There are at least 20 food kiosks in the mall, offering a variety of options - Chinese, Korean, Thai, American fast food, Grandma's comfort food, smoothies and wraps, Japanese and sandwiches. You can get your hair cut here, get new eyeglasses or have a vision test, get a massage, book a trip abroad or exchange, shop for dorm room decor, study, go tanning, do your banking, meet with an accountant or seek therapy. I think you only thing you can't do here is drink, but there are plenty of places within walking distance of The Hub, like Hudson's on Campus and Earl's. The Hub rocks. Every university should follow suit.

It has more to offer than the Students Union Building too, with all the different kinds of cuisines and student services they have. Here's a list of what you can do here: -your stinking laundry (cause your momma ain't around) -get your shoes repaired -your banking -book a vacation (if the previous option was positive) -grab some breakfast, lunch, or late night snack (and get fat on Cookies by George) -buy a last minute birthday card -buy a new pair of eyeglasses -cram for that exam you've been in denial about -get a cheap haircut (but see my review for the Hot Razor before you really do) It's a really convenient place, whether you're a student or just passing through. It can get crazy busy around afternoon hours though, with high traffic on both sides of the long corridor. Do not, I repeat DO NOT stop in the middle of the traffic, as you will have a bunch of angry students with heavy textbooks piled up behind you. Simply move to the side, and do not look back until safe to do so. Also, it gets crazy hot in the summer because they have crappy air circulation. In fact, I don't believe they have AC ... so it gets pretty stuffy. That's when the frozen yogurt and ice cream they sell come in handy!

It is an interesting little collection of cell phone stores,family owned restaurants,grocery,and specialty stores. They are also the home of the best Tim Hortons in the city in my opinion. Even with the long line ups there is a generous sized dining room or a spaceous parking lot outside to sit on the hood of your car and sip your ice caps in warmer weather (excuse me while I reminisce about summer hang outs with my friends my first year of college). There is nothing for clothing in here so if your shopping for new outfits you will still have to make your way over to Millwoods Town Center. Also the taco bell has been out of business for awhile and I desperately wish someone would take over the space as the outside of the building is starting to look a little worn down. Strip malls are never usually life altering shopping experiences but I still think Main Street Shopping plaza can be a great stop for those who like to do their grocery shopping in a less crowded store or those wanting a unique place to grab a bite

Main Street is a shopping plaza that is right across from Millwoods Town Center. I'm not sure why…read moreit's called "Main Street" because there's nothing very "main" about the street it's on. Oh well. The plaza is mostly made up of local stores but also has many retail chains as well. There's a decent Chinese takeout restaurant (South Szechaun Pak Lok House), a skate & snowboarding store (Rumor), a couple beauty spas, a few family-owned restaurants, a good liquor store (Liquor Depot) and much more. There's also a BMO and HSBC, if you do need some banking done. The selection of store is actually quite diverse. Oh, and it has a Taco Bell. Cheap burritos for the win! I see a lot less Taco Bells in Canada than when I used to live in the US. If you're looking for more specialty stores you might want to come here instead of the Millwoods Town Center. Other than that, both offer the same experience, except Main Street Plaza is outdoors and slightly more diverse.

I also bought as a gift - Pocket Farmacy Physical Edition which offers five roll ons for stress reliever, tension, colds & coughs, upset stomach, and pain. Both products meet TSA requirements. Uniqlo in Canada doesn't accept US accounts if attempting to purchase items and scan barcodes via phone. I spotted a top on sale, tried it on, bought it immediately because the color and size were no longer available in the US. Ice Palace for hockey and skating. When we walked by, there were a group of youth having ice hockey lessons. There's amusement rides galore. Trouble ride caught my attention because it reminded me of playing board game in my younger years. Lively in colors and movement versatility, goes upside down, forward, backward and sideways, with upper and lower harness. Inner energy in me wanted to hop on; however, I would've suffered mean headaches or motion sickness afterwards so I stopped myself and just admired those that are able to enjoy thrill seeking rides. There were youngsters, adults and elderly surfing and catching man made waves realistically indoors for longer lengths of time. Developers of Wai Kai and Wet and Wild Water Park on O'ahu that set up short length wave rides...take notes. Mini golf looked very intriguing and fun! Shooting Range is available, upper level and tucked far away foot traffic. T&T Supermarket, a full scale Asian market. There's also K-Beauty and J-Beauty products. Casino is also available on the premises for those weighing their options on bets. It's not the largest mall in the world when comparing square footage to SM Mall of Asia in Metro Manila, Dubai Mall, and Iran Mall. My thoughts were that's it!

#200th Review! I…read morethought I had to do something special for my 200th review so why not review best spots in the City! I have lived close to Whyte Ave all of the time I have lived in Edmonton. Whyte Ave is one of the hottest destination spots in the City. It is host to some cool and unusual shops: Great restaurants and nightclubs/bars. Quirky shops. The Farmers Market, A great library in a historical building, Host to many great festivals and events, and so much more. Whyte Ave is also always evolving which makes it vibrant and fun. There are lots of great stores (some of which are pretty unique too!) and restaurants. It's a colourful place with an interesting crowd depending on what else is going on in the area. I've been here for parties, festivals, special events, theatre and more! It is quite popular with the university student crowd. That said, it's imperfect: some of what makes it awesome is also what causes issues: it's a pretty popular place with the late night crowd and can get very busy/crazy on occasion. Additionally, these events/festivals can cause trash and whatnot. It's busy enough that parking can be limited and transit from downtown is sometimes awkward. But it's a great destination to reach on foot. And there is reasonably good transit to this area. I definitely recommend a visit, particularly during the summer months.

