Win or lose on the field, we always win at the bar!
    Mia S.

Zog reminds me of recess. After long days at work, finally I get to go outside and play! A friend told me about ZogSports. I was hesitant because I've never played any organized sports, am not in great shape, and know only general football rules. I signed up for Touch Football as "extremely casual." Perfect fit! I found that other players were inclusive and there to have fun. The referees and staff (thanks Caitlin & Matt) are patient and helpful. I tried a different LA social sports league one season and was disappointed that it wasn't as friendly or organized. Zog is an important part of my week now. I look forward to happy hour, joking with friends, and burning off the tension of busy days. I currently play on 3 Zog football teams. It's a stress release. I joke that, "Zog is my therapy."

If you want to play for fun and you are not overly competitive this is the league for you. As for myself I have played competitive softball pretty much all my life not to mention i have played in college too so I find the level of competiveness a little on the weak side. I have met some cool people and they do give some money to charity so that's a good thing. Not sure how much goes to them but at least they donate. I think that's their motto, playing for a cause since their league fees are super expensive. There a few things I dislike about the league. One is that they claim that we have a sponsor but never get anything from the sponsor. So how is that sponsorship? Not sure about that one. I would usually not say anything about it but they put the sponsor on the shirts that WE pay for. Shouldn't we decide if we want the sponsor logo on our shirts or not? What happens if we don't like the sponsor ? haha anyway... Second thing I dislike is that some of the umpires are new never had experience umping a game. They train them which is fine but are not completely aware of the rules. This causes a lot of conflicts between teams of who is right an who is wrong. Lastly, this is a 'for profit' organization so the fees are pretty high compared to other leagues. This league only has seven games plus playoffs. If you don't mind paying that then give it a GO. Hope this helps...

I'm not sure what that has to do with knowing how to use the equipment at the gym that you do in fact work at. The staff is the primary reason I decided to cancel my membership. They are simply bodies in a chair. They won't help, they don't say hello or greet you, they seem like they'd rather be anywhere else. They act like you're interrupting their personal conversation when you need to buy a water or ask literally anything. Cycling classes come and go without wiping the equipment. The cleaning standards here are 7/10. The best selling point here is the pool. It's nice to swim indoors, but there are only 3 lanes. Also, the cycling instructor, (Bernard I believe?) is the reason this gym gets a third star vs 1. Overall, the staff not knowing how equipment works, saying you're SOL when none of their bikes work, and being overall rude and unpleasant really kill the energy here more than I imagined. When I first signed up, I felt like it did not matter if the staff was rude- but here we are. I would rather pay less, knowing i'm going to get sub par service. If I'm going to pay almost $200, I would expect cleanliness and employees who know anything about the gym.

A few notes to consider before reading any equinox reviews:…read more* I go to multiple equinoxes in LA and OC. This review leverages the experience of these other equinoxes in mind * Lots of entitled and spoiled people go to Equinox and consider even minor every day hiccups huge inconveniences worthy of the death penalty. They come onto yelp and leave disgruntled reviews. Make sure to adjust for this. Parking (****) - like any gym in LA, real estate is tight and parking validation only lasts for a limited time. Westwood gym is a 2 hour validation and going from the parking to the gym is quick and easy. Above average compared to other gyms. LAFitness right across the street is 90m and you'll spend over 10 minutes getting to and from your car. I still think this is not enough for a gym visit so I take my scooter and dont have to worry about it. I'm surprised there aren't more e-bikes or scooters. Gym layout(***) Also needs the caveat of: like any gym in LA real estate is tight... this means small floor layouts separated by stairs and more stairs. The gym could have been designed with better use of floor space. They have the equipment seprated by type (free weight, assisted) which is unfortunate. It would be better if all the leg equipment was in one place, all the chest equipment in another, regardless of whether it's free weight or not. Still this is just a minor gripe. Customer Service (**) - this is where all the LA gyms suffer. It's just... LA. Compared to the OC gyms the CS is really mediocre but compared to LA it's probably above average. This is probably a plus for busy gym goers that don't want to be bothered with pleasantries but coming from OC, where all the employees give you genuine hellos, smiles, fist bumps, shoot off quirky compliments as you lift, make you feel at home, know you by name...it is kind of dry. Pool (??) - can't really comment as I dont swim but you can see the pics. Not all the LA gyms have a pool so i'm assuming this is a plus. Steam room (***) - just average. The clientelle doesn't quite know how to use the eucalyptus oil spray so it's always musty. Spray that shit constantly on the steam homies. Boxing (*****) - i love this boxing gym. No speed bag but it's a separate room with double end bag, heavy bag, and a tear drop bag. Usually empty. Some people kind of dick around in there for a whole hour but I mostly see people doing efficient hard core works outs and stepping out within 20-30 min. So if you brought your e-scooter, not a big deal to wait for it to open up. Usually empty when i show up Overall this is my go to gym in LA. Occasionally i'll go to culver city or santa monica for a change of scenery but i like this one best.

The swim instructors are wonderful and it's been a positive environment for our family. We were informed that non-members are only allowed to participate in swim lessons for a limited period (12 weeks). The fact that we were able to enjoy the club for nearly a year was an exception. We understood and respected the policy. Because we liked the club and have many friends who are members, we decided to move forward with a membership-- paying the significant initiation fee. However, after joining, we learned that some non-members we've seen in the past are now able to enroll in swim lessons by having member friends sign them up. This workaround seems to be very unfair, which makes the enforcement of the policy feel inconsistent. We've also heard ongoing concerns from members about how non-member participation in swim lessons can make scheduling more competitive. While we understand this from both sides, especially since we were recently non-members ourselves, it does highlight a broader issue around fairness and how benefits are structured. Members should always be given the priority. It's disappointing because we made a significant financial commitment based on what we were told. Greater clarity and consistency in how these policies are applied would go a long way in building trust and ensuring all members feel they are receiving the value they signed up for.

You should expand to new locations around LA. With that said, there is one area of improvement to work on. The lobby. It's outdated and needs a refresh. 1. The black and white photos in the lobby scream 1989. They need to go. Move the very cool "graffiti"style oversized poster to replace the black and white photos. It would look amazing. It's the perfect background for photo opportunities and Instagra. 2. The brass symbol sculpture needs to go. Its weird. It's broke. No need to prominently display something broken. Move the two randomly placed oversized black framed artwork on the back wall to replace the brass symbol thing. 3. The branches on the front counter with string lights look cheesy and cheap. They need to go. Buy 2-3 tall table lamps to go on the front counter instead. First impressions count. These small changes would significantly improve first impression of the gym. Thansk !
