They were very responsive! The first point of contact was a woman and she seemed to be knowledgeable. She asked for the issues, laptop model, and she got back to me with a quote pretty quickly. The repairer called me promptly to discuss the problem and explained to me the actual issues with my laptop. He gave me a few options and listened to my request. Mr. Wright is a thief! He took $150 (minus his advertised 10% discount) to fix my laptop. He promised that its guaranteed for 30 days. After 24 hours it started freezing up again. I called and was assured by the very nice woman who answered the phone that I could bring it back when I return from overseas. I called when I returned 10 days later and again the very nice lady assured me that Mr. Wright will fix it. I didn't get a return call for several days and when he finally called back he told me that since he gave it back in working order he will not honer his guarantee. I was using a computer to display a six projector video piece in a not-for-profit contemporary art gallery in Williamsburg, and 36 hours before my show was to open, my custom computer, shipped from Chicago, flat-lined. This was not a normal exhibition but one that also had a live performance component in the backyard courtyard. This is the best service - of any kind - I have experienced in a very long time. After being stood up by The Geek Squad THREE times with various excuses, I decided to try a local service, something I should have done the day my hard drive crashed. I called on Sunday, they picked up my hard drive that night, called me with an update on Monday, and dropped it back off on Tuesday. I did a quick phone consultation to see if this guy could recover photos and videos from a trip that I took recently overseas. The guy was EXTREMELY rude over the phone, because I am very knowledgeable of data recovery I asked him very direct,clear and simple questions "can I select the files that I want for myself as you pull them up with your software, can I bring my external drive for you to upload my files to." Apparently this is some guy who works out of his bedroom or something, which I would NEVER trust anyway, and he said that I wouldn't be able to watch him or view the software that he uses (sooo suspect).,.. If you have sensitive data on your computers and hard drives not sure why you would leave your things with some random creeper to tinker with for several days.
