This is a great little discount theater that plays blockbuster films after they leave the bigger theaters. Ticket prices are about half of what you'd pay at a regular theater, and even less than that if you see matinee. Concessions are cheaper as well, but they're nothing crazy. They have pretty much everything you'd find at Regal or AMC. The employees seem to mostly be students, but that's okay because there's not much to the job, and besides some apathy, there's nothing to complain about. The auditoriums and bathrooms are usually mostly clean, and the sound and picture quality has never been lacking for me. I love that they also occasionally play cult classics. We are long time patrons of this theater. When it closed for refurbishment we were so disappointed. The excellent popcorn and inexpensive admission prices allowed us to take the entire family and really enjoy ourselves. It finally opened! We went and sadly ended up very disappointed. Maybe some of it can be attributed to growing pains. 0. Sounds and Screen / Video was good!! 1. When we walked in it was very quiet. I had to double check myself to ensure we were at the movie theater. 2. The Popcorn was COLD. No bueno. Popcorn is 1/2 the reason I go to the movies. 3. The theater was colder then outside! Mind you this is on a Friday evening when there was a large storm hitting our area and it was very cold outside. It was just as cold or colder inside. We notified a manager almost immediately, it got a little warmer/ less cold for a short period of time and then back to freezing. When we left and told the ushers they commented something like "it is always cold in there what is going on" 4. Seats are pretty nice. Compared to AMC I feel these seats were more on the generic side. No heat and only two adjustments. Also the seats sit flat on the floor with a little slope so when sitting it is hard to see the bottom of the screen. Other luxury and regular theaters I have attended do have the elevated stadium style seating which prevents this. 5. The price was on par with the other theaters or maybe it was a little more for the movie we selected. I really wanted to love this theater and return to the good ole days. ok so, went to see a movie with my friends. super clean, theater so nice, bathrooms good; but the drinks. literally could barely drink it. it tasted so bad and there so expensive. the guy took over 10 minutes to make it and i watched him. he poured it out of a can and put sweetener in it. not even an actual drink. i got there early as well. took everything out of me not to go up and complain since i spent almost 30 dollars for two drinks that i could make myself!!! read more

This will be our go-to theater from now on... recently, and fully renovated, clean, and with recliners throughout. In addition, the food was obviously on another level from the usual theater fare. I also enjoyed the smaller scale theaters which created a more intimate, more enjoyable experience, while still retaining the large screen experience. We've been disappointed with both of the other local cinemas for various reasons... the newer cinema at the Promenade doesn't have recliners for some reason, and the smaller theater off Ynez road has recliners (and heated ones at that), but the food options are unacceptable and it's just not terribly clean. read more

Loved this place. Good value, paid $3 for child matinee and adult $6 matinee tickets, even though the show was at 7:00. It was a weekday evening and the place was empty. Screen image quality was much better than I expected, much better than Regal Cinemas. Employees were really polite. I found this place when I was looking for a movie theater that played the Japanese anime film Belle. This place is small and they play older movies that may have stopped playing at places like regal cinemas. It was clean and the staff was nice enough. My only gripe was that I had to actually go to the location to speak to a staff member, I wanted to know if the anime film was in dubbed English or in Japanese. They did not have that online or on the automated telephone line. There was no option to speak to live person. I would still recommend this place. read more

Hands down the best place to get the best bang for your buck. My family of 4 gets in to see a movie with only $19 and we can buy popcorn and drinks for under $20. The theater is well maintained, it is nice to know that although you are paying significantly less than others theaters, the quality of the theater is not being compromised. They offer a full array pf food to order...pizza, nachos, micheladas, icees, candy, curly fries, chicken strips, etc. Super affordable, and great quality! The only down side is the movies this theater shows have been out for months before they come over to this theater. read more

They didn't think to download the movie before the screening of the goonies. Seems like this happens a lot as most people in the audience knew to exit and ask for a refund. Since we're out of town we ended up at the back of a refund line after waiting 45 minutes for a movie to start just to decide after an additional 20 minutes we didn't really care about $10. Spend full ticket price or stream your retro movie. Either way go somewhere else. read more

We rented out a theatre for a friends birthday celebration and it was so fun! They allowed us to come 15 minutes early. They played extras on the DVD we brought as we all got snacks and drinks. Inside the theatre was a table set out for us. They did up the electronic marquee on the front for us. We all loved it! Can't wait to rent out another theatre! read more

