I was terribly disappointed at the lack of flavor in the doughnuts. I ordered the crème brulee, Boston cream, cinnamon roll, and German chocolate. Every pastry had the same flavor profile and tasted like tough, dry, flavorless, stale, old bread. There was no hint of vanilla, no ooey gooey sweetness, nothing. Just bland, dry, and old. The best thing about the donuts and cinnamon roll were their appearance. They looked phenomenal. Utterly disappointing. I shouldn't have given them a chance once I saw the gnats circling over the uncovered pastries. However, I said oh it's summer. The door keeps opening, at least there weren't flies. Nope, I will never return! Social media lied. Dunkin' Donuts are better than this place, and that's just sad. read more

Visited at about 9:30am on a Friday and they still had a huge selection of doughnuts! We tried a cinnamon roll as well. All were amazing. The chef and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The hot coffee has amazing flavor and you don't even need sugar. The donuts dough is very light and fluffy with no grease taste at all. The only thing is that I tried the strawberry and the lemon poppy seed and they barely had any of those flavors. They mostly tasted like really good glazed donuts. I will say we came very late in the day and did not have them fresh which could influence the taste. But overall they were very good and we had a great time. read more

Tepuy Doughnut was located in a coffee shop at 1818 Oberlin in Raleigh. The address on google was not right I would suggest calling as they move around to different locations. They are Very nice when you call! We went in for the lemon poppyseed it was out. We ended up getting a chocolate doughnut it was very chocolaty you could taste the sour dough. If you like chocolate get this one. The next doughnut we got was the sea salt Carmel wow so much salt we each took a bite, nope. This place has a great vibe and customer service with a large selections of items. It's worth the short venture on Capital Blvd to try it. Far superior to Paris Baguette that I tried last weekend. Everything was very fresh. I tried three items. The best was the specialty cinnamon roll. If you like baked items with authentic homemade pop of fresh butter, this would be a great choice. My filled creme brûlée donut was the lull; the filling was wasn't rich enough and the caramel sugar shell on it was burnt. The standard cinnamon and sugar donuts was very soft yet dense. It tasted like cinnamon toast out of the toaster. It lived very much in the bread family versus the cake family. I don't know if that is true for all the standards. Next time I will choose a donut with a sauce or glaze just for more moisture like the common roll had. Of course, the right beverage pairing would be the other option. read more

We got our doughnuts at Idle Hour on a Sunday morning around 8:30AM and they had plenty in stock. We ordered a regular strawberry, a nutella filled, a boston creme filled and a creme brulee. If you love filled doughnuts, then Tepuy Doughnuts is a MUST TRY. I love that there is so much filling in every doughnut! It makes it quite a mess, so make sure to grab enough napkins, but it is so so worth it. My favorite was the boston creme! While enjoying our doughnuts outside, they just so happened to re-stock some additional fresh doughnuts and yes, I went back in line and bought the banana pudding! Yet again, so good! All the doughnuts had the perfect consistency of fluffiness. I can't wait to try more of their flavors - like tiramisu, cookies and cream, and the pumpkin spice creme brulee! read more

The glazed doughnut was out of this world. Vibe. They are just a provider of the donuts within a different coffee shop.

This place...ummm I did not like the donuts. This is just my personal opinion. The donuts are cakey and I prefer airy. I tried the chocolate and the sugar one. They were sold out of the others. I honestly wanted to try the filled ones as I believe that would've made a difference. The location itself isn't bad you'll miss it if you aren't familiar with the area, the donuts are sold inside of a coffee shop. I personally feel blessed (a word I have never used before) to have these donuts available in Raleigh. Being a recent transplant to the Triangle, I have been trying just about every donut shop in town in the past year and Tepuy Doughnuts has been the best by far for a variety of reasons. The dough quality is really impressive and unique. For such a large donut, it would be fair to expect a level of 'breadiness' but Tepuy donuts retain perfect texture and chew. Also, I have not been able to try every flavor offered after 4 trips and every flavor I have tried so far has been amazing. A few personal favorites for my family have been the Nutella (wife's favorite), Creme Brulee, and Hibiscus. I would say the only possible downside is that there is no brick and mortar option at this time aside from picking up at other local establishments. For this reason I myself delayed ordering but now that I have been through it a few times it's very easy and timely. Would recommend Tepuy to anyone in Raleigh to support a small business with a vastly superior product. They have been so good that when I buy a box... my wife loves me more and my mother in law tolerates me more! :) read more
