This place is great for fresh vegetables and fruits. They do have some local providers of honey and bread as well. Rarely do I find the produce damaged or bad. My wife and I shop here regularly as the prices are better bang for buck compared to say Stater Bros across the street.

Mom and I come here now and then to buy produce, bread, dates, and other things as well. It isn't cheap but it's all fresh and wonderful! Worth the price. It's so nice that they have whatever is growing fresh right there at the time. It's right here in Indio on hwy111. You would think this hot desert would not grow such tasty produce! They have the best strawberries , so sweet!

Oh my goodness, the strawberries!!! I am from an Orange County and typically go to Manzanero Farms to get the strawberries. We would drive from Huntington Beach to Brea or two Golden West for the strawberries because they were so good but now my sister from Huntington Beach drives to Indio because these strawberries are way too good to be true. They have other produce as well, carrots, heirloom, tomatoes, and various other veggies and fruits, but oh so strawberry delicious my favorite. a tip they taught me that really really works. Do not wash off your strawberries until you are ready to eat them. Just pop them in the fridge as is and when you're ready to eat a few that's when you rinse them.

    Strawberry size!

The best produce! Fresh from the fields. Head of romaine was the size of a baby. Strawberries are so juicy you need to eat over the sink.

I had read about Temalpakh Farm and we have wanted to visit for a while…read more Today we drive out to the farm, which is just south of Augustine Casino on Van Buren. The physical farm is very beautiful with fruit trees everywhere. The market is clean and bright, full of items I would like to buy and also give as gifts from local farmers. I saw vegetables and handcrafted oils, soaps, native basketry, and the beautiful smoothie bar. I bought the most fragrant kale, plump green onions, russet potatoes, berry with ginger jam and a spicy hot sauce. The farm brings in products from other local businesses. The farm is easy to reach from Indio or Palm Desert. Having organic treasures like this is such a treat. Do check it out.

I know, I know, there's probably no chance that you're out this way, in the middle of the desert,…read moreon a native land site with nothing around. But if you are, Temalpakh Farm has extremely fresh, home grown produce and some other products produced by fellow Native Americans from the Western US. How did I get here? I went to Desert X 2025 (which I adore) and one of the art installations was on this site. Yes, they make you drive to weird and wonderful places for the biennial art scavenger hunt. The farm site has a new parking lot, an elevated outdoor seating area that is great for hosting company events or parties (as long as it is not in the hot summer months) and even a pond with a water fountain that might double as part of their irrigation system. When I was was there in May, some of the seasonal produce included heirloom tomatoes, squash blossoms, butter lettuce and artichokes. What could possibly be the best thing in the farmer's market is their smoothie stand. This being the palm desert, a majority of their freshly made smoothies have dates in them! Palm Tree Brew (coffee cold brew, unsweetened almond milk, banana, dates, mesquite powder, honey, date syrup, salt) - Okay, a coffee date shake is not for everyone, but if that's your thing, they make a great one. It's a perfect balance of everything, you can taste the coffee, the dates, the banana, the honey. All the ingredients were fresh, served smooth blended, nice and cold. A safer bet for most would be to stick with one of the other fruity date shakes here. Palm Tree is general date shake, Berri Crunch has mixed berries and dates, the Hulk has dates, spinach, kale, carrots, avocado, apple juice and pineapple juice, Green Feather has dates, banana, apple, avocado, kale, spinach and Farm's Dragon has dragon fruit, dates, pineapple, banana, chia/flaxseed and shredded coconut. This farm is under the same ownership group as the local Native American casino nearby. If you happen to be near the area, check out this farmer's market!

As a date lover, I had to try (and compare) it to that other famous place by Morongo and I will say that the Shield's date shake is thicker and more date-intense! They also had date ice cream which I will have to try the next time. I found the shop to be charming with lots of old school toys, jewelry, kitchen accessories and, of course, dates! There are many varieties sold here, including Mr. Shield's exclusive "blonde" and "brunette". There's date sugar, date crystals, syrup, jam, rubs, honey and pancake mix! I was tempted to go crazy! The theater is at the back of the shop and it is flat out old school charming. Alas, no air con. The history of this special place plays on a continuous loop and is about 15 minutes. Well worth it for the history and to appreciate how labor intensive date farming is! Fascinating. The items are all a bit pricey. There is a cash price and a credit card price on each item and everything is clearly marked. I don't mind supporting a family business and, anyway, they had me at, "date shake." Unfortunately, it was a hot June day, 110 degrees, so I didn't venture outside. If it's cooler next time, I'll definitely wander around... I will be back!
