If I lived here, I'd be here everyday. Small, intimate Cafe with good music and exceptional eggs benedict featuring roasted pumpkin and kale seasoned with an exotic olive oil and tarragon blend. I'll never be able to recreate this in my kitchen. Highly recommend!

I was very much looking forward as this one of highly rated, reviewed, and referred restaurant particularly for vegetarians. Ambiance was ok, nothing to write, service was ok too. But the dishes were disappointing, not only that the ingredients used like the vegetables were old and there was nothing to add any flavor either be it the sauce or the base. Not to mention, I had discomfort after the meal, old potatoes? One thing that is good is that all the dishes' presentation was killing, that's about it. But for me me that is secondary or don't even care about it! If it is not backed by taste.

I was excited to try this place after seeing all the great reviews so I made a reservation. It wasn't that busy but they decided to seat us all the way in the back room in a a corner. Didn't have much of a vibe due to that but the main room seemed nice. The wine list by the glass is limited and disappointing with wines that were sub par. The menu was extensive with many kinds of dishes many of which were good examples of local fair. We ordered a few things. The croquettes which were good but wish they were served with sauce. The caesar salad was uninteresting. The paella was disappointing. But the meatball and egg dish was pretty good although bland. I will say the service was good and overall we had a nice experience but the food lacked flavor.

This place is a MUST if you are vegan or love vegan food. Probably the best vegan spot in Barcelona in my opinion! I came here for my birthday and it was the best decision ever! Think of this as a unique fine dining vegan experience. So many great flavors, wide variety of dishes from the tapas to the main course to the the dessert. I got to try so many items because it's affordable and worth it. Some of the dishes I had were the housemade croquettes (try all 3), kale chips, leek salad, Jerusalem hummus, eggplant rolls, & finished it off with a chocolate cake! The ambiance is so delightful with soft lighting and open space. There's even a cute bakery section in the with treats and fresh juices. The staff were busy but very helpful and kind. Food was constantly coming out in time. Excellent service. You will not regret coming here.

I had lunch at Teresa Carles with a friend, and we both had fairly high expectations based on the positive reviews and recommendations from others. Our meal here was alright, but didn't quite live up to expectations. For starters, my friend has a nut allergy, and the waiter wasn't terribly helpful with helping her figure out what she could order. (The service in general wasn't great.) The menu had an extensive selection of fresh juices with ingredients that sounded delicious. I ordered one, and was disappointed to be handed a bottle of juice, rather than fresh juice in a glass, that didn't even have all the ingredients listed on the menu. We ordered a few starters which were all enjoyable, especially the plant-based bomba de la Barceloneta. The croquettes were pretty good too. I also ordered the paella, and before ordering, I asked if it was made with brown rice, because vegetarian places tend to do that and I don't like brown rice paella. They said it was not brown rice, so I went ahead and ordered it, but then they brought out paella with brown rice anyway. I'm not sure if they fully understood the difference between brown rice vs. white rice so that may have just been lost in translation. Overall, this place is fine, but the menu isn't quite accurate, and it didn't live up to the hype. There are several other vegetarian restaurants in Barcelona that I heard great things about, and those might be better.

Amazing food! The lasagna I got was so savory, filling, full of flavor, and not lacking in anything. The fresh pressed juice was so refreshing. The service was great. The restaurant itself was so beautiful. Plenty of space for seating and quick service.

Spaghetti All Aglio Nero (vegan): Delicious!!

