Just so everyone can see how this business is being operated. What class!

Absolutely horrible service. The players themselves are generally fine, but Steve Chagon is absolutely terrible and has no idea how to run a league or act like a decent human being. I highly recommend anyone considering this league to think again, there are much better options with infinitely better service. Update: Steve proceeded to call be a " Douche " while banning me from the league, for the take of tennis, please go play somewhere else.

That said, the employees do seem engaged with cleaning consistently (unlike older reviews that note otherwise). The majority of equipment is new upstairs also. The star deduction really is due to value, and some of the members. Most of course seem fantastic and respectful. That said, there is definitely a bit of an entitled culture where some will do circuits and expect to own 3 different machines simultaneously. They will say they were using it and I respectfully let them know they can work in with me if they'd like...These types also have difficulty with re-racking the weights and leaving towels/trash around, but thankfully staff has been good about keeping things tidy.

But the monthly dues went up. I'm so perplexed that I'm paying more for several months for services that don't exist. This has been going on for a long while. It's all for the greater good to offer less but raise the monthly dues and pay more now so that future members will enjoy it later, right comrades? The manager did say in an email that we are a "collective". So we have to pay more for less. For the "collective". No apologies. No more cycling. I guess less is more at this Equinox. It's fun to read and see that a lot of the recent five stars are because they were comped with free workouts. And in a year or so, maybe it's done (?) and the manager will send an email out again "our renovations are almost finished! Because of our improvements, we are raising your monthly fee to ...."

Guy Fawkes Conservatory…read more.... Yes, it sounds kinda... well...whack.... yet it's very intriguing, so my inner "geekiness" convinced me to sign up for adult kickball. However, there are some perks to playing adult kickball, that was never included or allowed as a youngster..... #1 Lots of Beer for cheap.... #2 Lots of cursing..... #3 Lots of gloating..... #4 Lots of cool ass team names, except my team and a few others....lol. Played a couple of years ago and is great exercise, but my team expected way too much by wanting to practice all of the time (like twice a week! + 1 game a week)), which many teams did not do and still won many games (some took it way too seriously though)... but to be honest, I just had too many other things going on I felt were more important, like now, so I didn't give my team a fair chance to bond and grow with. If you DO ever decide to sign up (like $60+ bucks for a t-shirt, be assigned a team & meet cool people for about 10+ games), sign up for a team with a group or at least a couple of people YOU ALREADY KNOW & HANG WITH...... it's kind of "clickish", in a Dungeons & Dragons way. Have you ever seen the movie, "Role Models"?....If so, you know what I mean..... if not....hello?! Netflix....lol. Plus, many of the players are in 2-3 other kickball leagues with one another and have played with the same people for years. I would love to try it out again, especially 'cause I totally kicked ass in it....lol, (even though I pulled a muscle because some a-hole tried to trip me! ... My girlfriend and I were looking to find a league to meet some people and have some fun. What we…read morefound instead is a system built entirely around greed and profit at the expense of its customers. There is nothing that these guys do that is in the interest of their members and everything is for stuffing as much money in their pockets while they laugh at the idiots (myself included) that join their leagues. First and biggest problem, there is a minimum of TWENTY-SIX PEOPLE ON A TEAM!!! Let me reiterate, TWENTY-SIX. When I asked at the beginning of the season why there were so many people on a team, their response was "because people tend to quit or not show up". How right she was. You know why they quit and don't show up? Because there are 26 people on the team and you spend more time watching than playing! Lets do some math. The games are five innings. There are three outs in an inning, which means there are 15 outs per team in a game. There are 26 people on a team. That means, it is possible for 11 people on your team to not even get to bat once in a game! And to ensure that everyone gets an at bat, you need to get a minimum of 10 hits in a 5 inning game. I NEVER once got more than one at bat. The league cost $70 and I got a total of 7 at bats for a cost of $10 per at bat. Ridiculous. The league makes $1,820 per team so they hire the best referees possible. You know who those refs are? YOU! Thats right, you get to pay money to play in a league where YOU have to work! And if you don't want to ref, your team has to forfeit games. This leads to wonderful things. People who are being forced to referee games that don't have even a basic understanding of the rules. Referees making calls that are biased and favorable to their team. And even worse, people extracting revenge on teams that either beat them, or made bad calls against them when they get to ref their games. But the greed and fun don't stop there! How can you make more money from one field? Waka figured it out! Put TWO games on the same fiend at the same time! Genius! So, one game would be going on on an actual baseball field (you know with crazy things like bases and foul lines?) and the other game would be played at the exact same time in the OUTFIELD! The two games proceed simultaneously with the games kick at each other which results in balls flying into your game while you're playing which is not only stupid and annoying, but dangerous. The outfield games had bases that were placed arbitrarily and turned into an absolute mud pit by the end of the season. I am ashamed to say that I gave my money to these crooks, do yourself a favor and learn from my mistakes.

I always felt that the kids were being used to further the goals of the Coach rather than the other way around. Winning seemed more important than developing players. But he's found a home at HFC. The training is really good. There's a strong sense that the coaches are there to develop players and teams rather than their own paycheck. Kids seem to come first. The facilities are top-knotch, all beautiful turf fields, and our training schedule is very stable (unlike our former clubs, where practice times would get changed frequently) Most importantly for my son, the sense of community is really strong. Parents work together and the Club supports every team. My son is on a team with kids from all over the world and all walks of life and everyone gets along famously. The club puts a high priority on teaching kids how to work together. HFC feels a lot more like the clubs I grew up with, challenging competitive training within a strong community atmosphere. Finally, a club that feels like a club. You should see the smile on my boy's face.

Gave them a second, third, and fourth chance…read more.. This was probably my 7th time joining zog sports league and EVERY TIME there is a screw up. I really liked joining to stay active and getting to meet new people. However I won't be joining their leagues any longer and I urge you all to do the same. This time I joined a basketball league in Koreatown. Perhaps a new location would be better... The whole setup was a mess- players didn't know which team they were on, refs didn't show up, and parking was a nightmare (ok, parking isn't technically their fault). We only played 3 games total - the rest were either forfeited or played half court because none of the teams and players showed up. Before I didn't blame Zog but this has been a recurring scenario every season which leads me to believe they are padding their roster and teams. We were promised to have two referees every week - only one shows up every week. We always have to have a player on a team to track score and fouls because of this. Our final game of the season AND playoffs were cancelled because they didn't properly secure the venue. They didn't offer us refunds and gave us a laughable $5 credit to join future leagues. You have one important job that is to secure the venue and couldn't even do that... To sum it up... DO NOT JOIN SAVE YOUR MONEY. Another note they didn't mention anything about charity and which org we would like to donate to this time (which they clearly state in their website). Pretty much scam artists what more can I say.

I even stay after my game to play other games because sometimes players don't show up so they need subs, there no ref fees ! THANK GOD !
