TenTen definitely gives off a romantic ambiance and is a perfect spot for a date night or when you and your gals feel like splurging on authentic Japanese cuisine. I had miso soup, blistered shishito peppers, salmon/tuna nigiri, gold crusted wagyu tenderloin and all I can say is that everything was spectacular. The price point per person varies depending on what you order. While it can average $30-$60 per person, it can easily jump to $100+/person if ordering cocktails/steak. But I will say this, if you're looking to have a high-priced meal at an elegant restaurant that specializes in sushi and steak, TenTen is worth the cash. Sometimes the experience of a fancy atmosphere, great food and excellent service makes it all worthwhile. read more

1000/10 the food was sooo delicious. We made dinner reservations at this spot and the ambiance was intimate with dimmed lights. We ordered the tuna tacos and chicken karaage for our starters and it did not disappoint. We loved it so much we ordered second servings of each. We also had the avocado maki and the shrimp tempura maki. They were both delicious. The short ribs were perfect- tender and flavorful. We finished off with the crème brûlée. Service was lovely. We definitely were still chatting past the close time and the servers were polite and didn't push us out. If you're ever in the downtown Austin area give this spot a try :) read more

The ambiance of Tenten feels like a high-end restaurant with the dim lighting and chill music. Overall food was good although pricing was a bit high. We also enjoyed a bottle of wine that was recommended by our waitress. It was a busy Friday night, and our waitress had a couple of big tables. She was able to put our order in and get it out pretty fast, but we did have to track her down to take our order and deliver the check. This is understandable especially on a Friday night at a nice restaurant where the dining experiece is slower paced. I would reccomend for a special occasion and some good sushi! read more

Ten/ten they live up to the name for sure. Had an amazing experience. Hostesses were sweet but our server was AMAZING!!!!! Bree, thank you for our experience!!! You were so great to us. The wasabi martini is to die for. The perfect mix of sweet & savory with a tiny dash of heat. Love it. Yuzu tequila drink was really good and spicy!! S/o to the chef who literally cut up a fresh fish and made something for me that I requested. You made my whole weekend!!!!!! Best. Sushi. in. State. of. TEXAS!...(honestly, maybe even in surrounding states) My best friend is based out of Austin & made reservations for this new spot and I worship her for it! Service A+ Marqus was the epitome of superior service with a smile. He was so patient with us as we maneuvered through the menu as it was OUR first time at this NEW spot! EVERY.SINGLE. Suggestion he made was EXCELLENT! Pretty sure he thought we looked like escaped convicts from a womens prisons as we shoved rolls in our mouth like tic tacs and attempted to rave about the food while we did it. Ten Ten is lucky to have him on their team. Food A+ Admittedly we were STARVING! I had no food service on my flight to Austin (due to covid rules); therefor we ordered A LOT. All the rolls we ordered were so delicious that we barely spoke a word as we attacked each plate upon arrival. Please see my photos as we ordered an abundant amount of rolls and appetizers; I do not remember each name. Btw-Pretty sure this is the ONLY sushi spot I Have been to that has CHARRED Edamame (what??? life changing) ***Their Hamachi with Truffle and the salmon roll with citrus is all I want to eat for the rest of my life. Upscale, fine sushi establishment with a dark, refined atmosphere. There are also other fish and waygu beef items on the menu and a full page of drink options. Happy hour between 4:30-5:30pm on weekdays which is within their first hour of opening. All alcohol is half priced during HH. I tried three different $9 "handrolls" (more of a fold vs a roll) only available during HH. The waygu beef tartare was amazing. It was soft and flavors were balanced. The negitoro (tuna belly) was a sweeter roll with the tiny pickled radish cubes on top. The torched unagi (eel) was soft and savory. Overall impressed by the delicate details on each piece of sushi and the quality of ingredients. Service was wonderful as well. Attentive, helpful, and kind. read more

The first time that I went to TenTen, it was barely a few months after it had opened and they did not have any vegan options. But were very nice about it, and said they'd give the feedback to get more vegan options added. Come last year, they did. Now they have a separate plant based menu. I was so excited about it!! Couldn't wait to go back to the restaurant, since even though I couldn't eat much the first time I went, i thought the place was really nice, I loved the ambiance- which was so cozy! So couldn't wait to go back to try their vegan options. Once we sat down, I asked the server if I can see their vegan menu - to which she replied, that they don't have a vegan menu but have a plant based menu. So I asked whats the difference!? And she said, I don't know... To that I thought whatever and moved on. OK... so the food arrives and looks so delicious and the first thing and the only thing you could taste is salt. The food here is too salty!!! All the dishes were so so so salty - I tried the miso soup, avocado roll, eggplant nigiri and tofu roll - all I could taste was salt. There were multiple people in my group who also said the same thing, the food was just too salty, no other flavors. I'd not recommend this place anymore for that reason. read more

