Over the past 3 months I received 3 messages from Bill Ferguson, a sneaky recruiter who never signs his emails with a specific location but that I quickly traced to Fort Lauderdale. He also never addresses me with my name but goes for the easy option: cut and paste. Bill Ferguson does not seem to know the difference between job titles so he only sends me laundry lists of jobs that would require relocation and that are for the most part unrelated with what I do (90% of the time or more). I just came across another one of those recruiters I refuse to work with because they do not read before contacting: useless and wasteful. Avoid at all costs. Avoid like the plague.

After a lengthy application process, assessment testing and introductory video, I had a wonderful interview with my recruiter, Lisa G. She is positive, wonderful, attentive and truly goes above and beyond to place you. I was out interviewing within a week of our meeting and landed a temp-to perm position shortly thereafter. Wages are within the range I specified and my particular employer is a stable, long established company. They are great to work with! I am still within the temp-to-hire period but expect to have a permanent offer extended to me soon. There is no fee to the applicant to use AppleOne. Even if you are out "pounding the pavement" and applying for jobs directly, keep in mind that some employers just don't advertise all of their open positions. There are also some that have agencies handle all prospective employee screenings. It's worth a shot and truly helps to have someone else marketing your job experience, skills and talent. First, I was supposed to start working right before Christmas. They sent me on the assignment before my background check came back. The background check didn't come back until after New Years so I missed Christmas and New Year's with my family only to be stuck in a motel alone the middle of nowhere with multiple snow storms and no public transportation. Then, I was told other people from our company would be here as well so that I could reach out to them with any questions only to find out that no one else was. Then, housing is supposed to be paid for by the company, but the motel reached out to me multiple times saying that my rent hadn't been paid. The contract was in a very remote location with not much diversity which is fine, but it should've been communicated before hand. Fast forward, it is now Easter my contract is over and I'm still stuck in the area due to snow storms. This has been one of the worst experiences of my life. The whole thing feels like a money grab and I certainly won't be traveling with this company again. I'd rather pay for my own housing so that way at least I know it's actually paid.

I have a masters degree and plenty of professional work experience and have held desirable positions so clearly I thought I was a great match. I guess not. This place is unprofessional. When I called (on one of the several occasions) and asked to be connected with a specific person whom I was referred to, the person directing my call responded with "umm ya...ya...umm hold on". I wouldn't recommend this agency. They clearly don't value hiring anyone with professional experience or education and have zero followthrough.
