Since it's strawberry season, I was excited to pick up a pint, but I was a bit disappointed to find it was $6, and most of the strawberries I tried were sour not sweet. While I understand the effort to offer fresh, locally sourced produce, the prices feel a bit high, especially considering that this side of Indio is more lower-middle class. Don't waste your time unless you have it to waste! I have been to this business 4 times in the past week and each time left in disappointment... I have successfully patronized this business for years and never experience the disappointment as I have recently. Long lines are expected a peak shopping times, but recently it has taken longer than normal to buy produce; BUT worse is the lack of inventory, especially strawberries, today Sunday 3/33/26. Their sign out front says "picked daily". After listening to the woman selling their produce tell us all (waiting in line) today, that the fellow that picks the strawberries does not work on Sunday! Then just change your *%#!+ sign to say Picked Daily EXCEPT Sundays so we don't go out of our way to try and be customers!!! read more

This place is great for fresh vegetables and fruits. They do have some local providers of honey and bread as well. Rarely do I find the produce damaged or bad. My wife and I shop here regularly as the prices are better bang for buck compared to say Stater Bros across the street. read more

Mom and I come here now and then to buy produce, bread, dates, and other things as well. It isn't cheap but it's all fresh and wonderful! Worth the price. Oh my goodness, the strawberries!!! I am from an Orange County and typically go to Manzanero Farms to get the strawberries. We would drive from Huntington Beach to Brea or two Golden West for the strawberries because they were so good but now my sister from Huntington Beach drives to Indio because these strawberries are way too good to be true. They have other produce as well, carrots, heirloom, tomatoes, and various other veggies and fruits, but oh so strawberry delicious my favorite. a tip they taught me that really really works. Do not wash off your strawberries until you are ready to eat them. Just pop them in the fridge as is and when you're ready to eat a few that's when you rinse them. read more

Been coming here for years. Have had great produce almost always. This year the strawberries are better than ever. But what happened to the artichokes this year?!? They used to be right up there with the best from the central coast. This year they look nice, but there is almost no meat on the leaves, and there is no heart at all - just choke! Did they try a new kind ? Or perhaps the weather did something wrong at the wrong time. I do realize farmers are at the whim of mother nature, so perhaps I should give them the benefit of the doubt. But sadly, skip the artichokes this season. Or they might make pretty flowers when they blossom. read more

Great find! We were looking for a fresh fruit/veggie stand and this one came highly recommended. It's located on a corner of the lot, where the working farm sits behind it. You can't get fresher produce, unless you grow it (I won't). It's a small put plentiful stand. When we were there, there were quite a few people in line to checkout, but the line moves quickly. All the produce is set up on the counter, you grab what you need, and hop in line. They move quickly, which is a plus! We bought the strawberries - which were oh so sweet! We grabbed lots of veggies too, broccoli, kale, romaine and tomatoes. I'll definitely be back! read more

Madison Street Produce Farmers Market is a fruit & vegetable stand on the corner of Madison & Hwy 111. It's a stand only shack that sells fruits & vegetables from its own farm which is right in back. In fact, strawberries were ripening that day in the field behind the stand. They even sell local bread from The Baker's Wife, 1630 Hill Street, Thousand Palms, CA 92276. Because the Coachella Valley gets hot early in the year, it's possible to grow late spring & summer crops even as early as March or April. I bought sun ripened strawberries, even extra early tomatoes & white corn. Great to buy local produce since it is extra fresh. No trucks taking days to reach supermarkets for fruits & vegetables which were picked way before reaching the height of flavor to make sure they don't spoil before reaching Ralphs, Vons, Albertsons, etc. 4- Yelp stars for the opportunity to get just picked fruits & vegetables locally which is the best way to go, if possible. The young lady at the stand was friendly, helpful, & went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Open 7days/week 9am-5pm. Cash only like in the halcyon days of yore. read more