For being in the land known for meat and cheese, Barcelona has some surprisingly great vegan options and Teresa Carles was by far the best sit down restaurant meal I enjoyed while exploring this city. The restaurant itself is very chic and if you're looking for a more intimate and relaxed environment you'll find it here among the brick and the soft lighting. It's a step above casual, so this would make for an excellent choice for a dinner date or a celebratory meal. Table service can be hit or miss in Spain since most restaurants force-tip themselves into the bill by charging patrons a "service fee," but here the service was noticeably fantastic. Also, if you want/need the comfort of an English speaking server and menu, they will seat you in a section that accommodates. The food was stellar. We split several vegan options (the menu is very clear in its labels) and all were delicious to both our eyes and tastebuds. We started with the Bomba de Barceloneta, which I can now confirm was my absolute favorite tapa that I encountered while traveling around Spain. It was savory perfection and I would have been more than happy to make a full meal out of a few more of those. This tapa is not to be skipped! We also enjoyed the Eggplant Rolls, which I plan on recreating back home because they were simple but rich in flavor. If you like eggplant I would highly recommend ordering these. The Spaghetti All Aglio Nero (Black Garlic Spaghetti) was a big hit as well. Down to the last noodle, it was well balanced and quite tasty. The only less than amazing dish we tried happened to be dessert. The Guilt-Free Choco Cake was decent, but a little on the dry side. Other people rave about it, so maybe ours was just a fluke. All in all if you want to have a memorable vegan/vegetarian meal in Barcelona make sure this restaurant is at the top of your list!

Amazing vegetarian and some vegan food. This was possibly my favorite meal in Barcelona. I'd been dairyed out and subsequently felt the heaviness of it, so it was nice to have a break with some lighter but deeply flavorful food. Came here for dinner with a friend and we shared bites from the "to nibble" section. The croquette assortment is insanely good and full of flavor. The funghi croquette was my favorite. We also shared the classic tomato bread which I would've preferred to not be multigrain and it would've been better toasted. The Teresa bravas were awesome and probably the best version of bravas I had. They had the traditional patatas but also added beets and roasted carrots to give a colorful, tasty twist. The vegan paella didn't feel like anything special but got better as I continued. But I did appreciate the crispy edges as a good paella is to me. The plant based scallops were also delicious. Left room for dessert with the coco chai masala ice-cream which was just okay, and the half cookie that comes with it was too dense and hard so i passed on it. Overall, excellent option for a tasty but less rich spin on Spanish cuisine.

Before arriving in Barcelona, I had done my homework and researched the best vegetarian and vegan restaurants in the city. I'm so glad I did! Teresa Carles has been referred to as the best vegetarian tapas places in Barcelona and it did not disappoint! Located near the university in El Raval, this restaurant seems quite popular with both tourists, locals and students. We had a reservation and were seated right away. They offer up great vegetarian tapas options and recommend sharing a few plates. This is what we ate: * Variety of croquettes (spinach & artichoke; mushroom; and I can't remember the last!) * Patatas Bravas - these were quite different than what we're used to as it was kind of "gloppy". But it seems that's quite common as the way it is served. The potatoes and root vegetables were delicious though * My husband ordered a vegan "seafood" paella and I ordered a quinoa dish with vegan "Meatballs". Both were so delicious though the paella kind of stole the show. It made like a risotto but then had onion rings to resemble the calamari and it was just delicious! Overall our experience here was pretty good! The prices were pretty fare and the service was exceptional. If you are traveling to Barcelona and need a good vegan option, definitely try this place!

Very nice inside. Wait staff was attentive. Flax and seed kombuchas were good. Burger and quinoa salad was good. Mushroom pasta was ok.

