Where to start...well here goes, we parked and waked in to this establishment and noticed that most…read moreif not all people in this place where glued to the television as the World Cup game (Mex vs. Kor) was on, understandably as in certain places Football is life. We waited by the Bar near the entrance for 25 minutes while all three waiters ignored us, made eye contact, checked their phone and took pics . Another Paton at the bar walked over to us and said they her grandchildren were sitting at a table which was empty except for a few sweatshirts so she removed them and said we could have the table, which was a very nice gesture that we appreciated. We continued to wait for another 10 minutes or so until we had enough with being ignored we left and went to another place and were seated and not ignored, a great meal by the way. My Brother in law was with me along with my son and my nephew. I had seen this place recommended by "The Boredom Report " ( JT my apologies but your guy here is out of line) many times and was excited to try this place as I always am when in Baja. Unfortunately, this place dropped the ball. My Brother in law left a review on yelp approximately 20 minutes or so after our visit and was sent a rather rude and racist message by someone named "Noel' stating that Mexico was in the World Cup and that they were playing in Mexico along with that we were I can't remember if it was Dumb or Dirty Americans so I'm going to go with Dumb for this one, "Dumb Americans" that need to educate ourselves on the Mexican culture and such. Well I'll say this, I too have been in Baja for over 40 years, Noel and never have I had any establishments in Baja ever ignore any customers until last night. If myself and my family didn't love, respect Mexico or its people and culture we would never go south of the border and be ignorant to anything having to with Mexico. But, since you are obviously more focused on Football instead of your business I would imagine that you might not last long with that mindset. Also Noel, please feel free to explain to me or anyone for that matter why you choose to run an American style Microbrewery and Sushi Restaurant and not a traditional restaurant in Baja? Could it be you're were attempting to attract a certain Dirty and or Dumb Americans? Also, please explain me and all that read this how to educate myself on "Mexican Culture'' when you're attempting to mimic two different cultures and yet have no idea on anything related to customer service. Please continue to Just throw out something racial and derogatory to cover up for you and your staffs shortcomings because racism has become a form of needing attention and not truly the issue at hand these days. Perhaps next time any "Dumb Americans" walk in to your place why don't you just refuse service, oh wait you do that by ignoring them and giving a racist rant on culture and education. instead of actually dealing with your staff/business issues. Now I've made some mistakes before with reviews and I generally give a place a few chances to rectify things as I know running a restaurant/business isn't easy and there are things that are out of people's control so I will update things when I return. As I believe this is the only true way of giving a honest and legitimate review. Perhaps next time you post a response you should also remember that there is an e-mail that is sent with your same response to the person that posted the review.Simply changing your response online doesn't change the initial email, and saying "you were busy" isn't an accurate description in this instance. Nice try. TO NOEL I WILL NEVER PATRONIZE THIS PLACE AS LING AS I LIVE! I WILL MAKE IT MY MISSION TO TELL EVERYONE I KNOW THAT VISITS BAJA TO NEVER GIVE YOU ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO TREAT PEOPLE THE WAY YOU TREATED US. SIGNED: "THE DIRTY AMERICANS'

The Yellowfin tuna we had was swimming just a few hours prior. So good!!! They use locally sourced and only the highest quality and freshest ingredients. The staff is super friendly and fun - we spent 2 afternoons there and they were awesome! My two teen-aged daughters and my wife and I really enjoyed it. It's a good size place with beautiful inside and outside areas - good for families and the party crowd. I hope we'll be able to come back one day soon!!!

we are completely new to this area and found this place on yelp. and thank goodness we did! this…read moreplace was absolutely amazing. our server was the best. i think his name is kale? cale? sorry for not spelling it right! he explained the menu to us because we told him it was our first time. we got most of his recommendations, i didn't think we had room in our stomachs to order the rest lol. which is why, we are bringing our friends over to try this place very soon. more bellies, more food! we got: - miso soup: probably one of the better miso soups i've had. most places make it extremely salty, but this one was just the right amount. - el jefe roll: WOW i was not expecting to like this one that much. the spice was spicin'! if you cannot handle spicy foods, do not get this one. - salmon nigiri: one order comes with two pieces. the salmon just melts in your mouth. i'm drooling just thinking about it. - negro aguachiles: speechless at this dish. i could eat aguachiles everyday!! i loved it. i can't wait to try their verde one! - snoked yuzu hamachi: omg you get dinner and a show with this one. this was soooo good, i want to eat this everyday. parking was aplenty and there were a good amount of tables inside. we came on a sunday afternoon and we didn't have to wait to get seated.

It was very nice that they had special customer parking, since this parking lot does get very busy. We liked the nautical esthetic outside with the vintage diving suit statue outside. We noticed there were a few tables outside and some tables inside as well. We were greeted at the door and asked to sit anywhere. We chose to sit at a 2 seat table where there a long couch on one side and chairs on the other side( you share the couch with the table next to you. I immediately noticed how crowded the restaurant is and how the regular chairs were made to fit a smaller body type. As a larger person, I sat on the couch side (which was hard to get out of without disturbing the table next to us). I did notice when we were seated that our table looked a bit dirty with something stuck on it. I ordered a ginger ale and my husband got a water. We ordered the prawns Roca for our appetizer, it was very flavorful. I ordered the Rainbow roll and my husband ordered the El Ranchero roll. My rainbow roll was very filling and had an interesting tangy flavor, similar to miracle whip My husband loved the el Ranchero roll. He really liked the unique Mexican Japan fusion flavor of it. Overall, we were happy with the food but not happy with the price. We felt it was definitely not worth the price. The knly way we'd come back is if we took advantage of the happy hour special someday.

I wonder sometimes if they're nicer cause they know our friends lol. The food is yummy, executed well. We like so many of their sushi rolls! It may be small but they put out good food! We were immediately seated, but as soon as my husband and I saw the menu, we wanted to get up and leave. Their menu was very limited, very pricey for the the place & location. But since my daughter was excited to try it, we decided to stay. No bento boxes here, and everything you request is an additional charge, even a tiny amount of teriyaki sauce! My daughter got the Naruto bowl, and my husband, the Teriyaki Chicken Bowl, each one costing $17 EACH. I went with the soy sauce ramen which was $16, and to add an egg additional $1.50. The bowls were only filled with rice, the ramen was filled with scallions, and not much else. The Cali Roll were also mostly rice, no avocado, they were so cheap and did not even add wasabi & ginger! Plus the place was not very clean. In front of where we were seated were dirty bins collecting dirty dishes, and a trash can where servers just dumped everything from trash, to soups, to drinks! It was so nasty, why not place the trash cans inside, where it is hidden, not where customers were dining?!? We won't be coming back. Pls save your money for another Japanese restaurant... the price, portion or taste weren't worth it for us.
