Captain Dan is great with kids !

What a great little boat tour- on a great little boat- the Noyo Star. It is clean, quiet, and comfortable. Captain Dan was terrific with our restless toddler as he told us about the Noyo River, area history, wildlife, and even a few restaurant recommendations. We departed at 4:30pm, which was dependent on the tide charts- so call ahead to determine what times are available. The ramp down to the dock is pretty steep- so folks with limited mobility may have problems. You certainly want to wear shoes with a good grip.

Five stars for Dan and his tour! A last minute call, while we ate lunch in Noyo Harbor, and Dan had us on the water within an hour or so. He was patient with my not so thrilled three year old, when we boarded. And explained fishing, boats, etc... as he drove us though the river and harbor. He made sure my daughter got to see many sea lions on our tour too! Lastly, the boat is immaculate and rather toasty with the windows up. It was very relaxing!

Had a great time touring the harbor with Captain Dan today. An excellent way to celebrate Mother's Day. Thank you Captain Dan for your patience as these two river novices asked many questions. You made us feel right at home.

I had a fantastic time with a friend on this scenic tour with Dan! It's a very relaxing and comfortable ride in Dan's brand new and very clean boat. I had no idea what to expect going into this experience, but was pleasantly surprised by Dan's friendliness and knowledge of the harbor and boat world! What a fantastic way to drink a glass of wine and enjoy the views! Thanks Dan!

They are smooth, quiet and comfortable with full back support. Previous bikes had a tractor type seat with no back support. The new seats are firm so you might want to bring some padding. I talked with them about this and they were very receptive to me. Since they are electric with pedal assist, we decided to use the electric motor the entire distance. That way we focused on the experience 100% and it was delightful. A perfect, personalized lunch was provided, which added to the experience. Safety is top priority with them so with several road crossings, some with crossing arms/signals and some without, excellent care was taken to make the crossings safely. Our guide was Atlas and he was training 2 new employees. Everything went perfectly! All three of them were so kind and constantly wanted to attend to everyone's needs. I recommend you take the rail bike tour, sit back and enjoy the ride. Just imagine the amount of work that went into making the rail line over 100+ years ago. With the bikes, you sit just above the rails and can marvel at what it took to build this and any rail line. You will have a new appreciation for all railroads. You wind your way through the hills and I believe I read there is a section of the line that winds over 8 miles to actually travel a straight line of 1 mile. It is an engineering marvel. Enjoy!!!!!

Going to the destination, it's better to stand in the open-air train car to see the trees and Pudding Creek. Stand closer to the speaker to hear the history. Once at the destination, everyone gets off for 45 minutes to use the bathroom, eat concessions or packed snacks, play giant jenga or cornhole, or hike past the bridge. On the way back, you should sit inside the train car and snack on buttery popcorn and local cider (alcoholic). The other option is the two-person bike. This is a one time and done for me. Maybe if you're a train lover, you would want to come back and do it again.

We had emphasized to our guests to be on time for their shuttle pick ups using the schedule provided to us by the company. One of the shuttles was EXTREMELY late for the pickups (between 30 and 45 minutes for some of them). They told the guests that the schedule didn't make sense to them and so they made their own schedule up. This led to a ton of confusion on the wedding day. Some of the guests had actually gotten into their cars to drive themselves because they didn't think anyone was coming by the time the shuttle showed up. One of our guests wanted to go home a little after 11 PM. A different (female) shuttle driver told him they only wanted to go back to his Airbnb one more time so our guest would have to wait until the rest of his party was ready to leave. He ended up waiting two hours later than he wanted. This is absolutely not what we had agreed. In our calls we had discussed multiple times that the shuttles would be running continuously from 10-2 AM to all destinations. All in all, the day was a complete mess from a transportation perspective and fell completely short of the services that we had agreed to and paid for. Before posting this review, I brought these events to the attention of the business owner who did not apologize for our experience and scapegoated his team.

Also, if you want to catch your own wild salmon, go make reservations to go fishing on The Fish Peddler's Charter, "Rumblefish." It is well worth the trip to go fishing here because up the street from the Fish Peddler is Perko's Restaurant and the Perko's Hotel located on the same property. So call Kevin or Michelle to book your reservations to go fishing on Rumblefish-$75.00 for half-day fishing (you can catch a lot of fish for a half-day O=:-D ) or if you do not have sea legs, just order your seafood of choice from the Fish Peddler. I am positive the Fish Peddler does aim to please all their customers, including my Mother!
