I really don't write reviews normally but Tekhattan's service was just amazing! My super heavy custom built PC stopped working. I contacted Tekhattan for their on-site service on Saturday around 6pm. They had two technicians (Dan and Alex) out to me that night. The technicians were very courteous, friendly and knowledgable. They were able to set up a time that would fit my schedule; they diagnosed my computer in less than 24 hours-- with their diagnosis they helped me find out what the problem was regarding my PC. Although I decided to move on without their further help, the technicians are bringing my extremely heavy PC tower back to me at my most convenient time. Thank you so much! read more

i had a great experience with Alex and co. Ironically, i have geek squad to thank. I was on hold for 18 minutes! While i was waiting, i contacted Tekhattan and Alex answered. He was very calm, very nice. He asked me about my problem and showed up a few hours later. I must have sounded pretty desperate because he had a plan, AND a back up plan, AND Daniel, his associate (showed up shortly Alex arrived). I have a store in Chelsea and my computer data...mui importante! Not only are they extremely good at what they do, they were very reassuring. i felt very comfortable. At my request, Alex called me at 10:30pm to let me that they were successful in recovering my data. They were a perfect antidote for an awful situation. Just awesome! read more

I had a really terrible experience with this company. I contacted TekHattan to replace the SSD on my Dell Ultrabook. I had already purchased a drive, however when I spoke to one of the company's technicians through their online chat system they told me that drive wouldn't work and directed me to another drive on amazon (fair enough). It took a week or so to get the new drive, once I had received it, I contacted Tekhattan and scheduled the maintenance. First things first, the technician showed up over an hour late to our appointment. He then proceeded to tell me that the new drive I had purchased wouldn't work and that the drive I had initially bought was fine. When I explained that a TekHattan technician had suggested the second drive, this technician just shrugged and said "I didn't take your help desk request, so I don't know." The drive was taking a long time to copy and the technician ended up having to take the computer with him. He said he'd email me in the morning and that I could probably have the computer back by Thursday (this was Tuesday). He did not email me in the morning and it wasn't until I reached out on Thursday that I got any updates. Over the next few days I would reach out, asking for updates, but the company made no effort to keep me in the loop or communicate with me. When they finally dropped off my computer, they were again over an hour late from the time they had quoted me and it was a week after my initial appointment. When I did finally get my computer back, the technician informed me that the 2nd drive I had purchased (the one I had been told wouldn't work) was in fact the one they needed and that they had bought another one. Had they bothered to contact me, I could have informed them that I hadn't had a chance to return the drive yet, saving us all a lot of time and money. They didn't end up billing me for the repair (thankfully), but I was charged $150 for a drive that I already had. The computer is now crashing frequently. This company needs to work on its communication skills. I was deeply dissatisfied with the service I received. read more

What another great Yelp find. I bought a new computer about a year ago and went for the smaller 128gb SSD (solid state drive) thinking it would be enough. I was painfully wrong - even with all of my videos, pictures and music on an external drive, I only had 3gb of free space a couple of weeks ago. I reached out to some colleagues and no one had a good recommendation, so I went to Yelp and found Tekhattan. Alex and Lucas came over a few days later (they had to order a new drive, I think, so it couldn't be done same day). Within 90 minutes i had a 500gb SSD installed so now I have plenty of free space for all of my work and personal content. Not only that, but it was about the same price as dropping my computer off at a storefront establishment and waiting 24-48 hours to get it back. Excellent experience and will definitely call again if I have any issues. read more

After being brushed off by 3 other companies who wouldn't help me, Alex at TekHattan saved the day right before I jumped out the window because I couldn't figure out how to set up 2 routers in our office in order to accommodate our new phone system. He called me a few minutes after I submitted an inquiry online and was at my office in 20 minutes. 45 minutes later I had working phones. My only regret is wasting so much time trying to figure it out on my own. read more

My computer wouldn't turn on and I had one of their techs take a look. Yea he was nice, but he couldn't pinpoint what was wrong with it or how I could fix it. A very nonspecific response for $150. Only thing he did was check that my hard drive was working which I didn't even have data I cared for on it. Again, nice guy who tried to help me and Alex who took my initial call was very good, but for this price and to not get any diagnosis at all besides go buy a new laptop? read more

I had a great experience with these guys. I was in a real bind when out of the blue the computer stopped booting up. I had some deadlines waiting, and so I was pulling my hair. Decided to take a chance with this company. Although perhaps $155 for an on-site might seem to be a lot to some, I don't think its too much if it can really help the machine. As well, although Arron stayed about an hour and half, they only charged me for an hour. He then had to trudge my machine to their repair shop in Jersey, but he made no complaints at all about doing that, even considering that the machine weighs at least 35 pounds. As promised, they did get back to me very quickly that same day to let me know the results of their diagnosis of the machine. They discovered that there were some problems with several of the ports and that the best solution would be to replace the motherboard. Being that my motherboard was an older model they recommended that I get a new motherboard which would actually cost me a lot less than getting a exact replacement. As well it would allow me to upgrade. And so that is what I did. So, basically the job became not just a rebuild but actually a new machine build with some of my old components. For all this work including the diagnosis they only charged me one hour of bench time, on top of the on-site visit. And throughout the process they stayed in touch with me either with phone calls or emails, and allowed me to make the final decisions on purchases. Certainly, this was an unforeseen expense for me, but it's not one which I regret in any way as I see it being a purchase of an almost entirely new machine with some additional future proofing. As well they stayed on schedule and on time with all of their promised deliveries. So, all in all, great company, great service, and I will certainly keep there information handy for whenever I run into problems in the future. read more

Just used this company to fix a few issues with our computers, wifi, cloud based hard drive. Great service and the technician was super knowledgeable. Worked quickly and efficiently. Would highly recommend to any small to medium size business in Manhattan! read more
