    Highly recommended 20lb lingcod
    Rebecca F.

What an awesome day on the water! Captain and deck hand awesome. Thank you Sean and River

My grandson with the lingcod he caught.

Such an amazing day!! Took my daughter and grandson, our first time ocean fishing. The captain and deck hands went above and beyond to make sure everyone on board had a great time. They were running the entire time helping everyone!!! We will definitely be booking again!!!!

Best crew and captain! They were so kind, patient (I forgot to sign up online and we misread the time we were supposed to be there ) and offered tips and were just so helpful and friendly. Super cool experience and a really good time. My first time fishing in the ocean did not disappoint!!

Great charter! The seas were too rough to catch fish, but the Telstar team filled limits of crab for everyone on the boat. I brought 5 scouts with me on the boat and the crew was great with the boys!

This was honestly the best charter I have ever been on! Not only did everyone on the boat catch lots of fish, but Captain Sean and his crew were more than what we could asked for! Don't waste your time looking elsewhere. These guys are the real deal, hilarious and just awesome! Great job you guys! My son will never forget this experience and we can't wait to be back!

Look at all of our salmon!

These guys are great! They really know what they are doing. Quite frankly, if you don't catch a fish, it's probably your fault. Work as a team with the rest of the people on the boat, help each other out and listen to what these guys tell you. We've gone out twice with them and had a ton of fun both times. We had to miss this year, but we will be back next summer. Make sure you tip the crew. They work their butts off!!

Super fun time fishing. Waters were a bit rough for a few of the family. Caught our limit and the fish has been delicious! Great family time

I let them know we could do Thursday or stay with Wednesday and was told they would get back to us early Tuesday. Well at 4:45pm on Tuesday we reached out and asked if we were on for Wednesday and was told it is a no go and they are still working on putting something together for Thursday. I get it Charters are in business to make money and just a few folks on an outing isn't profitable but to leave booked clients hanging until the 11th hour and not reach out to them is not good business. What gets me is we saw them leaving the harbor twice on Wednesday. We're assuming it was for Ash scattering based on the attire and somber faces of the passengers and the lack of visible fishing gear both times. Not a bad turn for them at $500-$600 per trip (if the rates I recall are still them same); less time, less work... Bottom line is they didn't have the courtesy to call/text us to let us know we should look for another charter, we had to reach out to find out... Too bad, we have quite a few buddies who love to fish and we'll continue to go with the charter that got us in last minute and put us on our limits...

We chose to stand on the outside deck of the train. It was a bit windy, I recommend bringing a jacket. The train ride to the Blair Bar was 20 minutes. Once we arrived the views were spectacular! It wasn't time for sunset just yet but once the sun started going down the lights became more vibrant. We immediately walked over to the bar to grab a drink. We ordered 2 old fashioneds and they were nicely poured with a good amount of whiskey. There was live music, and tons of seating around warmers and large fire pits. They offered s'mores kits and light snacks. The pits do get a bit crowded. We couldn't get a seat until the 9pm train left. Which opened up some spots around the fire pits. The whole experience was great. It made me feel like I was in a scene of Virgin River! Definitely recommend if you're ever visiting the Mendocino or Fort Bragg area of Northern California.

They are smooth, quiet and comfortable with full back support. Previous bikes had a tractor type seat with no back support. The new seats are firm so you might want to bring some padding. I talked with them about this and they were very receptive to me. Since they are electric with pedal assist, we decided to use the electric motor the entire distance. That way we focused on the experience 100% and it was delightful. A perfect, personalized lunch was provided, which added to the experience. Safety is top priority with them so with several road crossings, some with crossing arms/signals and some without, excellent care was taken to make the crossings safely. Our guide was Atlas and he was training 2 new employees. Everything went perfectly! All three of them were so kind and constantly wanted to attend to everyone's needs. I recommend you take the rail bike tour, sit back and enjoy the ride. Just imagine the amount of work that went into making the rail line over 100+ years ago. With the bikes, you sit just above the rails and can marvel at what it took to build this and any rail line. You will have a new appreciation for all railroads. You wind your way through the hills and I believe I read there is a section of the line that winds over 8 miles to actually travel a straight line of 1 mile. It is an engineering marvel. Enjoy!!!!! I attempted to make a reservation for the harbor tour with Captain Dan for my anniversary. Out of simple curiosity I asked if they ever do whale watching trips at other times of year, but was abruptly interrupted by the person shouting, "why doesn't anyone ever look at the website, we don't do that here!!" I was so taken aback that I apologized and hung up. The tour genuinely looks like it would be lovely and I was interested in what Captain Dan would be able to tell us about! Booking online was super easy, we were sent a confirmation email with a number to call to confirm our tour time. Since the availability of the tour in really dependent on the tide, we did call back a couple weeks ahead to confirm and pay for the tour. Kristin helped us though the process and made it really easy and painless. Captain Dan was super nice. I appreciate all the stories and knowledge he shared about the harbor, who does what in each boat, the surrounding properties, his time in Alaska, and more. Such great conversations. We got pretty lucky because there was a couple boats selling tuna and cleaning fish so there was a lot of sea lions and seals around waiting for fish. We were on an electric boat, so it was really quiet and didn't scare away the marine life and we were able to get up close. We got to see lots of beautiful birds, he had even told us which ones to watch because they dive down and catch fish. And we did see one catch a fish! It was so cool. Such an amazing experience we'd go again the next time we're out in the area. I definitely recommend!

Being a craft beer aficionado, and living in Sonoma County - arguably Craft Beer Mecca - no respectable beer server put a head on a beer unless it's requested (some people claim to have a preference for a head on their beer, for various reasons), but North Coast has a policy of doing just that. At least that's what the bartender told me. An imperial pint glass holds 20 oz. A 3/4" head on that beer brings your 20 oz beer down to about 17-18 oz. Not horrible, but not what I paid for. To their credit, when I took my beer back to the bar (it had been dropped at our table by our server) and asked that it be filled to the top, it was. And the next one was delivered correctly filled. That's all the "bad". The good: I had the fish & chips, and the Beer Battered fish was some of the very best I've ever had! Fries were cooked perfectly as well. The fish was so good I was tempted not to put any lemon OR malt vinegar on it for fear of ruining such perfect fish, but in the end I added both and it just amped up the greatness. Overall, it was one of the best fish & chips meals I've had, flavor-wise. Portion was GOOD on the fish, not great, and there were lots of fries. The slaw is about as lackluster as any I've ever had. Some malt vinegar helped it, but couldn't really revive the bland mix. It was the fish that made it, great fries also made it better, bad slaw took off a point. My friend's cod sandwich was said to have been excellent as well. The beer was good, but not Russian River Brewing Company good. The highlight of the visit was the service. The bartender seemed surprised that I'd ask her to fill the beer, but did so without complaining, and remembered to do so on the second one. Our server, Abigail, was friendly and very efficient and helpful. Pleasant folks, those we interacted with. Excellent Fish & chips, excellent Cod Sandwich, two large beers each and a $20 tip brought the lunch total up to $100.29. Not cheap by any means, but I was happy with the experience.

We have also recommended your establishment to many of our friends throughout the years that have also enjoyed visiting on occasion. Summarized visit: 1. We ordered fish/shrimp combo as usual. Shrimp as expected, cod way too "fishy tasting" as in poor quality or too old. Also cod batter seemed too thin. 2. Beer pour was too warm. Verified through staff that there was an issue with the refrigeration. I could tell by watching how much "head" the staff had to pour off, then by the taste. I can't stand brew not up to acceptable temp. We will give your place one more chance on our next visit, but standards must BE MAINTAINED!!!
