They try to make you feel better about their ridiculous policy by saying they have a restaurant and snack bar on site. The snack bar offered a lot of fried foods without many healthy options for parents and/or players. We are already paying so much for the players to play, and tournament fees to not be allowed to bring outside food in. The staff was taking food away from the girls and making them throw it away, leave it unattended on a table, or put it back in their car. The facility itself is ok but it is loud in there with so many teams playing. Parking lot fills up quickly so best get there early if you want to park within a 1/4 of a mile of the place. There are a lot of eateries nearby so you can leave to get food in between games but good luck getting a spot to park when you return.

Kinetic is a great local dance studio with both adult and kid classes. The adult classes were…read moreactually adults and not just me and a bunch of teens which was great. I've been a ballroom dancer for years and have done zumba and pole before. The classes here were a real workout and did teach me a lot of technique. Unfortunately my schedule is such that I just couldn't commit to the way they do their program. After trying three classes for $30, I was then shown the package/price options and honestly? Really reasonably priced for what you get and I would have paid in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, they just don't have enough later classes. They also force you to do either ballet or jazz. I wasn't feeling either of those but really liked their hip hop class and LOVED their contemporary class. Their program is structured around two classes a week with a set schedule(one elective and one standard) by season where as my ballroom schedule changes monthly so I couldn't block off two nights on the days my work schedule allows me to do something after work (and a lot of their options start at 4 and I work til 4:30). It's a total bummer but if you don't have any other conflicting commitments, this really is a fabulous studio. Would totally enroll a kid here as well. I was treated kindly and the teachers were great. If I'm able to go back in the future, I'd definitely consider it.

My buddy and I booked a session in the slow pitch batting cage for $35 which is a fair price for…read morethe time. You have to have at least two people because someone has to operate the pitching machine. The machine was a bit iffy for slow pitch, it was hard to get the proper arc that is required. Eventually we ended up pitching to each other and standing behind the protective screen which was fine. We went on a weekday and it was a bit slow so they let us go a few minutes over since there was no reservation behind us. Shawn the owner was super nice and helpful and the facility looks great. They offer all kinds of options for teams and youth groups so if you have kids interested in sports you should definitely check them out. The only drawback is the lack of parking. There is street parking but be careful of parking in someone else's lot because they will have you towed. Other than that, this is a great addition to downtown Olympia since there are almost no batting cages in the area.

What a wonderful little park, nestled into the neighborhood - a great place to take the family…read more I happened upon this little gem a number of years ago when my wife was at an appointment and I needed to "kill" some time with the kids. I searched for nearby parks and this one popped up. I am super glad that we went there, as we have been back countless times!! They have a good selection of play equipment for a variety of ages and kinesthetic movements (slides, climbing toys, a large spinning toy, monkey bars, balance beams, and swings). The centerpiece of the play area is a large lions mountain-type slide. The kids have to literally climb up the "rock side" to get to the top. Granted, that's a wee bit challenging for some of the youngsters, and their adults may need to help boost them up and spot them from underneath. But the pay-off is great! A good view from the top and a tall, long, straight slide down!! There also is an animal footprint rock path that is pretty cool. Each rock (they're low to the ground and pretty flat so it's safe) has the footprinted imprinted on them and go in a large "S-shape." Good for balance and for identifying wildlife. Additionally, there are basketball hoops, tennis courts, and a walking path. There is a fair amount of picnic tables available - including a covered pavilion that can be rented out for parties. New in the last year or so is a water feature where kiddos (and adults) can cool off in the hot summer days. Lastly, there's a huge open field for just general running and plays and games. The biggest challenge that we've found is the "Lion Hunt." Supposedly (according to the sign by the playground) there are 11 Lions hidden around the park. Some are statues, some are carvings, etc. So far, after much looking, we've only found like 4 of them! Hmm? You'll have to check it out ... a great park, in a safe neighborhood, with lots to do. You can't go wrong!
