I had such a great experience at Tenshoppe thanks to the store manager, Darlene. She went above and beyond to help my daughter find the perfect dress for her cheerleading banquet. I had my hands full with my other two little ones who definitely weren't in the mood to stay still, but Darlene made the entire visit feel easy and stress-free. Her customer service was truly exceptional--she was patient, kind, and so attentive to all of my girls. She has such a warm and welcoming personality that really stands out. Because of her, this was one of the most pleasant shopping experiences I've had in a long time, and she absolutely made me a returning customer. Hey! I'm a South Gate native & was super stoked to see a cute store in the neighborhood, so I gave it a shot! I bought dress options for VDay, but only ended up loving one dress & kept the more simplistic style. I made it a point to keep the other safe & in its bag, so that I could return it once my schedule allowed. Being that it's the 28th of February, I was on the last day to return according to policy, right? WRONG!!! Upon entering the store, the associates looked at my bag as if they were dreading my return. I walked up fully aware of the 14 day bracket. However there was unsureness in whether my cut off date was yesterday or today among the 2 associates. Between them, they decided it was yesterday February 27th, DAY 13. (Which I completely understand if policy relayed from moment of purchase). Policy states "from date of purchase" not "on date of purchase." Confused, I asked to speak to the closing manager, the young girl stated that SHE WAS the closing manager. So I took that with a grain of salt & stepped away to my vehicle to regroup, & re-read policy to see if i was possibly comprehending incorrectly. What made me annoyed was that they didn't seem 100% confident. So I walked back in, (not trying to be difficult), I just wanted to see some effort in the employees. At least scan the receipt or reiterate the policy. *note I'm a retail manager, traveling visual, personal stylist, fashion grad. & coming from SG myself, I wanted to give this place a chance. Possibly recruit girlies if an opportunity presented itself. After some push, the associate finally accepted the return & made it seem like I was such a nuisance! "One time only exception." I understand a mishap, confusion, & having the ability to override. But the tonality, blank stares, obviously exaggerated mannerisms made the interaction seem like such a hassle. (2minutes). Negative, weird, energy! & I'm not money hungry like THAT, but the policy is very misleading. It left a bad taste in hospitality. Just be wary, the company seems to be intentionally stingy. Retraction/loyalty is not a high priority. There definitely won't be a next time. Shop here if you want to be treated like hot garbage. read more

The staff members aren't helpful what so ever. There were two dresses, same brand, design just different colors and drastically different prices. I asked one of the workers, and she had a nasty attitude saying that she can't do anything. Rather than going to check with her manager, she quickly closed the conversation and laughed in my face. I absolutely love all of the clothes here but there is one girl in particular that is extremely rude and literally looks like she hates her life. I kindly asked for a dressing room and she didn't even say anything, just took my clothes with an attitude on her face. I get you have your bad days but you don't have to be that negative. The store is well organized and the staff is always helpful. Go there quite often, great selection. Those that left bad reviews should try going in with a nice attitude, been there over 15 times and the staff has always been pleasant and helpful. The clothes is also super cute and trendy. It was definitely not a good experience. I did a return just because it didn't fit good on me and I didn't want anything else I came in nicely asking if I can return this. The girl at the front desk (I didn't get her name) calls over Sara with a really petty tone that there is an exchange I saw Sara's face and she just looked really annoyed ti do HER job like girl there's always gonna be Returns or exchanged in retail BE FOR REAL!! Then the other girl just laughs with her. Im going through a really rough patch and didn't want any issues but I really wanted to ask if there is a problem. She just looked at me all weird didn't even say hi or thank you it was like I asked her to move the entire universe. I gave both of those ugly petty girls (well actually the other girl was pretty, Sara however girl I wish I can say the same thing but it looks like you came out of a hole which means you are ugly. And I'm typically not the type to call out someone for their looks like if you are pretty and I don't like you I will admit you're pretty hit Sara is just actually ugly and her attitude makes it worse like damn girl at least clean up your attitude so you can look somewhat presentable. Anyways if you go to this store and get something please make sure you are 100% sure about it bc it's if you do a refund they will look at you like you just ran over their dog. Pretty girl please fix your attitude it'll make you way prettier, Sara please clean up your attitude it will make you a little less ugly. read more
