I read a comment here about how this ranked right up there with Mexican food found in SoCal. I lived in SoCal for over 2 decades, and I was excited to give La Banda a try because of this particular review. Portions were comparable, but in my opinion, that is as far as it goes. Taste of both our entrees was rather bland, as was the guacamole. Seemed to be a popular location as every table was filled and people were waiting all the while we were there. Thankfully, our Foodie Card saved us $10 on the total. I will continue my search for an authentic Mexican restaurant here in the Toledo area that truly ranks up there with so many of the Mexican food establishments in SoCal. read more

Sign on building stated kids eat free on Tuesday with adult meal purchase so we stopped in and got 3 adult meals a 2 kids meals upon receiving the check we noticed that we had been charged for both kids meals so when we pointed this out to the waitress she then states that the free kids meals are only during dinner hours so we said it doesn't state this on your Sign out front but she just said oh well they will have to fix that then I guess. Went for dinner yesterday with 8 friends. Each of us had something different and there were raves all around. I had the steak a la Mexicana. Steak was not huge, but I still took some home after. This establishment is in a strip mall in a small town and is the anchor of the strip. The decor is over the top and the atmosphere is dull. I ended up not eating because I just wasn't feeling the place. It's to wide open for my liking. It reminds me of a cafeteria. The staff and service were perfectly fine and accommodating. I accidentally found this restaurant one afternoon when I decided to make a random trip to Waterville. Nestled inside a plaza near Kroger this place is more of a hidden gem than its surroundings. Overall 5 stars. Been here many times. Occasionally something is wrong but the wait staff is quick to fix. Food is really good. The portions are big and the al la cart is phenomenal. I've always ordered food here and they've been consistent except for my last one which was big order where they messed up three items. 3 beef soft tacos but they gave me one beef filling with three soft tacos. One cheese dip but it's missing. One nachos but it seems like the cheese dip was dumped into a pile of chips. The burrito rojo is not what I was expecting. If i order burrito, i would expect it to be wrapped in a foil and not be in a container with all the usual topping of enchilada...very disappointing to say the least read more

The service is always friendly and fast. I love their margarita-avoid the watermelon. It is not the best. I get the same thing every time and don't get tired of it. (Chimichangas, fried, chicken). I had the speedy Gonzalez which was off the lunch section. It includes a beef taco, beef enchilada, and rice or beans. It was ground beef and this was nothing special. Someone else ordered the huevos chorizo which was good. Don't forget to order yourself a golden margarita tho! I would give this place a 3.5/5. Served shredded unseasoned chicken meant for enchiladas in my taco salad and then proceeded to confirm that it was meant to be that way. Salad was bland and watery as a result.