There are numerous government offices in here as well. Located just off Jasper with direct LRT access - Central Line Station, this is a pretty decent place to grab a lunch downtown mid day. Don't expect to get a early supper here though, as most stores close at 4pm. I had come through off the LRT the other day at about 415PM and there was literally only 3 places left to get a quick bite and I wouldn't expect it to be fresh at that point either. Regardless, there's a lovely atrium seating area with plenty of natural light for a midday break. The basement level had a daycare centre, massage therapy, Alberta Tailoring, Travel With Us, Pollies Flowers, Triwest Realty, Plaza Food Mart, Lottery Shop, TELUS Training Centre, Energizer Health & Fitness, and Kelly Services. The Food Court had Second Cup, Booster Juice, Pasta Deli, Shanghai Express, Thai Chicken Place, Mt Fuji Teppanyake, Taco Time, Grandma Lee's, More Than Burgers & Fries, Crème Puff Bakery, and Marcello's.

Southgate isn't the kind of place I recommend visiting in December, but then again I don't…read morerecommend visiting any mall in December (not if you can help it). That being said if I'm gonna go to a traditional indoor shopping mall then Southgate is my top pick. It's mostly a convenience factor (I like Kingsway too, but I live closer to the south side). The mall is older, I think 25 or 30 years old, but they've don't a lot of renovations in the past 5 years so everything looks new and bright. Southgate has a nice amount of stores, not too many, and I can usually find what I'm looking for when I come here. There are some higher end stores like Michael Kors, and the Apple Store (well high end depending on what you by) to your run-of-the-mill Canadian mall standards like The Bay and Sears. There are also a few stores here that are great to go to because for me it means avoiding a trip to WEM or going downtown (I love downtown, but I don't love driving/parking downtown). So yes it's great I can buy my makeup at Sephora here instead of going to WEM or going to Evoolution (delicious artisan olive oils and vinegars) instead of having to go downtown or to St. Albert. One of my favourite things about Southgate is the food court. It's open, and can be a bit loud, but it's got a decent fast food selection from Koryo (Korean) to Opa (Greek). I also love how environmentally friendly Southgate is...they've got bins for recycling, trash, and they even have drains so you can pour out your beverage down the drain instead of dumping it in the trash. There's even a separate spot to put the utensils. The other high point of Southgate, as strange as it might seem are the washrooms by the food court (well the ladies at least, can't speak for the men's). Why? Because the washroom stalls are huge (seriously you could probably get 4 people in there), they have a heavy wooden door, and when the door is locked it goes from a green vacant to a red occupied. I wish all public bathrooms did that, instead of playing the knock-to-check-and-see-if-someone-is-in-the-bathroom-stall game. The bathroom stalls also have a a big purse ledge for you put your purse/bags on. And when you go to use the sinks after you're done there is a automatic paper towel dispenser in front of every sink. No waiting in line to dry your hands. Score. Regarding parking it can get busy here, but I usually find the parking lot is pretty decent, particularly if you go to the upper level there's usually always spots there (maybe not right before Christmas). Southgate is also on the LRT line (right after Century Park) so it's convenient if you take transit. Just know Southgate isn't park and ride, so if you park here and take the lrt you could get a ticket (yeah they check that). One thing that is a little weird about Southgate is the layout. It's a mall that was just designed a bit weird, but it's not a big mall and easy to figure out. It can get busy, but it doesn't have the insane crowds that WEM does. Southgate is definitely my go to mall in Edmonton.

Before the mall was renovated in 1992, it was very dark and gloomy, but now it's very bright and more modern-looking. The makeover didn't really benefit this mall that much. In fact, in became pretty lame. When Wal-Mart moved here, this brought in tons of traffic, and I would say it's what kept this mall alive. After Wal-Mart left, many great stores closed down, including the GAP. (I still can't forgive them for taking it away from me!) This mall was stagnant for quite some time, but over the past five years, this mall has been slowly improving once again. Some of the best stores are HMV, Sport Chek, Dollarama, Game City, Le Chateau, Payless. Winners, Army & Navy, Coles, Spasation, Shoppers Drug Mart, Purdy's, Save-on-Foods, and The Great Room Company. The Bay is here too, but it's probably the worst one (minimal selection) in the entire city. Oh, and I almost forgot--there's a Library here as well! The mall's food court is the best, since it has big screen TVs, a water wall, and all the fast-food favourites. There's Taco Time, New York Fries, Edo, Booster Juice, Arby's, Orange Julius, Opa!, A&W, and lots more. McDonald's and Second Cup are also in the mall. The customer service area, located in the centre of the mall, is a great place to come for a rest. There's many flat-screen TVs and large comfy chairs and couches. Londonderry Mall has always had a reputation of bringing in many famous people--usually it's something for the kids or a band for the teenagers. When I was a kid, and before the mall was renovated, I saw Richard Simmons! Woohoo. Lucky me. Five years ago, I would have given this mall a two-star rating for sure. Maybe now I am giving it four instead of three, since it's my neighbourhood mall (I'm probably slightly biased), but it has improved considerably. Londonderry Mall is no Kingsway, but it's still pretty awesome.
