Robin and her staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and made me feel completely comfortable during my wig fitting. The store itself is bright, cheery, and meticulously kept. I was in need of a wig due to hair loss from chemotherapy. During my appointment Robin took her time and explain everything I needed to know about from how to put a wig on, to how to care for it, and answered any questions I had. I returned to the Ultimate Wig Center last week to treat my wig to a professional wash. Robin and her team had my wig ready to be picked up that same day. They store also have a great selection of caps to wear with or without your wig. Don't think of going anywhere else for your wig needs.

It was raining, and we had the furniture outside under cover, on our deck under the awning. One of the men took a quick look at the furniture and told us that they would not take it because it didn't look new. There was a small scratch on the table, hardly noticeable. Love Your Furniture Again Antiques is my favourite new curio shop. Located in the working class…read moresection of Staten Island's North Shore known as Stapleton - 638 Bay Street, very near the Stapleton Station train stop and not far from the Ferry - the price range is "From two dollars and up," according to the manager. They have great hours too - well suited for working people. Closed on Tuesdays, they are open 11 am to 8 pm on weekdays and from 11 to 6 on weekends. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and the items for sale are just terrific. If you want a true antique that is unique and in great shape you may pay a couple of hundred dollars but not thousands. This is not a thrift store and yet it is affordable. What caught my eye were the two very large animals in the window display. Prior to the store opening I shot a photo of the window display, focusing on one of the creatures - this image was a very popular item on flickr. My photo wound up in the "In Explore" group which is a highly sought after honour. I generally get from 200-300 hits on an image and 8-10 favourites - the window display from Love Your Furniture got over 5400 hits and 67 faves. What was the item? A large, pink, jewel encrusted, bird or mammal of some sort. When the store opened I ventured in to see what the creature was - it, and the jewel encrusted golden giraffe that graces the other side of the window display, was apparently part of a carousel at one time. This truly unique item and many more diminutive but equally interesting items await the visitor at this gem of a store. In addition to antiques the store features handmade items by Yana, one of the owners - one such item is a gorgeous decoupage end table. If you are on the Island to check out our great street art - and Stapleton is the epicenter of this activity - stop by Love Your Furniture Again Antiques. Customer service is lacking, didn't feel welcome in the slightest, no assistance offered (not ideal for small boutique shops aside from the fact we are mid pandemic and it's a 4 to 1 staff, customer ratio, guess everyone was busy), so disappointing on that end. On the flip side this is an urban clothing/sneaker store, depending on if you're into this kind of fashion you can find something. To put it mildly my synthetic hair units were a hot mess. I was ready to toss one out as I surmised it was a lost cause due to my own doing. Robin brought this wig back from the dead. She did a fabulous job for a fair cost. Needless to say I am thrilled. So impressed was I by her expertise and skill set reviving and styling my synthetic wigs that I decided to bring several of my longer hair units for washing and styling. She makes them look like new thus extending the life of my hair units. She is a consummate professional and clients are seen by appointment. They should advertise that you could not walk in the store without an appointment and they also knocked the American Cancer Society sayin they have 10 wigs to try on and then you leave.
