Bummed tonight! Food okay. I had something that looked like a toe nail in my food . Believe it was plastic. Also had black bits. They were running out of foam containers so they rationed us 1 to share and some plastic containers. The foam containers are awful anyway so I was glad to have plastic ones. Much better than we expected. This is very much an Americanized Mexican restaurant, but it is well run with better food than we expected. We happened to be staying nearby and decided to stop in. The house chips are good and were served with a passable salsa. My partner enjoyed the pork sliders, but 4 sliders was a lot for just her. The veggie fajita salad bowl was better than we expected, with plenty of roasted peppers under the lettuce, cheese, and sour cream. The veggie taco and enchilada were nicely presented and paired well with some extra salsa. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but it seemed like they were distracted by an event in the other room. I meet an old friend for lunch here every 6 weeks or so (been doing this for around 3 years), and every time we get together, this place just has more and more issues... So, last Sunday we get there around 12:30. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The hostess was also our waitress and I noticed on the way to our table that the floors hadn't been swept or mopped for some time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We asked for a table and were taken to one with 2 condiment caddies. Not sure why there were 2 of them, but the waitress didn't remove the extra[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. My guess is one of the bussers was setting up the dining room for service and just left two of them on the table after a distraction? Anyway, I ordered an iced tea with lemon and Sweet 'n Low. She brought me a glass of water with lemon and Sweet 'n Low. I reminded her that I ordered iced tea and she said that they didn't have any. I thought to be a bit odd and must have had a perplexed look on my face. She then offered to go to the bar to get some tea for me. I just declined and said I would stick with water. Seriously, if a customer orders something and you know it's at the bar, just pretend it's a margarita and get it for them. The next issue was the basket of chips she brought to the table. They were obviously from days gone by and they were broken chips that were about the size of quarters. Really disappointing. We didn't say anything and my dining partner took her silverware roll and grabbed her fork. It had what looked like a giant onion or piece of cheese on it. I went to another table and grabbed multiple silverware rolls, hoping one of them would have clean utensils. The food arrived and it was adequate. Nothing great, nothing bad. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I then went to the restroom and was really disgusted by the condition of the thing. It was obvious someone wasn't feeling well and made kind of a mess. I'm guessing it had been there for some time. Anyway, I mentioned it and kind of kept an eye on the staff (I was sitting, facing the direction of that back hall where the restrooms are located). After an hour, nobody went to clean it[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. So, I'm in no hurry to go back and I think I'll suggest a different venue for our next lunch date. I visited tequila end of May this 2025 and was incredibly disappointed to discover the hard way that they put onions in their chicken tacos. I had never heard of such a thing and certainly never had heard that it was remotely possible that onions would be present. The menu clearly states chicken tacos contains chicken, lettuce, cheese. I was not warned by staff that it had onions in the entree so i could have had the opportunity to order something else. My meal was ruined as the other individual in my party ate their meal and then we had to wait on my alternate meal to be prepared which I took home since the other individual was done eating. I have an allergy to onions... I wish restaurants would clearly list the ingredients instead of assuming everyone can eat whatever they serve with no consequence to the consumer. read more

So we dropped in on Tuesday night. Taco's on sale woohoo. The happy hour ends at 5:30pm but the half price alcohol and appetizers are a great deal. Try the mini chimi's! I always order the cilantro lime rice and the charro beans. I absolutely love both these items. Change up the taco's as many varieties are on special Tuesday evenings. This is a jewel of a find. In a pretty low-key strip mall and you could easily miss it. The dining room has multiple sections. Chips and salsa are excellent, and they are good about keeping them refilled. We all got different options and loved what we got. The service was great. 4 stars because the bathroom are in desperate need of remodeling/updating. Avoid if at all possible. And they serve Coke products but not Coke Zero. I will be back!! read more

We had an event in one of their private rooms for about 40 people on Sunday, July 10. It was perfection. Coming from me, I can tell you, that is high, high praise. Rick, the event manager and our two wait person did everything "right." I had to make all arrangements from my home in California and only met briefly with Rick two days before the event. He very patiently listened to me, clarified things to me and addressed all of my concerns. When I arrived on Sunday everything was set up exactly as I wished and even better in some areas. Our guests expressed lots of appreciation for the two wait people and the food was excellent as well. I ordered the steak nacho burrito ( no sour cream Please in the instructions), chicken fajita and a fried chicken taco for delivery. The delivery took a reasonable amount of time. However I was given the order WITH sour cream and without the taco. I called the restaurant to remedy the situation. I spoke with a manager who when presented with the issue told me to come pick up my DELIVERY order. When I told her it was a delivery order, more than once, I was told "so what do you want to do about it?" After being asked this multiple times with the manager treating the customer as if I was in the wrong, despite them 1) charging me for item I didn't receive and 2) sending me an item I didn't ask for I decided to tell her not to worry about it. I have been here a few times in the last year. I think the adult drinks are good, and the service is also good. I have to say there are only certain things I like to order on the menu--the queso, some of the bowls .... I don't care for the plates with a meat/rice/bean combo. We decided to try out Tekelas. Aquirah and Kyleeushi both ordered the Jerk chicken. Kyooah ordered the Americana, I ordered the fish taco, I can't seem to recall the name of it from the menu but that's beside the point. Kyleeushi and Aquirah both said the jerk chicken was very odd tasting. After they finished eating Aquirah's stomach hurt very very bad. Horrid stabbing pains intruded upon her stomach. Later on it was found that she got food poisoning..very tragic indeed. And Kyleeushi was farting all night with an ungodly stench. Moral of this review...do not order the jerk chicken. Moved out of town a while ago and came back to meet some friends for my wife's birthday. Stopped by Tekela cause it used to be great and my goodness this place has really gone down hill. Service was awful. Our server was incredibly snippy and rude. Prior to us getting there they had spilled a drink next to our table and did not clean it up so there were just wet towels all over the floor next to us. Manager came up to wipe up the floor with his feet and interrupted our conversation. Wife ordered a steak chimichanga and they brought a ground beef burrito. Margarita was awful and my carnitas was dry and had zero flavor. And with food still on the table the server rushed us so she could get her check to go home. Honestly just a really disappointing experience. Would not recommend to anyone and we will not be going back. Such a bad experience here. It's pretty simple to get "Mexican" food right, and they failed spectacularly. Our server was good, but the food came out in three waves. It was busy so I'll give the server a pass, but somebody should be coordinating tickets in the kitchen. We had six guests, three of the meals came out. Waited 15 mins for two more, one of which was wrong and they suggested we eat it anyway. Umm, no. The last meal came out after another 10 mins and it was wrong too! How hard is it to make a steak burrito? Apparently very hard considering after waiting an excruciatingly long time, the steak burrito came out as a ground beef burrito. Did you know you could get fries here? Don't, they'll be cold. Even the most basic staple of Mexican food, salsa, watered down, unsalted garbage. The large guacamole was really a medium. I mean, just charge more for a large quac like other places. It could be shared with four people, not six. Of course it doesn't say anything about the size on the menu and the server didn't think to mention it wasn't enough for our table and suggest we order more. We also got a pitcher of margaritas. They're... not good. Probably loaded with cheap booze and nasty mixers. Overall I think this place shouldn't be in business, but because it's location is near people with money it'll probably stay open. I won't ever be back and will absolutely talk about the bad experience to anybody that cares to listen. Do yourself a favor and drive 10 minutes to someplace better. read more
