We had such a good time here listening to a live band on Friday night. Cover charge was only $5 to get in. Luckily we were able to get seats inside. They don't serve food here. There is a small dance area. My only issue was that the bathrooms are outside and seating inside is limited. read more

I had so much fun enjoying live blues and the warm sunshine on the patio. Although the music was inside, you can hear it perfectly from the patio. The wine was great and our party of 4 had a great time. Service was also wonderful. I love to day drink as opposed to late night drink, so I loved that all the fun was happening early in the day. --Last Saturday afternoon I discovered the Old Town Blues Club (OTBC), and what a great find it was! Located at 28636 Old Town Front St, in Temecula, California on the second floor overlooking the main drag, the venue is quite the gem. Hosting some of the greatest Blues talent from all over the country, OTBC is a great venue to see some great talent at a fraction of the cost of most other clubs in Southern California. For a mere $5.00 I enjoyed the likes of Chicago Blues legend "Stoney B. Blues" and his band, as they rocked the joint with original and well-known Blues hits, and Stoney "You can't hold a great bluesman down" is quite the showman, entertainer, and musician. OTBC is located on the second floor offers outdoor seating so you can groove to the music while eyeballing the people strolling the streets, or indoor seating that is up close and personal for viewing the performers. Seating is the form of standard tables, and high tables to insure all can view the performances. The bar has a reasonable selection of wine and craft beers at reasonable prices; and offers a charcuterie box for $15.00 to enjoy during the show. The owner is very cordial, and his staff are very customer service oriented. My impression of the club is five stars based on the time of day, and the day's experience. I cannot speak for the late night performances; which I hear are a wilder than the matinee concerts. Great time, and plan to frequent this club on a regular basis. The inside of the place is cool looking. The doorman were rude. The owner was very rude but the band that was there called clearly dirty. It was amazing. They were not accommodating. I felt very uncomfortable. I would only go back if that same band was playing again and that would be the only reason. I did not see that they had any food there and the bathrooms are outside. read more

We've played a few shows here and I genuinely respect what the owner is trying to build. He's passionate, welcoming, and clearly cares about keeping live music alive in Old Town, which deserves credit. The room has potential and the intentions are in the right place. That said, the biggest issue is the sound. Unfortunately, whoever is currently handling audio does not seem to have a strong grasp on live sound fundamentals, and it consistently takes away from the performances. Levels are often unbalanced, mixes are muddy, and it makes it difficult for both the audience and the artists to fully enjoy the music. This could be a great spot for live music with the right sound tech in place. A change there would make a massive difference and elevate the entire experience for everyone involved. I truly hope the owner continues pushing forward and considers investing in stronger audio support, because the venue itself deserves it. read more

Music, dancing, drinks (no food). Old Town Temecula is charming and bustling. I chose this place because it has Blues in it's name and I the blues ~ music. After visiting a nearby winery, we got to OTBC just when the band, Lil A & the Allnighters, was starting their first set. The band was terrific! Since we got there early, the place was not very busy and there was plenty of room to dance. We spoke with the manager who said that they mainly promote music. YAY! The cover was only $5 per person! I wish this bar music venue was nearer to our home. Clean place, friendly folks, cool paintings of great musicians. We had a beer and a couple of shots. Prices were not bad. They just recently acquired their liquor license. When we left, we walked around Old Town, checking out the plethora of shops and restaurants. We will definitely return for more music & fun. read more

Great music, need cash to pay for entrance, it's affordable and terrific bands. There's a website, check out the bands that are playing. They are open during the week too. Restrooms are outside and you'll need to ask fire a code but the place is on the strip and so many places to walk in and get a drink. Great vibes read more

Such a wonderful, intimate venue. I love the live band karaoke that happens the first Thursday of every month. Make sure to get there early if you want to sign up! It's a $5 cover. VERY reasonable in my opinion! This place is beer and wine only, but I saw that they were applying for their liquor license. I loved the decor in the lace with the paintings! Be advised that the bathroom is down the hall and needs the code. The bouncer knows it and there is a little sign that has the code on it as well. read more

Great music and service. This venue would be a 5/5 if they could make the walls into sliding doors so the band was center and space was all around them for tables and dancing. However, the speakers outside are just as good as being inside, if not better. read more