Four in our outing and a movie night here is much more affordable. You can't beat it: $4.50 movie ticket/person. $3/ticket for matinees I believe. Movies phasing out of movie theaters will be showing here. NO NEW RELEASES. If you're not in any hurry to catch a movie during the hype or view in stadium seats,then Temeku is a great spot for you. We like to visit in comfy clothes or pj-like attire and bring a blanket. Especially great for kids. Large popcorn and large drink ($12.50) covered 4 people comfortably during our movie. Overall outing for 4/came to $34. Restrooms were tidy and staff was very nice. Only downsides : kind of a random crowd here so expect kids/teens to be a bit more rambunctious, or at least when I've seen them unsupervised; arm rests do not move. read more

I haven't been here in quite some time but I use to take my kids here all of the time to watch older movies. My whole family can get in to see a movie for less than $20. Of course, we still end up spending a lot at the concession stand because my kids refuse to watch a movie without popcorn and whoppers I like that they have free flavorings for your popcorn and self service soda machines. Their seats don't recline but that's understandable since it is an older theater. The employees are very friendly and sociable. Love coming to this place it's awesome, but today we had to deal with guy name Ricky, at the ticket box that was not the most professional guy, my first time I see this kid and all I could say I wasn't really impressed with his attitude. This is the theater my friends and I refer to as the "El Cheapo". I actually wish they would rename it that. It's a second run movie theater which on occasion show classics of years past. 4 stars for the price, proximity to the mall and eateries, and also clean restrooms. Now it might take quite awhile for popular movies to make it to the Temeku. But, let me be completely honest. If it was not for the Temeku, I would not go see movies in a theater. First there is the expense of other theaters. There is no such thing as customer service at other theaters, and then people just have no manners anymore. Now, I am not saying that people suddenly have better manners at the Temeku. But... All the staff at the Temeku are engaging, accommodating, and will make inconsiderate people get off their phones during the movie. During the many, many times that I have been to the Temeku. I can only recall one incident were the Staff was not 100 percent the best. You will not break the bank taking the whole family, or treating some friends to a movie. The theater is not new and flashy, but the price makes the older theater seem state of the art. And it has all the flashy amenities and concessions. Another honest observation, you will pay more for snacks then tickets. But, you do not have too... I can not skip the popcorn and soda. But, if you are on a tight budget, just skip passed the concession stand. Oh, and there is a loyalty club. So, when you do buy tickets and snacks you build up points for free movies and snacks. read more

It's completely worth it especially if you didn't get a chance to see a flick when it was first released. It is an older theater and much smaller than these mega theaters they build now. They have one concession to fulfill your buttered popcorn needs and I believe six theaters. Discount theater - prices are good on everything. And as a Movie Pass person, their e-Ticketing is certainly helpful. My main grievance is their water bottle policy. Guys - come on. We never have issues with being our own container in to any of the other mainstream theaters. I hate wasting plastic. And the CUP SIZE for water is ridiculous. It doesn't even fit in the cup holder; it almost completely goes through the hole in the arm chair cup holder. Also, the theaters have a weird musty smell. read more

If you're in the mood for a movie and have some quarters around check it out. This movie theatre offers a more relax feel than the major big ones. Usually smaller crowds and plenty of seats. Seats don't recline and for the price you pay you still get great value. They also offer free popcorn seasoning which makes my experience so much better. I absolutely LOVE coming here to Temeku Cinemas! The staff is fantastic, helpful, accommodating, and super friendly. They even talk to the kids going to movies there, where at every other theater I've been to, 90% of the time the kids are completely ignored. Whomever is doing the employee training there gets huge kudos for making a very welcoming place! The snack bar is amazing! The popcorn is the freshest around, and not greasy tasting at all. Free popcorn spices are offered, which is a great touch because you have tyo pay for them everywhere else! They even offer hot coffee, even the coffee bar kind. But the best is that they offer select candies, such as Junior Mints, FROZEN!! AMAZING! lol The soda machines are the kind where you can get pretty much any kind of soda or mix that you want. My kids love this, and it really is nice to have options. As a theater I would give it 4 stars, because it could use some TLC. However, it is the PEOPLE that work there that push this over the top into the 5 star category. They should be really proud of their staff, they are wonderful! read more