Great sushi, modern take on Japanese food in downtown Austin. We came to Ten Ten in a larger group of five and shared several appetizers followed by traditional sushi and sashimi. Sashimi and sushi were excellent. TenTen had a good selection of both white and red fish. Very fresh and traditionally cut. Sake list wasn't that great, however wine selections compensated for sake diversity. Service was friendly and attentive. Tips: Great sushi alternative in downtown Austin. Beautiful interior. No parking. Good, but not extensive selection of fish. read more

Wonderful date night dinner spot if you're looking for something with a classy, and romantic vibe. We arrived around 730pm on a Saturday with no reservations and we're seated immediately in the bar area. They have reservations for the dining room which is directly across the bar area. But if you don't have reservations, you can get seated at high tables or bar area depending on availability. I thought all tables in the no reservation area were really well done As well so don't be afraid to check in if you don't have a reservation. As a vegetarian, TenTen has plenty of options to pick from. We opted in for braised mushroom maki, Brussel Sprouts and vegetable tempura with a side of cocktails. Everything was perfect. Our server was wonderful. So nice, friendly and patient. We sampled couple of wines before deciding on cocktails instead. Pro tip, you can sample any wine that you can get in a glass. Fish was fresh. Dalton was the best server literally saved our whole experience here. First 3 orders of hamachi sashimi was only 58g of fish and second 3 orders ( on the house) was only 41g of fish Inconsistency was a huge issue. read more

The happy hour was amazing! It goes til 6 and there's several $6 bites and sushi roles (maki) that range $8-$10ish. Also cocktails, wine, spirits, and beer is half off during HH. Our favorites were the pork gyoza and chicken karage. Pictured here is spicy tuna (closest to camera) and hamachi maki (farthest from camera), $6 salmon skewers, and the $6 pork gyoza. The lychee martini was also amazing (also pictured). $17 but half off during happy hour. We didn't order anything that wasn't on the HH menu. We made reservations so we were seated quickly. Our waiter was so kind and helpful too. The restaurant itself is dimly lit and perfect for a date night! Everything we ordered was delicious! The shrimp tempura and toro maki were great with well balanced flavors. The bossam paired beautifully with the pickled veggies and gochujang. The brussel sprouts were crispy, sweet, and spicy. We ordered takeout from TenTen excited for so delicious sushi. We order the Wagyu Tacos, 3 rolls, Himachi, Tuna, and Salmon Nigiri. Total bill $145 . And surprisingly the Wasabi (tiny little plastic ramikan) was extra. Sushi was not good. The mango sauce that went with the Himachi Roll was bitter and not the good complimentary bitter but the food ruining bitter. Wagyu taco were actually pretty good although the taco shells were soggy from grease. Don't understand the high ratings but something I have come to expect in Austin. Over-rated restaurants who reputation FAR exceeds the food quality and experience. Won't go back. Especially for the price. read more

I had met my girlfriends at TenTen for an early dinner. We snagged a last minute reservation for 5:30 and I was surprised how busy the restaurant was at that time. The lighting is low and the decor is swanky. TenTen is an upscale restaurant with prices to match. We decided to order an array of hand rolls so we could try a little bit of everything and split it all. Every roll I tried was good. I'd have to say the yellowtail scallion stood out to me. The lychee martini was also delicious. The server was attentive, but gave a standoffish vibe. If you're looking for upscale sushi- this is the place! read more

