I took my desktop computer in about 1 month ago. It was 4 plus years old and it had crashed…read more After several personal attempts to get it to start, I gave up. Took it into Memory Express Calgary NW about 1 month ago. Was told it would take two weeks or more to get it back to me. I received a call from the technician working on my machine within one week. He related the problem to me over the phone and that he was in the process of repairing the damages. That was a Friday, by Monday I picked up my computer and brought it home. Total time I was without my computer was just over 1 week. I have been using it for approximately 3 weeks with out a problem. It boots up faster than before and there have been no more ugly blue screens of death. My cost was below what I was expecting to pay. I can't say enough good things about my interface with Memory Express regarding the repair of my computer.

I went there for a broken inside screen for my Flip 6. It was a Sunday, and was told it should be…read morein by ruesday, most likely wednesday, so i paid half as was asked. Rhe next Saturday i called, and they said the wrong screen came in....im guessing they ordered the wrong screen, bu either way a call to update me would have been nice....so another week went by, and two to three days turned into two weeks, at which point i called them again, the following Saturday, and "ya that came in on Friday"....again no courtesy call. So i dripped my phone off, and was told it would be about an hour and a half maybe two hours, and theyd call me when it was done....three hours later, they were going to be closed soon, so i went back, and sure enough, it was done, and once again, no freakin courtesy call. These people do not give a crap about you, it is obvious. Two weeks later i was back due to the screen cover cracking right across the middle....ive had these things changed before elsewhere and it lasted the better part of two years....after that, it lasted another week and i just took it off, but thats the least of my concerns. Ever since they changed the screen, no one can hear me on speaker phone, and most times cant even hear me when not on speaker phone, on top of that, a few times a day, ill open the pho e, and the screen wont turn on, and sounds like im opening 100 year old book. These guys clearly dont take pride in what they do, they obviously dont care about customers, and it seems that they use very cheap products.....to say the absolute very least, im would not recommend them if you want anything done in reasonable time or quality, and dont expect a courtesy call for any thing at all. Just disappointing.

I have personally experienced two regrettable interactions with store personnel during the past 2 weeks which is 2 more than I have ever experienced in this store during the past 4 years. The most recent involved my attempt to exchange a container of Life Brand Skin Lotion. The container I purchased proved to be mostly water and very little lotion. Upon entering the store I approached an idle check-out clerk and informed her that I wished to exchange the faulty product with another of the same brand. Apparently the receipt was not in the Shoppers Drug Mart bag I presented the skin lotion in however the clerk told me to continue my shopping, select another container of skin lotion and she would exchange it when I checked out. While shopping, I was approached by another clerk who identified herself as Caitlin. Caitlin informed me that since I did not have the receipt, I would have to purchase a gift card upon which the store would transfer a credit for the faulty Life Brand product. She then proceeded to lecture me on the importance of retaining store receipts in a very condescending and surly manner. As a lawyer and Shoppers Drug Mart customer for over 35 years throughout Canada, I explained to Caitlin that text on the container of skin lotion very explicitly proclaimed "Full Money Back Guarantee" which requires payment in cash and not some gift card. Further, I informed Caitlin that I had not requested a refund but rather a simple exchange. I informed her that her proposal (which she snootily addressed as store policy) was unacceptable and that I wished a simple, straight-forward exchange of a faulty product with a useable one. She sheepishly explained that she would have to check with her manager. A few moments later the intractable Caitlin interrupted my shopping to inform me that her manager had approved my request and that I would receive a replacement container of skin lotion. Now, I ask, was all of this really necessary? A previous incident involved an overly perky cosmetics attendant by the name of Hannah who was also charged with the task of greeting each customer as they entered the store. Her chirpy, somewhat startling greeting from behind the cosmetics counter belied the insincerity behind her overly friendly and disingenuous attempt to mimic a WalMart greeter. I won't even get into her air-headed attempt to assist me with a pair of sunglasses. I think the store would best be served by supplying the use of a tablet computer which describes the store's product offerings in detail. I intend to contact the store's owner listed as G. M. Dunbar Pharmacy Inc. to arrange a meeting with neighborhood customers to see if the recent issues with poor customer service can be addressed and resolved. In the meantime, I recommend that you shop at another Shoppers Drug Mart store if you wish to avoid the aggravations of the type described above.

There were so many staff members and no one was willing to help. Had a run behind a lady to ask for help. And she was also not friendly. Based on that experience I would have given 1 star. However on an another occasion I went here for technical assistance as my iPhone had frozen while doing an update and I was scared all my data would be lost. However a lady there who was very professional and friendly helped me and was able to get my phone running and saved all my data. Based on that experience I would have given 5 stars. So giving overall 3 stars.

I purchased 4 desktop computers complete with monitor, keyboard and mouse. I am very novice at…read morecomputers but had been referred by a friend and thought I could trust them with advice and good used computers for my new business. NOT TRUE. Once I purchased the computers I hired an IT guy to configure them with the printer in the office etc. The IT guy said do you realize you paid more than brand new monitors cost and that the computers are at the end of their lifecycle. They were years older than I was told. I was also told they were getting all the computers ready and serviced. When my IT guy opened the covers, he found they had been well used by a large organization and were very old and could not be upgraded to the newest operating system Windows 11. Furthermore, each computer was full of hair, fuzz and dirt and some of the fans didn't work. I complained and Open Box Macleod allowed me to trade the monitors for a credit. One thing I used the credit for was to buy an expensive coffee grinder. The grinder did not work so I took it back to Open Box Macleod. They said they could only send it in for repair. Months went by and still no coffee grinder. I went to the store many times in person and they shrugged me off and would not refund me and refused to help. I spent about $4000 and if I had the time, I would stand in front of their horrible, dishonest, disreputable Open Box Macleod location and tell them all my story. Worst Place to buy anything. They cannot be trusted. I am literally ashamed I fell for this discount store.... it is far worse than buying from a new supplier.
