was on my lunch break I needed to get to work. What was the hold up? She acted like I was bugging her . . I sit back there 10 more minutes till finally I leave. If you have all day to go and have your pet looked at by all means, go there. I don't. No one seem to have any kind of sense of urgency. Tejas is a wonderful,caring place that delivers excellent pet care and services. They are reasonably priced and fair in the explanation of charges. In these Covid days they do their best to include you and let you be with your pet in the clinic. Some clinics restrict to "drop" off care which can be stressful for your pets, I know I appreciate them allowing me to be with my babies when they go. this place killed my cat. he came in with a blocked urethra and I was told it was a simple procedure. what the vet did was puncture his bladder when they inserted the catheter. they had him for 3 days then sent him home saying he is good to go which was a lie. he was never able to urinate when he came home. i took him back the next day and they said his bladder didn't feel full. I took him back home and he continued to drink water and still was unable to urinate. the rest of the weekend he drank water and I noticed he began to swell in his abdomen. turned out the water was leaking through his bladder which the vet at tajas damaged that cause too much damage to be repaired. they killed my cat and charged me over $1500 to do so! I verified with 3 other veterinarians that was the cause of the damage to his bladder. they had the audacity to send me a sympathy card, which I never read and just threw away. find a better vet for your animals. read more

Really not a good place. They are NOT compassionate as they claim. We took our dog in to be spayed, and when my husband arrived earlier than expected to pick her up, he was told that he would have to wait. When he asked why, he was not given a reason. When he asked if he could just see her, he was told no, and given no reason. He finally was able to see her once he threatened to call the police. The 'ladies' at reception were rude and could not have cared less. The doctor called to check on her later that night, and then he brought up the incident, defended his rude staff, and basically told us to go elsewhere. This week we received a letter from them stating just that--they no longer can 'retain us as a client' Fine by us!! We will never return here. read more

The staff is more concerned about getting out of work on time even if you show up 3 hours before they close. They will easily refer you to travel another Animal ER in CC that's 35 min away so they avoid you. They will also charge you the fee for the brief visitation just to tell you go some where else cause they close soon. As you walk in be prepared to be judged by them if you don't meet their social standards. read more

Tejas Veterinary Clinic saved my little Annie. She was at another clinic and was miss-diagnosed. We initially took Annie to be boarded with Tejas and ended up finding out that she had congestive heart failure and not "heartworms" as previously diagnosed. The Tejas Doctor called me, while on vacation, relayed Annie's symptoms and recommended immediate treatment. I have to admit, when I picked Annie up, I was so overwhelmed and shocked with what was going on with Annie that "I" was pretty rude with the office staff. They were very patient and understanding with me and the Doctor called me the next day to give further explanation as to her diagnosis and directions. Annie is a completely different little dog (full of energy) and under Tejas' care will continue to give us smiles. We continue to use Tejas for boarding and her conditional care; they know Annie (and me) by name and take excellent care of her - we never worry about Annie's well being while in their care. Annie loves it there too! When it's time to go to the Vet, she jumps in her little pink carrier and sits and waits to leave. The office staff is very helpful and courteous and the Doctors are very caring, compassionate and follow-up with calls, if necessary. The vets and staff at Tejas take phenomenal care of your pets. From basic exams and shots to urgent, critical care they are one of the best in Corpus Christi. I have been using them for about 6 years and the staff, for the most part; has stayed the same. They call you by name and and are super nice. This clinic is all about the money. They have beautiful rooms with beautiful chairs built with beautiful money their clients pay to sit on.. I asked to put up a lost sign and 2 days later they called to ask if they could take it down. They thought my cat had a stroke and 3 days later they realized the cat had ingested poison. My cat is fine now, but the bill was rather steep. Sure the service is better than Riverside if you can afford it but the quality of the veterinary care is just as excellent at Riverside. Plus Riverside cares more about the community than about stuffing their pocketbooks. This clinic would make more sense in Hollywood,CA than in Robstown TX read more

This is the 4th time I have written this review and will continue every chance I get. I have spent a lot of money here and tried to save a little by buying heart worm medicine at petmeds.com online. Tejas vet clinic will not approve because they want me to buy the same stuff at an elevated cost from them. I called today thinking my order was due in any day only to find out they will not approve. I told the girl I would not spend another nickel there and she said fine. What a racket. Times are tough these days and when you can save you should be able to. I took my dog to Tejas grooming, when I got him home, I noticed he was bleeding under his collar. When I took it off I could see they shaved his fur too short. He also had been shaved too short on the other side of his neck and had a sore from being shaved to short there also. I called Tejas Veterinary since they own the grooming business too. I let the office manager know what happened and she ask if I would like to bring my dog in the morning as a walk in. I came the next morning and let the office manager know I was there. She told me when the next available room was available, they would send someone out to get me. Me and my dog waited outside in the heat for an hour and forty minutes. One of their staff came outside to call in another pet. I asked her if they forgot about us. She said I am doing appointments and they were busy and walked off. I call the office and explain to the girl who answered the phone, how long we had been waiting and could I talk to the office manager. She said she wasn't in and did I have an appointment. I said I was a walk in and I already spoke to the office manager earlier and could I speak with her. She asked me again if I had an appointment. I told her I was leaving and I would let people know how we were treated there. She hung up on me. I hope this saves someone from waisting their time with these rude and unprofessional people. read more