With its broad array of organic juices, an open concept prep area full of fresh produce, and an enviable location a block away from La Ramblas, this popular restaurant certainty has to be the one vegetarian restaurant in Barcelona that's closest to American in spirit, taste, and marketing mojo. I don't know who Teresa Carles Borràs is, but she has obviously established a prominent local brand in healthy lifestyle eating and drinking since she has several related businesses in operation. Jamie W. and I ended up here after a long day walking around Barceloneta and Parc de Montjuïc as the city's streets were filled with both Catalan and Spanish demonstrators. We made a reservation, but it didn't seem to matter as we were seated immediately just before the restaurant started to fill up. The menu was quite a tome to get through. Jamie loves olives, so we ordered the 3.75€ Ras el Hanut Olives, a little crock of mixed green olives marinated in olive oil, garlic, thyme, rosemary and ras el hanut, a North African spice mix (photo: http://bit.ly/2hUf4Ca). Salty but a tasty starter. We then ordered something I wanted to try, the cheekily named 12.50€ Teresa Goes to Tokyo, a big salad bowl filled with wakame gum, canons, asazuke macerated cucumber, daikon, cherry tomatoes, and golden sesame macerated tofu. It was dressed with a sauce made of rice vinegar, mirin, and soya (photo: http://bit.ly/2BeHxrh). I'm not sure if Teresa made it as far as Tokyo, but it was pretty tasty if somewhat inauthentic in its presentation. Jamie wisely stuck with an appetizer for his entree, the 10.75€ Healthy Nachos, which took the form of baked corn and spelt chips accompanied by adzuki beans stew, guacamole, fresh tomato, pimentos del padron, and vegan sour cream (photo: http://bit.ly/2An6jIJ). While it wouldn't mistake it for something served at a Mission taqueria back home in San Francisco, it was pretty satisfying and full of fresh flavors. My choice was more ambitious, the 13.50€ Portobello Freak & Do. The provocative name highlights the dish's strong umami flavors with portobellos sauteed with crimini mushrooms, snow peas, green peas, and a house-made vegan fricandó sauce. The panadera potatoes were killer in more ways than one (photo: http://bit.ly/2zXDIsj). While Jamie uncharacteristically ordered a glass of Chardonnay to wash his food down, I went for a 5.95€ bottle of Forever Young, one of their specialty juices made of carrot, pineapple, orange, grape, tumeric, lime, and Peruvian lacuma (photo: http://bit.ly/2hJp0eh). Quite a tasty elixir after a pretty filling meal. I chose it because its chief benefit was anti-aging. I can dig that. Teresa definitely knows her stuff. FOOD - 4 stars...flavorful takes on veggie dishes with an American twist AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...a bit on the slick side with the tables crowded together SERVICE - 3.5 stars...not overly personable but not offensive either TOTAL - 4 stars...more cottage industry than cozy cafe but the food was delish

We've had a great food experience in Barcelona. Our stop at Teresa Carles was not a disappointment. The vegan and gluten-free food was amazingly refined.

This place marked the spot. There's plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. I preferred an indoor seat this evening because of the heat. First, the paella comes in a hearty serving. Definitely will fill you up. I arrived around 7ish for perspective and they made this to order. The paella was made wonderfully. Me personally, it seems a bit too rice heavy and not enough seasoning for my preference, but that is more an indictment on paella and not this place. They did have plenty of other options so I'm sure people are satisfied regardless.

Very filling, and such good vegetables. The fish/meat substitute was super good. Really well done. Reasonably priced for LA standards. Not sure what standard BCN pricing is but my entree was ~15 euro. Had a small amount of leftovers. Ambiance was great, too. And staff able to speak English if you have any questions. Great allergen labeling. All around stellar spot. PS my walking tour guide said Born is much cooler and less touristy than the Gothic District- if that helps you choose which location. And the church across the plaza is free after 6 pm so pop in and look for the FC Barcelona window.

Check the website to confirm the hours because the Yelp hours weren't correct and we ended up coming about and hour and a half before they closed. The staff still welcomed us in but we tried to be polite and finish early. We order drinks. I got the sangria since I wanted to try it while in Spain. The alcohol was jussssst right, if you know what I mean. I think, altogether we order just about everything on the menu between us and the portion sizes were great for being able to share amongst the table. I ordered the Indian curry with rice. We also shared the baked cauliflower, mushroom puffed pastry, the honey miso aubergine, and the goat cheese mixed greens. Every last dish was wonderfully seasoned and the flavors were AMAZING, in my opinion. The only thing that wasn't up my alley was the aubergine. This is no fault of the chef. I just am trying to love aubergine/eggplant but just haven't found a dish that makes me swoon. It's a texture thing I think. Anyway, I really loved the mushroom puffed pastry and I normally have an aversion to mushrooms as well...texture thing yet again. The desserts were great too. I literally sucked the caramel flan in three bites. It was deee-licous! This place definitely is on my list of places the next time I'm in Barcelona. The decor and lighting was great for the ambiance, the staff were very nice, and the food came out fast and tasted perfect especially after a long day exploring Barcelona. Cheers!