Came down to see Chris Cain. A great Blues musician! The place is a great venue for live music. But there's no food service. And you can't bring outside food in. So I recommend the Swing Inn Cafe, which is down the street at the end of the block. Can read my review on the cafe. There are other other places to eat within walking distance. There's street parking and a parking structure about a block away. They have a good choice of beers and wines to drink. There's an outdoor patio seating area and TV monitors. 4 stars because of no food service and the bathroom is literally out side the place and a good walk away, but within the same complex. Met the owner and he seems like a good person. Support local small businesses like this one and the surrounding community. read more

It has taken me a long time to try this place. The previous club at this location was always jammed with nowhere to sit, and the postage stamp size dance floor was usually jammed. Last week on a Sunday afternoon we gave it a try. There was a good blues band playing, it wasn't crowded and we had no problem getting a table. The tables are pushed up towards the front of the stage and the dance floor is behind the tables, a bit unusual, but I imagine it keeps people from standing in front of the stage when there is a dance floor there. The bartender was very nice and poured us some very big glasses of wine. Overall, it was a great experience. I am not sure if the experience for an evening show miight be different . I plan to find out. read more

Went last evening and saw "John Demps and the Full Effect" and had a few drinks. Celebrating our friend Dean's birthday after dinner at the Gambling Cowboy. I would give a better review if my group had been allowed in. The bouncer told us they were shutting down at 10:15. We asked for a suggestion of where to go. He refused to answer us. My cousin pointed out that Google says that this establishment is open until 11:00 and it should be fixed if that is not true. He said "well we are shutting down" and walked away. I asked again for a recommendation of where else to go that was open, and he would not acknowledge me. Could be great but I would never know. The bouncer is a jerk and was super rude to my group. read more

Great place to hang out - have a cigar and people watch! The bands here are generally very good and some are great! Beer and wine only and best after sunset on the balcony as it's facing west but other than that it's pretty damn good! Great for Friday and Saturday night Now with the new extended outdoor patio and the updated interior and stage it's the best outdoor people watching spot in old town!! read more

Went last night to see our favorite local band. The room is packed and creates a serious fire hazard. Sound guy kept tweaking the music and it was sounding bad. The staff were rude and had customers standing waiting in line for drinks as the workers all took shots. I could see lots of regulars in this place. This just isn't my vibe. I would much rather have a little breathing room and customer service. If it weren't for my favorite band I would not have gone. read more

I love this place and it should get 5 starts but... music is SO loud that I barely can stand the music volume while seating on the front patio!! I'm serious, I don't know how people can actually listen to the music inside that venue.... But...That being said... we need way more places like the Old town blues club. This place features great musicians/bands, quality music, a large beer and wine selection and...there is no cover charge for music (yeah ok a beer is $8 but hey you want quality live music or... ?) Highly recommended if you pass by Temecula. Make sure you stop if you hear some notes (and you'll hear them, even inside your car). read more

My adult daughter and I were enjoying a mother/daughter day in Downtown Temecula. We stopped into the Old Town Blues Club to listen to great music and have a glass of wine. While there were a lot of people there, it wasn't packed, so we were able to sit on the balcony, enjoy the music, sunshine, incredible wine and each other's company. Came here for some fun on Saturday. It was super busy. Weren't able to order food. I was able to get 2 drinks. One with cash at the beginning of the night. The 2 one I put on my card. Margarita for 12$ not very strong. We left early will come back when it's not so busy. Had an issue with my charges but Peter was great and helped out. Hopefully it doesn't happen again. read more

This place is about music. Went in for a glass of wine on Friday 10/14. Don't know the two bands names. Band 1 - blues trio, think ZZ Top or SRV. They only had time to play six or so songs. They opened up with Statesboro Blues by Blind Willie Mctell, and ended with Crossroads by Robert Johnson. But they were channeling Duane Allman and Cream. Very nice. The second band. Rhythm soul, big ass organ/piano, cool rhythm section, and the lead singer, well, he brings it. My bad for not getting the bands names. read more

Never met a more rude owner than the owner of old town blues. Had some friends in the place and my wife and I went to go say hi. Left my wife with the bouncer as there was a five dollar cover for karaoke of all things. I just wanted to get in touch with my friends versus texting which they might not see, the owner came at me like I was trying to rob the place because I did not pay the entrance fee. We had a venue that we were going to in 30 minutes so there was no way I was going to pay a cover for 30 minutes of entertainment But would've been willing to buy a cocktail for us and my friends. After almost physically getting accosted by this owner, my wife just took off and grabbed a cocktail at 1909. Much better place anyways. read more