Walked in thinking that it would be another overpriced place, but was pleasantly surprised! The hamachi carpaccio and salmon maki were alright, but the hamachi maki and short rib were very good. The actual sashimi we got was wonderful. Very delicious and fresh. Everything else was so subpar, I assume the pricing is for the location not the experience. The sea bass was average, overcooked and the server didn't bring us any spoons to eat with. I asked for spoons and then he only brought one.. seems like a dish with a lot of broth should have spoons with it?! Also, our hot dish came first before the sashimi. Seems weird. And then after we finished the hot dish he didn't replace our plates. By the end of the meal I feel like he forgot about us. Both of the cocktails were average at best, not worth $20. TenTen has become one of my favorite spots in Austin in just one meal. That being said immediately after eating I booked another reservation for the following week to experience it all over again. I went here for the first time during happy hour (M-F 4:30 pm -5:30 pm) and let me say it's totally worth it. With half-priced signature cocktails, wine, sake, house spirits & a special menu featuring house-favorites and hand rolls, there's literally something for everyone. I really enjoyed the wagyu tartare hand rolls. If I hadn't order the entire HH menu I could have been content with just eating more of those. This place must be best known for their cocktails because those were lit AF. Newest sushi joint in the city (maybe). Came here for a snack with some girls. They have only been opened for 8 days when we went! It's a nice sushi place. Decor is gorgeous. We got the hamachi Carpaccio! This did not disappoint. I knew it would be good but it was even better than I imagined. I've been seeing all the pictures on Instagram and it's my favorite here. We got 2 maki rolls, the bbq toro and hokkai. For the bbq toro, I thought it would just be torched toro but it was cooked toro. It was ok IMO. The hokkai was so overpowered by the perilla leaf (shiso leaf?) Whatever it was, I couldn't taste the crab, scallops and salmon at all. The scallop with the kombu leche de tigre was very tart for me. I would like it to have a bit more spice but my dinner mate loves that tartness so don't change it! The octopus plate was chewier than I normally like. But it was still good. The pricing here is $$$$. They just started Happy Hour so I will be back to try those out. They have hand rolls during their happy hour from 4:30 - 6pm in the bar area and half off cocktails! I can't wait to come back on a date night to enjoy more of the food and also Happy Hour. I'm also interested in how different the menu will be in the future also! read more