Totally unprofessional vet and techs. After badmouthing the ear crop another vet did, he totally shaved the leg of our puppy for a splint and there is little to no padding between his now naked skin and the plastic of the splint. So now I not only have to worry about the broken leg, but a secondary skin infection from the surgical shave, which could result in razorburn. Never mind the fact that they never even asked or informed us the leg would be shaved! After speaking with his office manager we drove more than 30 minutes for him to redo the splint. When we got there we saw the backside of his head as he left and sent a tech in to try to tell us what a good job he had done. What a slap in the face to have spent more that $300 at this clinic, only to be lied to when we drove more than 40 minutes for them to add padding to the splint. At this point I wouldn't recommend even taking a stray dog to this clinic after the way they treated us and our puppy. Obviously no offer of a refund or an apology read more

While I can't complain about their vet care, the grooming side is terrible. They took a total of one hour with two dogs. This visit included a bath for each, one dog to be shaved and nails to be done for both dogs. My King Charles looks like she never touched him. When I asked about his nails she told me the battery on her file died and that was the best she could do. My other dogs nails were just as bad. The total for this visit (2 small dogs) was 72 dollars. I know grooming is hard work and I don't have a problem with the cost as long as they do a good job. One dog was scheduled to have surgery there next week. Unfortunately, because of lack of professionalism in their grooming department, I no longer trust them and will be moving on. I called the vet office and explained the situation. The lady on the phone was empathetic and explained she would let the office manager know. I've actually never made a Yelp review, that's how bad this experience was! read more

As a professional dog trainer, breeder, importer, and general GSD enthusiast, I tend to be as informed as possible about local vets. I have used this particular vet approximately three times. I have noticed that not only are they extremely slow about in taking animals, even in cases of emergency, they are also slow to do billing. Of the times that I have been in, once was for basic health check and vaccinations on a dog that was to travel abroad, they were not even equipped to perform the necessary documentation required for this action. On my most recent time in, which in fact was an emergency, I knew what the problems were with the dog and needed a vet to examine her and prescribe proper medication. I was told by a person not qualified to, in her words, "make the determination and we would have to wait for the vet". In the process of waiting and growing more frustrated I lost the 5th and final puppy from the ordeal. After the vet arrived he agreed with the requested drugs, administered one, gave me the other, and I took my dog to the truck. When I went to pay, I waited 10 minutes behind other customers to pay my bill. After what I consider to be a very long wait, I finally wrote my credit card number on one of their business cards and asked them to charge the card. I took my dog who was still in great distress home. As it turns out, they charged my card and completely forgot to destroy the number. I received a nasty letter from the practice manager about not waiting in line for my bill and my general dissatisfaction of the service. It was a rather snobby little letter sent AFTER they charged me approximately $90.00 for a shot, amoxi, and wait time. In all of the years I have professionally dealt with animals, specifically dogs, and vets I have not found a vet that is this inconsiderate of dogs or their owners. Please use caution when having to deal with this clinic. There is no reason to put good money in the hands of inexperienced, unprofessional, inconsiderate hands. I always try to recommend the best dog related professionals in my industry and this is DEFINATELY NOT ONE OF THEM. read more

Very unpleasant experience. Staff was rude and very unprofessional. I brought my beloved pet in for a procedure and the vet did not properly close his incision. After bringing him back in to get it corrected the staff tried to shift blame on me for their sloppy and seemingly inexperienced stapling skills. While I waited in the exam room I overheard a phone conversation with someone else claiming the same thing happened to their pets incision! Then after I observed my dog needed his nails trimmed they informed me that they had already trimmed them during his procedure which was a lie. My dog had not had his nails trimmed at all and I pointed it out to the vet and when she realized their mistake she said they would get it done. After they trimmed his two nails they demanded I pay for it over again when they should have done it to begin with. Also they told me over the phone prior that his procedure would cost 130 dollars I ended up being charged 260 dollars in the end. This place is filled with scammers who are not passionate about the care of your beloved pets and are only concerned about how to get the most money out of you. From the front desk to the pet grooming girl next door these people all have nasty attitudes and seem to be upset that you have burdened them with your pets needs. Do not trust your pets well being in the hands of these devious people over at Tejas Veterinary Clinic and beware of these scammers South Texas!!! read more
