Ysabel found a place online nearby that was open. When we got there, the gate was closed so I asked her to call. The owner said to push the gate open and come in. We did. She was very gracious, took us into the packing room and I packed a box and she packed the other one. She had previously quoted a price for 10 pounds but the boxes weighed 13. She said not to worry. On top of that we were $3 short. (Who carry's cash anymore?). I said I could Venmo the difference for the actual weight and she wouldn't hear of it. Then she drove us on a tour of her ranch. A total wonderful experience! Oh, and the most delicious Medjool dates we have ever had!

This year, their stand is in the center section of the back lot just across from the Far West Funghi stand. They have a rotating selection of dried dates which are sold by the pound but you can certainly buy less than a pound quantities if you so choose. With the current shelter in place, no samples are given so you'll have to eyeball and ask the kind seller for his opinion in meeting your palate profile. It's certainly nice to have the variety of foods and especially produce throughout California at these markets. Kudos for still being there through these trying times!

The store is on the northeast corner of Jackson and Avenue 50. {If you don't want to have heart palpitations, come in from Calhoun Street going south and turn right on Avenue 50, and right into the lot on the corner of Jackson because the cars from the two two-lane roads hustling at that Stop Sign are enough to raise your blood pressure a lot.} We saw displays of the most beautiful produce inside the door. Plump oranges, zucchinis, broccoli, cucumbers and many other items show off their freshness and aroma. We found cucumbers, zucchini, carrots and the most fragrant strawberries ever. A bottle of Pico Pica hot sauce rounded out the purchase. Their food truck is parked on the southeast corner of their lot. @elowtitos @lgdesertstore We ordered two carne asada mulitas, a burrito, and loaded fries. Everything was delicious. The staff in the store as well as the food truck are so lovely. My husband was using a walker and everyone in the store was super helpful. We look forward to scooting over often now that we know about this wonderful group of people and the magnificent fruits and vegetables.

There is no one working the ticket booth in the front of the theater, so you have to go to the concession stand to purchase your ticket if you didn't do so already online. A large bucket of popcorn was $12.99. We chose to watch the movie in standard definition versus 3D or IMAX 3D (this theater offers it). The seats in this theater are pretty worn and are in desperate need of refurbishing. The seating is tight compared to the reclining seats at some newer theaters. Overall, this is a functioning theater and gets the job done.

Well this was my first time here and I was quite impressed. The way they have it played out, from fall to late spring, the market is held outdoors in a parking lot. As it starts to heat up as it does in the desert, the market is then moved inside to another location. I love how that whole concept. Farmers market tends to be outdoors which I love but when it's 115 out, it's better for everyone and all the produce to be indoors. Still have a market but working with the weather. There's plenty of parking right across the street which does have some covered spot as well as the lot that's right behind it. It says no pets but I've seen some walking around. Doesn't bother me as I have a little one. They do have an impressive selection of produces with many vendors. A lot of the same things but you get that pretty much at all farmers market. It's like a maze in a sense but very well organized. Only downfall, I love fresh flowers but there was only one vendor. Good for them as they'll be the main supplier but I do like to have options. Of course loads of fruit and berries which is great. A bakery vendor that has amazing baked good that morning. A bit pricey but really good. Just like pretty much all the market, you'll have your fresh fruit, produce straight from the farm, there's eggs, juices, homemade good, fresh baked items and so on. Going toward the back is where the food vendors are located. Grab some breakfast while you're shopping. They also have some tables set up for you to use. Also live music was happening. It's a pretty great one in my opinion and I'm glad to know about it.

It's a small farm --- only 50 trees --- but the love and attention to detail in the growing of dates was pretty inspiring for me.