Initial review - things may change because they've only been open for 2 weeks. My initial thought after scanning the menu was, nothing new or different from what's offered elsewhere in Austin. But I was open to tasting the quality of the fish. Hamachi carpaccio - loved the thin slices, melted in my mouth, the sauce could use a tad more acidity. Octopus - just another charred octopus plate, could be more tender, my dining mates did not like the chewiness. I liked the potatoes and Japanese sausage. Hokkai roll and bbq toro roll - I didn't like the overpowering shiso, couldn't taste the fish. Scallops - my favorite because of the kombu leche. This reminds of the how ceviche should taste, extra tartness! I have searched for this flavor all over Austin! My dining mates thought it was too tart for them. Its okay, I was excited for a new sushi restaurant but walked away disappointed. The hype is in the decor, food presentation, and price - those are really up there in the nice and fancy for date night. I had tried a little of everything on the menu ( sushi, new style, small plates and plates) but not exactly thrill to say that this was the best I had, even for Austin. There is a handful of dishes under the four categories. The kind of fish you see mostly are salmon, tuna, king crab, scallop, just not a lot of option for die hard sushi fan. Doesn't look like there is anything off menu or seasonal so that a little strange for a sushi place. Drinks are a little weak, I wasn't sure if my cocktail had alcohol. The sushi fish is reasonably good but the rice didn't help, it was not soft and broken away too easily. However, this is probably the option you should go to if its the only thing you going to eat here. I had the hamachi carpaccio that everyone rave about but I was pretty disappointed. I had fresh black truffle before and love it but if any dish is enhanced by truffle oil then its a big turn off for me. I had the hokkai because I love crab, salmon and scallop but I was very disappointed and had to ask my husband where is the scallop? I was confused to what I was eating and what is what in the roll? In addition, ikura was never mentioned on the menu but it was on the plate. That should of been highlighted on the menu as part of the plate. I had the red fish, it looks very nice but when you bite into the fish, it was plain and boring. The spice was all outside on the plate. Given you mix them all together, it should give you the ultimate taste. But I didn't feel the fusion of the spice and the fish on this plate. The last attempt we had was the half chicken, we expected half a chicken but what we got was a de-boned, rolled chicken meat plate that looks like foie gras. The presentation and taste on this was actually not bad. The meat was marinated well and very moist so this was something that picked up the evening. So 2 for 2, I would said its ok. Great sushi spot at a reasonable price point! We had the barbecue toro hand roll, spicy tuna roll, hamachi plate, squash, and chocolate cake. The spicy tuna roll was incredible: fresh & familiar with a hint of a spicy kick. The toro roll was ok, but a little too saucy for my preference. The squash is a cold, slightly pickled dish, and was different and very tasty alongside the spicy tuna roll. I definitely recommend ordering those together. I ordered the money cat cocktail and wish it had been more spirit forward (I couldn't detect mezcal's smokiness at all) and the chocolate dessert was okay but not memorable. My server Austin was so knowledgeable and suggested the tacos - which were one of the best Asian inspired tacos I have ever had- so full of flavor and the shell wasn't overly crunchy. The only item I wasn't a huge fan of was the miso soup. I like a lighter soup with more broth. This one was filled with small bits of tofu and scallions- but still extremely flavorful, just not my favorite dish. Delicious mixed cocktails and a great variety of appetizers. My girl friend and I were having a Moms' Night Out and enjoyed the lively ambiance. The decor was pretty modern and restrooms were clean. The sushi was fresh and delicious. The nigiri that had special toppings on them did not overpower the fish, which is what you look for in quality Japanese restaurants. I've been coming to TenTen ever since it opened, but this past time at TenTen was by far the best experience I've ever had. In the past I have been disappointed with TenTen's service, but our server Austin, was incredible! Super nice, attentive, took our order fast, and gave great recommendations. He convinced me to try something new, the Mushroom Maki, and it is now my new favorite dish at TenTen. Great food as always. Can't wait to come back soon. We came for happy hour and immediately loved the vibe of TenTen. We were greeted by our awesome server Austin, who took great care of us throughout the entire meal. He suggest a few drinks for us and he nailed it. They were delicious, I had a Japanese whiskey old fashion. We ordered a little of everything and honestly I wish I could of went through the entire menu. Everything that came out was just delicious. Each dish was bursting with flavor leaving you wanting more. The nigiri was amazing and I would compare it to a lot of omakase spots that we go to that charge a serious premium for. The veggie review! We were a big group of people and ended up trying all the veggie starters in the menu and all of them were pretty good. It was interesting to try the charred edamame which felt like a good Texan twist to the usual edamame. Both the sushi picks were good as well. Everyone seemed to like their cocktails too. I recently visited Ten Ten for a girls' night out and had a mixed experience. Japanese food (especially sushi) is my favorite so I was excited to try this place after hearing great things. Walking in without a reservation, I was pleased with the charming upscale ambiance and the welcoming atmosphere. The highlight of our evening was undoubtedly the amazing happy hour deals and drinks. The nigiri sushi were creative and delicious, but I found it to be on the expensive side for the quality. On the other hand, the happy hour handrolls were more affordable (2 for $9), although I found them to be just average in terms of taste. The negitoro was brown and didn't seem to be the most fresh. Parking in the area proved to be quite a challenge, as street parking was limited. However, the great service we received throughout our meal definitely made up for this inconvenience. The Momo Spritz mocktail I ordered was also refreshing and a delightful recommendation from the barista. To summarize , while I had high expectations, I wasn't entirely impressed with the food as much as I would have liked to be. A few times have been there especially during a special occasion. The place was clean, decent, with high ceilings and captivating decorations that are picture-perfect. The California roll here is above average compared to other sushi restaurants. Their sashimi is a bit lacking in size but the quality is good. I do like some of their specialty rolls but it's a bit too pricey for me! Never order takeout since you're dealing with raw fish and the taste may not be that good. The only annoying part was my GF was in the bathroom for a good 15-minutes while I was at the table wondering if she was alive. I've had sushi omakase before and what stands out about this one is that there's lots of fusion and spice (jalapeño, ginger, etc.) I actually wanted to come because I thought it was related to Pasta Bar, but it turns out the owners of Pasta Bar used to work here but split and created their own Scratch restaurants (Sushi by Scratch, Pasta Bar). Not related, but still really yummy! Reservations are needed and it's prepaid. There are other add-ons and drinks that you can pay for in person. They invite you to have a complimentary drink 30 min before the reservation-Silk Road-a mix of yuzu, sake, coconut, etc. Very smooth and sweet! I like it. We were seated with other couples and it's an intimate space (8 spots). Since it was our anniversary, we were the only ones that got a paper menu of what we ate. That was surprising as other omakases give everyone the menu regardless of the occasion. There are three chefs preparing the sushi, and the entire service was pretty fast. We spent an hour 30 min here. I liked that there was bottomless salad with seaweed and the like. There was one chef who kept refilling my salad, which I appreciated. Keep in mind, if I didn't keep on eating the salad, I probably wouldn't have been full. Another surprise is that there are no chopsticks. You wipe your hands with one towel and eat the sushi and salad with your hands. My favorites are madai (sea bream) and hotate (scallop). They have a smooth and smokey flavor. Since we were early to our reservation, we were greeted with complimentary cocktail -Silk Road, it was mixed with sake, coconut, and other ingredients. I don't usually like sweet cocktail but this Silk Road is really refreshing. On to the omakase, all the dishes are flavourful and it has its "own twist" (fusion). I normally don't enjoy fusion food but sushi bar has elevated it to the next level! I especially enjoyed the Hotate (scallop), A5 wagyu, and Madai (sea bream) - the scallop is fresh and lightly torched; A5 wagyu, no introduction needed, melted in your mouth; sea bream is flavourful and "smooth".
