Grabbed some andouille sausage to do a quick smoke on for a snack while smoking some beef ribs, and boy howdy, do they make a tasty andouille! Nice and spicy, good crisp casing, moist, and full of flavor. Steaks looked good too, but didn't grab any of that this time. I will be back for those soon though. read more

My husband had came here a few weeks back and highly recommended this place so I came in today to purchase beef round eye thin sliced same thing he had purchased for phó a few weeks back. I had asked for 3lbs of it. Then one the butcher proceeded to say he's not sure if he can get it thin since it's not frozen. I told him that my husband came here before and recommended this place and never had an issue with the meat being thin sliced. Mind you I been making phó for 7 years and I have NEVER heard that meat needed to be frozen to get it thin sliced. So then asked me if I wanted 2lbs I said no 3lbs. At this time he leaves the meat on the slicer and another customer comes in and he asked for some meat he was in and out almost instantly. So I proceeded to explore around the store while I wait . There was 3 gentleman working. 10 minutes pass by and I noticed 2 of them are watching videos laughing for about 7 minutes . I then start to wonder what's going on as no one bothered to acknowledge me or let me know what's going on. When they noticed I was waiting watching them for some time they leave and move towards where I can no longer see them while one other gentleman was washing dishes still no one telling me what's going on so 15 minutes into waiting I decided to finally leave as I felt that their customer service was garbage. Needless to say I wouldn't recommend this place at all. read more

If you're a hunter and you're looking to bring back meat to your family, you come here. If you want rabbit, buffalo, venison, or elk. You can come here and pick it up....know trudging through the mountains, wearing ghastly camo, or needing to personally take the life of an innocent animal required. The only skill required is an ability to defrost. Now if you want beef, they have that in spades and more fresh. There are all types of cuts, so you might want to research what you want before coming here---so you don't look like a goob like me. I go here if I want to go to a real butcher shop. That's what this place is. Yeah, they sell a few other things, but this is a full blown butcher shop. We're talking of the old school variety. Some of the meat served here is from eastern Oregon ranch, Painted Hills Ranch. This ranch is known for raising natural beef and treating animals as humanely as possible (this compared to the huge, mechanized, and gross feedlots many places use to source their beef). The prices might be a little higher here, but it's worth it. read more

This is the only place to buy meat in town. Once you buy from here you will never want to buy anywhere else. They have all the meat/meal accessories you could ever want from chili mixes to rubs to side dishes and salad dressings. Their monthly packages are a great value and I highly recommend them for families. My only "complaint" is that I can't find the variety of meat I'd like to sometimes. I like lamb quite a lot, so I have to buy that at Yoke's. Also, it would be nice to see duck there in some form. But that's a small snag and no reason to give it any less than five stars. read more

I've been in here a few times and my wife has bought a couple of briskets for me to smoke. I do like their selection of spices and sauces, I'll probably go in and try some of those. I do some catering on the side from time to time and I smoke a lot of ribs, pork butt, brisket, etc. And I came in hoping to meet someone who was knowledgeable and informative to talk to. I am picky about the meat that I serve and I want to have a relationship with a local butcher, rather than the big box stores I purchase from now. I realize that I will have to pay a little more than those box stores, but what's the value of service? Apparently I'm in the minority from reading the other reviews, the person I talked to didn't seem to know a lot about meat, and didn't bother to find someone who could speak on my level. I was very disappointed, after hearing decent things about the store, I was hopeful to nail down a great supplier. I guess I'll just have to keep looking. The prices on brisket and spare ribs are very high. I would almost pay that if the service was there. But it's not, so I won't. read more

I know I'm risking being murdered here by saying I'm not a fan of meat.. but here goes. Not a fan of meat! But my dogs are! For anyone who cares about their dog's health, or feeds raw, there's some wonderful bags of finely chopped up stuff in the freezers. Combination of organs/bones/meat that's great for a meal, supplemental feeding or a treat. NOWHERE else in town has something like this and I appreciate it very much. I almost hate to post about it and give away the secret, in fear that these bags are gonna start being hard to come by. Dogs aside, the meat here is always very fresh, good, and the store is clean. It was Father's Day and I wanted to get some nice steaks. I went here in an effort to support local businesses. I asked for a bone-in and two New York's. So the one steak they had on display was maybe an inch/inch and half. So when he told me all three steaks had to be cut. I assumed that's what I was going to get. So I guess it's my fault for not clarifying how big I'd like the steaks. Here's where I think things get a little shady. I'm watching them discussing with each other how to cut the steak. So I leave the counter and walk around to see what else they had. As soon as I get back all the steaks are wrapped, in a bag, and at the cash register. I was like ok great. Let's get this home and ready to cook. That's when the guy rang up my three steaks for almost $100! $97 to be exact. I was so shocked and in efforts not to make a scene. I just payed. When I got home and unwrapped the steaks. I noticed they had cut well over two inch steaks for all of them. The bone in had so much fat left on and you could see the meat had actually been trimmed off on the sides. I was so incredibly disappointed and upset. Is the meat good? Not for $100. You're better off buying choice grade meat from- Albertsons, Fred Meyers, Yokes, and Red Apple. I bought a $13 New York from Fred Meyers that was hands down better than this butcher shop's meat. read more