I guess this place was fun. Very empty the weekend night that we went I believe was a Saturday night. The band was good. A bit corny, but very good at their musical instruments and bringing back the Classics. Beverages are fair selection I asked for my IPA and they were out. They're going to get you at the door which I understand which helps pay for the band. Overall, I give it a four stars not too shabby more of a local hang out for those who can drink a six pack, get in their car and drive away. read more

If you have a special night out, are visiting Temecula or are in search of a classier establishment in Temecula for your night out - Pick the Old Town Blues Club. If "classy" is your key word - Thank me later! This club has a slightly more exclusive feel without the velvet rope snobbery. It's not about the beautiful people. It's ALL about those who really, really love music. I don't know what's happening in Old Town, but it used to be a place where you could go for fantastic restaurants, great live music and a fun night of dancing and people-watching. All that changed when every place started going to DJ music. It's now becoming known for bar fights and the police having to be on every corner. However, this owner provides an alternative to THAT scene. He truly LOVES his community, the local music scene and puts live music at the forefront of his establishment. He treats the bands well, invests in great sound equipment and is working on perfecting the experience for both musicians and guests. From the lighting, the neon sign which tells you that you're in a real deal blues club, to the artwork on the walls...It's all about the experience here. Other local venue owners should take note. The staff is phenomenal (Dylan, Dave, Mike, McKeevin...and those whose names I haven't learned yet - They're all great!). Reading some reviews, apparently this upsets people looking to get drunk, obnoxious and crazy because the staff keeps the room in check and asks for dancing to be away from the front of the stage area so as not to block the view of other guests, not to make a mess dancing with drinks in their hand, pick fights, pester the musicians unnecessarily, and other pretty common sense stuff. Then again, I guess common sense isn't so common these days. If you're looking to get mind-blowingly drunk and crazy, this might not be your place. It's ALL about the music here and there's a wide variety to choose from for different nights - Blues, rock, originals and covers. The music runs the gamut and there's something for everyone (No guys, even The House of Blues doesn't even play blues every night). If your idea of a great night is dinner in Old Town then walking over for some killer music, sipping some vino either in an intimate blues bar setting or people-watching from the deck overlooking the main drag of Temecula - It's the place to be! It's the place where the locals love to hang and always full of off-duty musicians supporting their brethren. For us, it's the #1 spot for live music in Temecula. read more

We are also a restaurant featuring top notch BBQ and served on the best outdoor patio in Old Town Temecula. History

Established in 2015.

The owners of the Lucky Stone purchased the existing Front Street Union, which had a life span of about 5 years. It had the same focus of beer, wine and live music, but the new owners have since converted the character and ambiance to reflect a quality pub location. You would have to go back about 10 years or so when the location was simply a wine tasting bar.

Meet the Business Owner: Andy D.

Having spent nearly 40 years in the Building Materials industry and the last 20 or so years in senior management, Andy decided to make the change. Call it a mid-life crisis if you like, as some guys buy Porsches, well, Andy bought a bar and moved his man-cave from his garage to Old Town Temecula. He aspires to expand his musical horizons and also to enjoy music vicariously through the talent that comes through his bar.

The bartenders seemed to be friendly and there was a waitress. I was very taken aback by the waitresses uniform. It did not seem appropriate for her body type or the feel of the place. I feel awful to say that but it was very uncomfortable to see that. Country wasn't really played but I don't mind that it made it more fun. Overall doesn't seem like a country bar but might return to check it out on a different night. Maybe it was just an off night.

Instead of trying to fix the situation, staff asked if we wanted boxes while we were still sitting there clearly unhappy and barely served. The final straw was my father-in-law saying, "I'll just eat my burger, I'm starving." The manager brought it out already boxed and bagged. He had specifically requested no lettuce. When he mentioned it, she confidently replied, "Sir, that burger doesn't even come with lettuce." We opened the bun. Full lettuce. The expression on her face said it all. No accountability, poor service, cold food, and a completely disappointing Mother's Day experience. Needless to say, we won't be back.
