On his very first day, the principal called, saying he was crying for his mom and needed to be picked up--something completely normal for a first day. Instead of helping him adjust, they suggested getting an aide right away, without a diagnosis. I feel like my daughter is learning a lot for her age (numbers, alphabet, days of the week, colors, etc.). They have a company that comes weekly that offers dance and fitness classes (for an additional fee), which my daughter loves. My daughter loves her teachers (Ms. Sonia and Ms. Sarah), who are so patient, nurturing, and kind. We also have to give a shout-out to her former teacher, Ms. Rocio. We only had her for a few months in the 2-year old room but she left a soft spot in our hearts. She helped our daughter transition into her new school so well and gave plenty of hugs, when needed. I appreciate how informed I feel as a parent- they are quick to let me know of any concerns, situations from the day, or funny stories to share. I also feel confident in the safety of my child with their check in/out procedures, passcode secure door, and checking IDs of grandparents or other adults picking up kids. They're also very accommodating of kids with special dietary needs, like my daughter being lactose-intolerant (thanks Ms. Martha!) A Truly Special Daycare - A Blessing for Our Family…read more Our two children (ages 2 and 4) have been attending Mrs. Kiza's daycare for some time now, and we can honestly say she has been a true blessing to our family. From the moment we met her, it was clear how deeply she cares for each child. Our son began with limited speech, and within just a few months under Mrs. Kiza's care and encouragement, he was speaking with confidence. Our daughter has flourished as well--family and friends are constantly amazed by her vocabulary and how expressive she is for her age. One of the biggest signs of how much our kids love being there? The daily struggle at pickup time! They never want to leave, often kicking and screaming because they've had such a great day. Even at home, they can't stop talking about Mrs. Kiza and their experiences at daycare. Before finding her, we had tried a larger daycare, but it was a completely different experience. Our son was often sick and didn't receive the attention he needed--he was just a number. With Mrs. Kiza, every child is loved and seen. She even checks in after hours or when the kids miss a day to make sure they're doing okay. That kind of care and thoughtfulness is rare. As a mom with high anxiety, it means the world to me to have someone I trust so completely. Mrs. Kiza puts my mind at ease every day. If your kids don't want to leave at pickup time, that's the best sign that something truly special is happening. She is a Godsend and loves our babies just like we do.

Perspective: My children were enrolled a total of 9 months. During which time COVID policy did not allow for parents to shadow or understand how a typical day is run through free play, instruction and curriculum. This policy had always upset me considering my oldest is 2 and youngest 5+ months during the time of enrollment. I will separate my personal opinion and a more constructive business oriented review to ensure as much transparency as possible. Personal Review: Specific to the general well being and care for my children, Mrs. Kiza treated my daughters with love respect. Business Review: For the first initial 3-4 months I did not worry about the health and safety of my children. However it was not until about the 4 month mark when things started to change. We were notified about my youngest daughter having sweaty palms - to which Mrs. Kiza inferred it is related to a heart condition and that we should have her checked by her pediatrician. In my opinion, this should never have been said let alone warranted. It's not like she is a doctor. Another setback seemed to be a repetitive theme of negativity when mom and dad were picking up children from school and Mrs. Kiza seemed to focus on bad behaviors rather then providing even some small wins throughout the day. It just seemed negative. We understand that the toddler stage is rough, and I'm not naive to think my kids are any different. However, small wins and positivity can go much further then focusing on the negatives. I was also highly discouraged when I discovered much older children were also present and parents were not given awareness or notified on the possibility of older and younger children being social with one another. My perspective for this is that 5-6grader (boys) should not be near a two year old or younger for that matter. We were told that the two co-horts were separated, however I will never know for certain. Lastly, and most importantly, for which I'm writing this review; ABC Learning is in breach of contract. At anytime, current parents while thinking they have childcare service secured, could be terminated at a moments notice. We were given 10 days notice that we were being asked to find alternative means of childcare. We asked if it was health related or behavioral and we were told that it was neither. Therefore, this was a PERSONAL decision made by Mrs. Kiza which affected my family, and as a result the need to write my review. I hope to bring awareness for the other families to consider since red flags like this is important to understand context especially when children are being displaced and impacted. Please consider this as an for example for potential families looking to explore childcare services provided by ABC Childcare.

The problem is the administration. Dr. Charity Hennings serves as Treasurer on the Board while also controlling student medical plans. That conflict of roles alone should concern every parent. When parents have asked for protocols, she has repeatedly refused to provide transparency. Instead of accountability, she deflects and blames parents when something goes wrong. She has received multiple raises while teachers and staff are stretched to the breaking point, forced to cover multiple departments and responsibilities just to keep the school operational. Educators are overworked, morale is strained, and leadership continues rewarding itself. When you bring concerns to the Board, you quickly learn there is no real oversight. Complaints are simply forwarded back to Dr. Hennings. The Board President does not independently investigate he redirects. Parents are then forced to deal directly with the very person they are filing concerns about. That is not governance. That is insulation. I have attended 6 of these meetings and they are no help. The attitude from administration is clear: if you don't like it, leave. That is not how a publicly funded charter school should operate. The health office is understaffed. There have been multiple student medical emergencies on campus that parents believe were minimized or quietly swept aside. Communication lacks transparency. When student safety is involved, silence is not leadership it is negligence. The promised new site lacks transparency and clarity. Questions go unanswered. Information is vague. Families are expected to simply trust without being given fact. Event the Temecula school district is questioning TVCS. Save your children, do not go here. I am pulling mine out.

This is for Pine Hills Academy. The teacher for the 5th…read moregrade math teacher is not very experienced. She is new to the field and it shows. She was not professional and the kids had a very difficult time learning in her classroom. She mainly put the children on computer programs and I know there were complaints so towards the end she did some teaching time in her classroom. The teacher would play favorites, telling the children "just because these kids are smarter than you, it doesn't make them better than you". This teacher would give her favorite student authority to choose who they thought was being "bad" or "good" and place them in categories to either receive a treat or if deemed "bad" by this student placed on the list to be reprimanded and have to do push ups in front of the class. The students who were chosen as "bad" were actually some of the nicer and well behaved students. The teacher repeated many times in front of the class that the chosen student had the power to make these decisions about the others. There was a game another teacher lead at recess for PE where the students all stood in a circle and were instructed to say if they liked the students next to them or not. If they didn't those students had to move. It got pretty detailed and started focusing on clothing and facial features such as "I do not like anyone with blue eyes". All of this was shocking to me and in retrospect I can now see why my child was so uncomfortable last year. In 2018 there was a turn over in principals. The new principal isn't experienced in dealing with difficult matters. I did go to the head of the school and had communicated what I thought wasn't working and she was very helpful. I was able to give it at least 2 stars are for the quality of children/families in this school. If it weren't for the great kids the rating would have been lower.

My son had an issue with repeating himself at times (ADHD and being currently evaluated to see if he is on the spectrum) and instead of engaging with him in a different way " you've already said that so is there any new information you would like to add?" He was cut off mid sentence more than once and chastised that he's already said that and to stop repeating himself. I was in person and saw this happen in front of me. I have been giving this school chance after chance, from kindergarten to 3rd grade we have been here and I feel I've wasted so much time and energy for myself and my son. Some of the staff are great and loving, but unfortunately the bad outweighs the good here.