As far as meat markets go, I'm not very impressed with this one. I've been a few times, service/employees were not very friendly. There Is no order to the store and others will easily jump in front of you in line. Prices seem high compared to other meat shops in the area. I also question some of their sanitary practices. I came here today for first time ever buying a bulk package of meat. I was asking a million questions and the people helping me were so friendly and would even go back to the back to show me what I was buying. The lady was very knowledgeable and friendly and willing to work with me on the box special that I was purchasing. They told me to give them a day to get my items ready and called me a few hours later saying it was actually ready. I went to pick up my heavy glorious box of meat and they even took it out to my car for me. All the meat was labeled and packaged exactly as I had specified for it to be packaged. I personally love this place. I'm not sure how well they compare to the other markets in the area but I've always been impressed with how great the people are while we are in there. They are happy to answer any silly questions you have about the meat and will gladly offer cooking advice. They also have a large selection of sauces and other bar-b-que accessories. This is a great place to go before having the first big cookout of the summer. The meat from this market is fantastic and after getting a few things from here I can't get meat at any grocery store anymore. The flavors are intense and the meat is top notch. The customer service from ZACH was the most horrendous experience I and other waiting customers had to endure. I arrived around 11:30am and left around 12:30pm on Tuesday Nov, 2020. Alex greeted me with the usual how can I help you? I started my order and let him know that I had a large order to be fulfilled. As he worked he was asking ZACH questions who was already agitated, and caused anxiety to build in Alex. As minutes passed Alex grew more overwhelmed while Zak started to walk around so fast that he appeared to be on drugs. Customers were coming in and both guys became more anxious. Eventually Alex asked me how much more I was going to order, so I told him again, a lot. I explained I wanted several seafood, chicken, and several red meat selections. He wanted to know if I had a list, I did, I was reading from it, however this only caused more angst for him, because the glass meat display was low on cut product. Alex explained to me that to debone chicken would take him at least an hour. I accepted that timing and asked him if I should come back in a while to get it. He said I couldn't because he can't leave the currently wrapped part of my order out so I would have to wait. I agreed because it was okay, I wasn't in a hurry, however he suggested I order boned chicken to complete that part of my order, I agreed. He decided to have ZACH help me while Alex attended to the other customers who have entered for service. ZACH came over and asked me what the remainder of my order was for meat. I placed the order, and his rage began. He started by slamming the freezer door after retrieving meat that needed to be cut to fulfill my order, threw the meat on the cutting table, while carving he was throwing the meat slices from the knife cut into the air across the cutting area to the wrapping area in the back. He continued his childish tantrum, slamming the meat carvings onto the cutting table increasing the force of his throw with each cut. When he needed more meat, he slammed the freezer door again and vibrated the wall so hard that items fell off the wall to the floor. It was obvious to me and other waiting customers that he was angry at the work he needed to perform to complete my request. The anger, angst was so unhinged that he could not maintain any emotional control. One of your customers was standing beside me asked what the problem was as she observed the same thing. I explained that I think he is angry that he has to cut any meat and angry he was being observed as he began to tear at the meat on the cutting table when his knife could not cut it deep enough. I come to your business often enough to know that this guy exhibits the WRONG attitude for a business. I paid for my order and went home only to discover my order was incomplete. I called, spoke to Alex who said he was aware and that he has put it back in the freezer waiting for me to return and pick it up. I retrieved this part of my order and paid for it. My overall experience is the worst I have had to date. read more

Nicest people here! Not to mention it is a great place to buy meat...a bit more expensive than the grocery stores but worth it. I researched their suppliers and by shopping here you can greatly reduce any worry about nasty stuff reaching you via the food chain. The only thing that kept me from rating Templeman's as five stars is I wish there were more cuts available for walk-ins but I am sure if I called in a special order it would be done just the way I like it. I am thinking that if it were a bigger facility they would have a bigger variety of cuts but maybe being smaller is why they do things so well. In any case, we will certainly be back! read more
