I am documenting my experience regarding continuity of care and prescription management…read more I returned to Dr. Cecchini with a detailed patient statement outlining my treatment needs. Referrals were submitted appropriately with the exception of one of them.However, when it came to maintaining an established and effective treatment plan, I encountered resistance. Despite the medication being previously approved by insurance and clinically effective, I was told I no longer qualified based on current lab values. This overlooks the fact that the improved labs are a direct result of the treatment itself. Discontinuing or blocking access under these circumstances disrupts continuity of care. Additionally, there were concerning communications indicating uncertainty about how the treatment was approved in the first place, which was inappropriate and not patient-centered. I also experienced delays due to authorization errors that required correction. Once identified, the necessary updates were not completed within the expected timeframe, further delaying care. I understand providers are managing heavy workloads and administrative burdens. However, prior authorizations and continuity of care are part of the treatment process. Patients should not have to repeatedly advocate for access to a therapy that is already working. I would strongly encourage clearer communication, accurate handling of authorizations, and a more consistent commitment to maintaining effective treatment plans.

When I arrived for my appointment, I waited for a few minutes and then was told that I would have to come back AFTER 10:00 a.m. because the prior patient needed xrays. That is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. I believe they should have sent the patient for xrays and had him/her wait until the doctor had time in between other patients to follow up. To punish me for this other patient's issues is completely unfair. It's great that the physician wants to take extra time with a patient, but in doing so, they need to do one of two things. If they're running late, they should call ahead of time and let the patient know we can't be seen, instead of waiting to tell them once they arrive at the office. Or they should schedule appointments accordingly, perhaps one patient per hour, so they have all the time they need. It's one thing if a doctor is running 10 or 15 minutes late. It's quite another to treat me with UTTER DISRESPECT AND CONTEMPT by pushing my appointment back OVER AN HOUR.

I was with a different medical group just because my prior PCP was down the street and I liked their office. I unfortunately had to switch insurance which bummed me out, but it turned out for the better and I'm so glad I picked Hoag. Not only are most of my specialists from the previous insurance with this group, but they have offices that are still conveniently close to home. The Hoag building in Foothill Ranch is new and beautiful. There are different suites inside that one building. There are many places to sit comfortably while you wait anywhere in the lobby. There is even a coffee shop with a barista! The lobby smelled amazing from the coffees and lattes. I didn't grab any this time but I for sure will order one the next time I'm there. The staff was very friendly, greeted me hello, said thank you and wished me a great rest of my day as I was leaving. I *think but I'm not positive, you can buy workout apparel there? Not sure. I just saw some exercise attire so I'm just assuming at this point. Hoag Medical Group, is a group I should've been with since a very long time ago. Too bad I waited so long to switch over. Even if you're not a patient, stop by and take a look. I think you'll be impressed. Why sent me to the ER to receive a $6000 bill? This visit was totally useless.
