We usually go with the weekly special of pizza and hoagies. Hoagies are great and big. Pizza is always sloppy, so thin it falls apart and droopy. Can't eat it without all the cheese and sauce falling off. We have been going here for years- I prefer their custom calzones. read more

Until recently I would have given them a whole hearted 5 stars. They have been a go to place at least twice a month since the 1990's. However my last 2 visits were disappointing. I called to order when they opened at 10 for a pickup at 1130. I ordered a salad, sliders, a sub and a calzone. I arrived on time and they immediately had me pay and say it will just be a couple minutes. 10 minutes later I inquired and was again told just a few minutes. After another 10 minutes I asked to cancel my order and get a refund since I was picking up for a lunch scheduled for noon. This was denied. Another few minutes and who I assume was the owner asked what was the problem. I explained and he hurried in the back and I heard yelling. Finally my order was ready. After all that it was incorrect because there was cake included. I suspect they put it in as an apology but there was no way I was going back to inquire, to return it or pay for it. . Once I finally got to eat the food the calzone was not cooked through and had raw dough on the bottom. I suspect they forgot to put in my order and only started it when i arrived. Recently I gave them another chance and got an antipasto salad. It apparently had been made a day or two before. They cheese was almost melted due to the moisture of the lettuce. read more

I've been to this location a good amount of times over the years. Most of the time the order comes out right and is good but sometimes there are issues - like my experience tonight. I called an order in at 6:26 PM earlier today (Wednesday) - an 18-inch thin and crispy cheese pizza and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. Well... 20 minutes later I'm there and after waiting maybe 5 minutes I'm told my pizza has a hole in and that this sometimes happens and they'll make me another pizza. And so I stand there until 7:12 PM waiting for my pizza. At this point I'm not happy as my pizza should have been ready at around 6:45 PM. The girl who seemed to have the most seniority there (taller, dark long hair) offered me 'a brownie' due to the fact I had to wait 25+ minutes due to their failed pizza baking attempt. A brownie for 25 minutes? Really? That's insulting. A brownie for me standing there 25 minutes isn't going to make the bad experience right. I declined the measly brownie and left with the pizza. You can check your security cameras to confirm the times - I was the tall guy wearing the gray tank top. In the future, if you botch an order and someone has to wait for 25 minutes I would advise you offer them more than a brownie for their lost time and frustration. Mistakes happen but if you don't make it right the customer will likely be both unsatisfied and unhappy as we are. UPDATE: After receiving this snarky owner's response with incorrect information on a different review site I'm going to clear a few things up. First off, the girl I dealt with said to me "You can have a brownie." She's the one who suggested it from the start - not me. You're making it sound like I brought up the brownies/my mother liking chocolate - which is not how it occurred. Again - she said I could have a brownie - that is the one item she suggested. Second, noone said anything to me about salvaging the pizza so I could 'enjoy it.' I was told the pizza had a hole in it and they were putting another in the oven. You're either misinterpreting what your manager stated or she's straight up lying to you. At any rate you just lost a few customers of 20+ years. My parents are just as unhappy - more so at your response - and so we won't be back. Ever. read more

I had gotten the combo nightmare and let me tell you, this thing was HUGE! I had ordered the small and this was double the size I had expected. Not only was the roll larger, the amount of meat, cheese, and toppings in this sub were crazy compared to the subs I normally get at home. Can say I had a meal for 2 days with this one! When it came to the pizza slices they were already sitting on the counter on a wrapped plate. I had asked for it warmed up, but it was bagged still cold. I just returned home with two undercooked calzones, so undercooked that the mozzarella cheese was still in its shredded form. Dough was still raw. This place has really gone down the tubes, used to love this place. I will never return. Then to make matters worse, they overcharged me for them. On the menu, it says a calzone costs $9.99 each. I was charged $10.99 each and when I questioned the woman behind the counter, instead of owing up to it, she said there was a fee for using my debit card. But after returning home, the receipt showed that I was charged $10.99 for each one. And yes, there was a 88 cent fee for using my debit card. I don't expect this place to be around too long if they don't get it together. I, for one, will never step foot in there again. We have been summer visitors to Erie for 23 years and have been customers of Teresa's Deli for just as long. But for some reason this summer has been the worst. Had a baked steak hoagie that was so soggy the bun fell apart. Had a combination that was not made to our order, not baked and no onions. Had a calzone that the dough was raw with burnt spots and the breadsticks were raw too. We are so disappointed, but we decided to try them one more time to see what we get, afterall we gave been loyal customers for 23 years. read more

Our family had a passionate argument about pizza last night. You need a brick oven for anything fancier ... electric ovens just don't get hot enough. If you ask them, they'll cook the pie until the cheese bubble a little bit, I prefer that ... The toppings are no-sh1t toppings! We went to Teresa's Deli this evening and ordered wings, a sub, and meat lovers large pizza. The wings were baked and were really good. However, the meat lovers pizza was horrible. First the dough was not baked all the way through. And it had so many meat toppings on it that you couldn't even pick up a slice without meat spilling everywhere. Also the meat toppings weren't even cooked all the way so half of them were still cold from being in the fridge. I did not enjoy the most of the food at all and it was very expensive to boot. This used to be the BEST place. Giant hoagies with lots of meat. Pizzas loaded with toppings. I do not know what is going on but the last 3 hoagies I had reminded me of getting one at Subway. I looked in the bun and wondered where the meat was. Teresa's claim to fame was their hoagies stuffed with meat. Maybe in an effort to lower costs they decided to cut back but this is backfiring in my opinion. They are not living up to their motto. What a disappointment. This place is a hidden gem. It's easily the best Italian deli in town! I'm so glad I found this place. The food is amazing! They pile on all the toppings so thick you can't see the cheese underneath which is it's own thick layer. The red sauce is both sweet and spicy which is how I like it. They are so generous with portions and a great value for the price. The baked goods are also incredible. I have out of town visitors come to stay with us and specfically request Teresa's pizza. My favorite is the Calzone pizza with ricotta cheese on it. The meatball sub is absolutely perfect. My family ends up eating Teresa's subs or pizza once a week. read more

This past Monday I asked for onions and green peppers on a ham and cheese sandwich and was informed they were extra, even though they never have been in the past.
